David Carr

More and more, Carr looks more like a back-up than a starter. As a matter of fact, Carr has not impressed me at all since he came to the Texans. If Capers does not get at least to the playoffs, it's time for him to go and take Carr with him.

Im sure Carr would love that too , because behind any other coaching staff and Offensive line Carr would flurish into a great QB

sick of the select few blameing Carr , its not Carr hard to throw from on your back and if you cant keep a consistant running game going you have nobody to pass too . you cant gain any confidence when the Oline is so inconsistant

Any other quarterback would be able to handle what David Carr cannot handle with the Texans.

Very true. The successful offenses run the ball well and use the pass to offset that. It's just football 101.

David seems to be running for his life most of the time. Maybe he's a frustrated RB rather than a QB.

Dude stop going down on carr he sucks select few? more than half the people here see that he suck he would flourish as a QB somewere else my god who would want him. :texans: do you listen to sports radio at all more than have the callers were asking for his job.

He's not mentally making sound decisions and seems to be rushing things.

It's almost as though he wants to run every single play rather than pass.

Can you at least use punctuation properly? It might actually make it sound like you know what you are talking about.

I know Carr has to shoulder some of the blame, but to think any other QB could come in here and succeed with the personel we have is completely asinine.

How about we keep Carr, and lose Capers. WILL SOMEONE PLEASE Palomalu.

if we keep carr it would cost us to much money i agree keeping carr for the league minimum other than that it would be too much.

To beat Pittsburgh we cannot make mistakes. Yet we're making mistakes. We have to stop their offense and so far we haven't. We need to get some offense going yet nothing seems to work. I don't know. Maybe it's our new offensive scheme...

Two things- first, why won't Carr throw the ball away instead of running out of bounds? Second, it kind of sums up the Texans offensive strategy when Carr is running to his left while the receiver is opened on his right...side thought, game planning???

Pittsburgh is probably one of the top 3 teams in the league....they are a solid SB contender.

It was going to take a very nice offensive showing from the Texans to stay with those guys. They don't look mentally right and they make stupid mistakes. Can't do that against those guys. They're too darn good.

How humiliating...Carr had a guy wide open too, but he's so used to getting sacked he assumed there was no time to throw so he instinctively ran out of bounds....

stop going down ? dont be rude it shows your age and knowledge , im just stateing this isnt all Carrs Fault , its Poor Coaching , its Poor Oline Blocking , you cant complete passes if the defense knows your gonna pass because you cant run the ball , look at last year Carr finshed 12th in passing yards and like 15th in QB rating so whats changed ? hmm lets see Oline , Defense theres only a few playing the same position they did last year. And who changed all that ? Coaches bad decisions

Trogdor014

he assumed there was no time to throw
There was no time to throw. Gaffney was wide open on that play because all the defenders left him open knowing he couldn't throw the ball back against his body. I don't think any QB could have made that pass (and I think only a young Favre would have tried it)

I realize that Pittsburgh is a legitimate contender but to lose like this a HOME is just plain awful. The coaching staff is going to have to make some adjustments. Go to 4 wideouts to force the secondary into possible one-on-one coverage of Andre Johnson. More screens and draws to take away the Pittsburgh Blitz. Traps. Two TE sets to give Carr more time to throw. Something. ANYTHING that works.

Yea the guy is running for his life most of the time. It ALL begins with the line. He makes poor choices sure but I think he's pushing it...trying too hard and you make mistakes when you do that.

they were awsome.

Or possibly the coaching staff. It all depends how quick they are actually getting the plays in. Knowing how many mental mistakes we make as a team I would say that it is the coaches.

How many times does DC get sacked this year. My personal bet is that unless David gets hurt, he breaks his record of 72, because he has been sacked 13 times in 2 games, even if he did cause some, they still count. Right now , he is on pace to be sacked 104 times this season.

GP

Go Texans!
He can control certain things, but he's choosing to fail.

Running out of bounds instead of throwing it (lost yards by doing that).

Fumbling when he should have pulled it down.

Delay of game about three times a game so far.

Those are basic, elementary things an NFL-caliber QB should do no matter what the situation. No excuse. Period.

He can CONTROL that stuff, but he's just zoning out and choosing to be stubborn about stuff.

His off-field character aside.....he's sinking FAST on the field, and it's partially his fault. Not ALL his fault, but he needs to be above the other players' miscues. That's why he's the man, or is he?

When he has a line, a pocket, and coaches who know how to call games. Blaming this on Carr right now is simply unfair. Give me the name of ANY QB in the NFL right now that can throw for 300 yards on their back????

Everybody's blaming Carr, but nobody's blaming Casserly. Doesn't he make the personnel decisions? Who's job is it to get us a decent o-line so Carr doesn't end up on his back?

Oh ive blame him plenty his worst mistake was drafting ***** david carr david is worthless as a NFL QB. :bomb:

carr made decent reads when you put him in shotgun and 4 wide sets, they never let him get into a rythm, and the O line play has been pathetic. we can't pass block to save our lives. any rookie lineman we draft will most likely be a couple years away from making a contribution its gonna be a long season. i bet those 2 first rounders for Pace is starting to look alot better

Abd you see thats why david will never be a good QB he still is a postwer child in your eyes and when everything is handed to you. you have no idea what it takes to be great when the blame is never on you. but i agree david carr is the greatest QB of all time. its everyones fault but him.

I think Carr, after years of being chased and pummeled, is like a dog who has been treated so badly that he's scared and has a lot of mistrust.

What other starting QB's would I trade Carr for. How about any of the other 31 starting QB's. Right now, he is worse than horrible.

Texan2061 "Any other quarterback would be able to handle what Carr cannot with the Texans?" How about Tim Ratty with SF? 4/11 with 3 picks at the half. "Joe" Harrington, 4 pixs today. Dunte Culpepper sure looked good for the Vikings!! How many pixs did he throw?

I did not get to see the game out here, but I did get to watch even the great Peyton Manning struggle today.

8 sacks!!!!

When the offense came out and scored to start the second half to cut the lead to 13, what did the defense do? Oh yeah, they let Pittsburgh march down and score again!!!! How many turnovers did the defense get???? Oh yeah, wasn't it 000000???!!!!

Stop putting it all on Carr and address the MANY problems this team has!!!!

Carr has to to be the weakest link here. He needs to go Bye-Bye. I have never seen a more horrible display of play execution from a QB since the great days of Ryan Leif. Trade or Fire Carr, thats what needs to be done. The Texans need a leader who can get this team up out of the sewer. If you want to read some more of my Carr bashing (with a little more thought involved) check out my thread called "The Beginning of the End..."

Agrreed. If Mooch gets his hands on him in that Detroit WCO, they're SB contenders. Wouldn't mind at this point seeing him traded. It's obvios his tallent is waisted under this staff.
