Early Bye Week

The early bye week could be a blessing for this team. It will give them a chance to make some changes before the season is totally lost. The question is, will this organization show the intestinal fortitude to make the necessary changes or keep going along with the status quo? If they do have the guts to make these changes, what will these be?

They'll have to make some sort of changes if things don't turn around against Pitt. Capers and the Coordinators jobs are resting on it. They better hope that sundays game was one of the flukes of a lifetime if they want to make it to next season.

HEAD coaching changes? No way. Nobody dumps a coach after going 0-2--especially not a team that's never had a winning record, and especially not if those losses aren't even upsets.

I do think that if the team really stinks it up again, there will be some quickly-announced tweaks. ("Offensive play-calling reassigned to Coach X" or something like that.) Win or lose on Sunday, I also think that early bye is a surprise blessing. This team seems to need craniorectal removal surgery, and a bye week may give them some time to fix some problems before the season careens out of control. A back-to-basics standdown is definitely in order.

Right now Houston's 0-1, just like half the league. 0-2 looks bad, but I don't think you'll see Capers in jeopardy until it gets to AT LEAST 0-5. I mean, why? Who would take over and do a better job in the middle of a lame-duck season? As a gesture to the fans, something would have to be done at least by midseason if the club continues to stink, but I just don't think it's going to be that bad.

David Carr will not be benched in favor of Banks, regardless.

I think the Texans will be 4-4 in the first half of the season. Right or wrong, that's enough to keep the buzzards away for now. This upcoming offseason could be brutal, though.

no way they will be 4-4.... losses to bills, steelers, Colts, Seattle = 4 The other 4 games we will be lucky to win half the time... so 2-6 will be more accurate. In fact, we'll be 3-9 after the first 12 games.

No way will you see changes only two games into the season. This will have to be a lost season before any changes are made and you don't judge progress on just one game. Take away the int's and it's a very close game. Need much better play from the qb. No excuse for all of the int's. Throw the ball away, not into the hands of the opponent. This last loss is on Carr, he's unable to find the open reciever, and he has had enough time. His throws have been way off, and he's just played downright bad for the past three weeks. When we correct, whatever, it is that's going on with Carr we will see an improved offense.

Not if it means they have a lot of time to prepare for the Bengals. I mean, look what a whole pre-season of preparing for the Bills got us. :fishing:

I think the bye week would help but to be honest they can make all the adjustments necessary but confidence is the real necessity with this team.
