To win tommorow

we have to score first. Unlike the Bills, I don't think the Steelers will come out throwing, they will just try to wear us down. In order to stop this, we have to score first and try to get them out of their game plan. How about a deep pass on the first play of the game? The Pats proved in the AFC Championship gane that the weakness of this team is the secondary, they burned them over and over, and in forcing Ben to beat them, scored 49 points. My fear is that Capers will try to go toe to toe with the best front 7 in the NFL and pound the ball. I think this game more than any other is where we need to use Palmer's light up the sky offense to at least try to get some early points. I think that we can contain Parker, yes I know he ran wild against the Titans but theri defense is terrible. If we can prove we can stop the run then we can start droping back more men in coverage or sending blitzes to try and force some turnovers and punts.

By the way, did anyone else notice how many times in the second half agaisnt Buffalo we dropped 7 or 8 back in coverage? I think that if we can start off with a couple of stops against Pitt's run defense we might have a chance, if not, expect there to be a lot of sacks and a lot of David Carr running for his life. Anyway, there is my opinion :goodnight

First Get a new QB is an *****. Next Run D Run you have some valid points. I do not think airing to ball out all day will help us in anyway with a rover like polamalu back there. Understand that what NE did in the AFC championship game was run the ball and then go over the top. That is the secret to beating in top defense. We need a safety valve in the seam and a bevy of slant routes for gaffney and mathis. bottomline we will have to play well to beat the Steelers, but we can do it. Parker will have a good game and Big Ben is legite we just need to mix up our coverages and stay at home on defenese. I am looking forward to the matchup tomorrow.

BETTER PLAY CALLING. Let DC throw the ball - Oline give him the time and protection to make that happen. Stop Parker, and since our Defense is supposed to be lighter, drop Rothlesberger. Now whether or not this happens, it's just some of what they must do to win.

no chance at all we will not wint this game it is physically impossible specially with carr as qb
:crying:

Nope, you are complelty wrong. There is always a chance of victory. There is no team that the Texans have no chance whatsoever to win against. All games are played on the field and anything can happen. While it might appear improbable, it is certainly not impossible. I think it might be good to brush up on your probability and statistics. And when you are ready, I will be happy to introduce the chaos theory to you.

I'm not suggesting going the Mike Martz route, but the Texans need to pass in order to run, esspecially against this front 7. Polamalu obviously is a threat, but we can take advantage of his aggressivnes throuh play-action, some slant routes and a hitch-and-go. Bassically, I think that if Carr can look off and pump fake the defence (a slim chance, I know) I think we have a chance at some big plays, but if we keep calling for a HB Dive on 2 & 20, then we have no chance, we have to take the game to Pitt.

To win tomorrow we need to score more points than the Steelers. ;)

Seriously though, I agree we need to score first, and a TD at that. It will give the offense, assuming it is the offense that scores, a boost of confidence that will hopefully carry them for the entire game. That and NO turnovers!! I cannot stress that enough and I'm sure Dom will do just that tomorrow.

Pittsburgh has a very fast D from front to back. Their biggest weakess is their cornerbacks...very average. Whenever the D shows one- or zero-deep coverage I'd take a deep shot to AJ.

For the running game I'd go off-tackle a lot. Straight up the middle is tough but it's even more difficult to get around the corner on a team that pursues as well as the Steelers. Gotta attack them.

Most of all, be patient. That's their gameplan too. Don't rush into mistakes. Eventually there will be a play where the Pittsburgh D breaks down. That's why DC and company have to execute.

after last weeks performance i am not to highly on us winning this game tomorrow !!!! The steelers got a better D than the bills and we didnt do anything against them !

It is possible for the Texans to win tomorrow. Nobody wins all the time and the Steelers have won a ton since the start of last season. Sure they lost in the AFC Championship game and probably they're going to come in to Reliant and tear us up. You cannot however say that a lapse isn't possible on their part.

If I were a Steeler I would have a very hard time watching the Texans loss to Buffalo on film this week and not thinking that this was going to be an easy win. I don't think it's possible to imagine a more inept opponent than they're going to see on film.

It could happen. I'm not planning on it and I don't suggest anyone else plan on it either but it could happen.

Texans come out and play well

Steelers come out a little too confident

Texans get a little up early

Fans get really loud about it

Steelers go to work once they figure out they're in a game.

Fans keep it loud

Somewhere around the middle of the 3rd quarter the Steelers start to notice that the heat is a monster.

Don't say it's not possible. It's just very unlikely. In 2003 we beat the Panthers at home just like that and came very, very close to sneaking up on the Patriots the same way.

i like the idea of throwing deep on the first play.

If it's a pick then you can stick a fork in the Texans right then and there so think about that. After what Texans fans saw last weekend against the Bills that place is going to come unglued if Carr drops back on the first play and either gets hammered or throws a pick.

On the other hand an incompletion makes it 2nd and 10 at least, maybe even 20 (because Pitts is probably gonna hold if David has to go back there and wait for Corey or AJ to get deep)

A completion without penalty would definitely be a crowd pleaser though.

in order to win we're gonna need those bonus points (score off of our return game or a defensive touchdown.)

aside from that i wont believe it till i see it.

Their D is top 5, maybe even top 3, but I haven't seen much to indicate their D is better than the Bills.

Now let's hope your team goes out there tomorrow and proves me right.

It is possible for us to win tomorrow, but not probable.

I don't think we are going to win tomorrow, but we aren't going to lose every game this season either. We just have a very good chance of being 0-3.

The Steelers' Defense is just too good. They will either take away the run or the pass and then it will be a slow frustrating loss. We will manage to score around 10-13 points, but it won't be enough. They will score 17-24 points.

Come Monday this place will be lit up again with people demanding Carr be benched and Palmer fired. I think Carr is going to have another terrible day as the Steelers will simply do what the Bills did.

To win tomorrow Carr needs to find a comfort zone when he drops back and go through his progressions, not take off and run. No TO's always help.

We can poach this game, just need our high priced players to take care of business.

I'd also not give up on the run too quickly. The 3-4 is more gap-filled than the 4-3, so it's naturally a little bit weaker against the run. For a while, play the field position game, and hope Roethlisberger and Parker make some mistakes...in case you haven't noticed, their O isn't the most experienced bunch of guys. Big Ben, Willie Parker, and Heath Miller, all still very green, and all critical parts of the offense. They can be rattled, I assure you. It's just a matter of keeping it close so they never get to rest on their laurals.
