Thanks for your support!

Do you remember how we got rid of that horrible fight song last year? Capers turn.

Do you all remember that lousy fight song last year? Everyone called the Texans and complained and it was gone. When I called early on Monday after that game the Texans rep said he would add me to the long list of people against that song. Should we now do the same for Capers. I think so.

lets get a new coaching staff and then if Carr doesn't start producing lets start working on a trade that will improve this team you can't just bench Carr you're paying him too much :texflag:

Most of the best franchises in the league do not panic.

We are 0-2. Most realistic people thought this was a good possibility. They probably didn't have a sense about how bad the Texans would compete in those games and that is why folks are so angry. But like last season, if you have early turnovers, it is not likely you are gonna win.

If you want to run a team via the message board hiring, firing and drafting method then I respectfully suggest becoming a Washington Redskins fan. That franchise has been trashed.

I suppose, this is not a very emotionally satisfying rant, given how the first couple games went, but is just MHO.

Steelers played a better game. They are a better team right now. Congratulations to them.

I agree with most of this, but I know you are a big fan and you should remember that this team has had chance after chance to win games and coaching has failed us. We should be 0-2, but with two respectful loses. It's time for a change in coaching. Carr is good enough, I think, to make us winners, but his coaches must help more. Also coaches are easier to replace than players.

Thankfully, there are no asterisks next to your record that says pretty win or ugly win or pretty loss or ugly loss.

I'd be the first one in line to fire all sorts of people if I thought that it would really improve the team right away and it was best for the team in the long term. Ultimately, you need someone better to replace the coach.

We were 0-2 last year when we couldn't hold onto the ball. Then we started winning some close games and holding on the ball and people were talking playoff stuff. The Texans need more depth. This takes time especially with the salary cap and being a young franchise. That's not a terribly sexy position to take on a message board, but that is the deal.

It doesn't take time to show some pride and/or heart. This team is not getting beat, it is getting dominated.

You know, it is completely possible to lose a game badly and play your heart out. If you have played enough sports, you know this to be true.

How does Carr putting the ball on the ground reflect on the effort of the other players?

How does dropped passes reflect on the effort of the other people on the same play?

How does an individual's penalty reflect on the effort of the other players on the field?

Etc etc.

Saying a team has no heart is the worst stuff you can possibly say to an athlete. If you are gonna say it, you best have good proof of it. I am certain that to a man, everyone on that team was using their best efforts, and if anything, they were trying too hard. Dr. Bob Rotella, the sports psychologist has said that actually it is better for performance for an athlete to care too little than care too much.

If it were easy to stay in the zone, my golf game would be a lot better. :)

The fan view of the world is funny. If members of the team have a fit, they are losing their composure. If members of the team keep their composure and don't panic and try to not get too high or too low, it demonstrates they don't care. Of course, winning fixes those things, but in the meantime everything they do or say will be parsed.

PBust - Making no effort to hit someone anywhere on the field, much less at the the goal line, is a prime example. We could start another list if you like.

1. Buchanon oleying Parker
2. Buchanon constantly out of possition to make plays.
3. No second effort from Davis.
4. Carr not willing to stay in the pocket.
5. The entire defense laying down for Pitt's O.
6. That stupid look on Capers face... his mouth slightly a-jar.

1. No excuse. This is the reason everyone is saying this team has no heat.
2. new to the system. How are you making the connection: out of position = no heart/effort
3. Davis could have done better but the Steelers stacked the box most of the game that is why we passed so much.
4. Carr is shell shock at this point, in the last two games he has had a lot of unblocked blitzers get through and he is jumpy. You are not the one who has been pummeled by huge guys charging after you. Not seeing the contection of runnng out of the pocket = no heart.
5. Newsflash: The Steelers have the best O-line in the NFL. Some people could argue the best O-line in the history of the NFL. Add that to the fact that we have trouble pass rushing a average/poor O-line and that equals trouble. Willie Parker is a machine. What a find for the steelers.
6. I thought that was the look of a great leader. I see the same look on George W. Bush's face all the time.

1. glad you agree
2. practice practice practice. Being out of possition is a lack of disiplin. Lack of disiplin is a lack of focus, lack of focus = poor coaching, not willing to put in the time to do the job correctly. Not willing to put in the time = no heart
3. did you see Davis break a tackle yesterday? did you see him make 1 person miss?? I didnt... but then again.. i was watching the game with my hands over my eyes for the most part.
4. It takes heart to stay in the pocket with those big beasts of players wanting to take your head off. I dont care what the reason is... he lacks the heart to stay in the pocket.
5. I've seen our defense play the best offenses very well. The Steelers arent considered as a powerhouse on the offensive side of the ball. There is no reason that we just let them run and throw all over us.
6. He looks so much like Dubya its erie. That mouth hanging open makes him look like he's clueless.

You should bench anyone who plays bad, no matter how much money they make. I don't think Carr deserves it yet, but I would like for Ragone to get a chance.

Which is exactly why so many of our players lack fire. They have no accountability - "they have to play me because they are paying me so much". That will work with this team right up until they get cut.
