Bob McNair on the Lockout

Every owner is putting out an interview of this kind, nothing to see here.

One thing the owners have going for them is that they are only 31 (Green Bay is publicly owned) people and for the most part they are staying on the script the league has laid out.

The players have around 1000 people with different levels of business savvy, and to many like to hear themselves talk. So there is always someone that will insert his foot into his mouth.

I am already sick of the rhetoric from both sides and just want my football offseason to be normal.

The Texans are one team that is going to need a full off season to fill it's hole and to implement the 3-4.

Texans owner Bob McNair, regarded as one of the tough-talking owners hoping to foist a bad deal onto the players, suddenly sounds like a guy wishing for a win-win outcome.
Really? How did that conception come to be? The tough talkers would seem to be the Richardsons and Browns of the league. I would consider McNair in the Robert Kraft group of owners who are trying to get a deal done.

The other owners have privately commented to Bob that they think he's very, very, very assertive and that they have nothing but respect for how he's running his team. They all agree he's on the right track and several of them have used the exact phrase "tough-talking" to describe him.

Rick & Gary both agreed with that assessment. Wade said that if Gary thought it was true then heck, it must be.

Huh? Wait.

Oh.

I see what you did there.

FANS: Mr. McNair, you've promised us a winner for the last 10 years. Not only don't we a have winner, but our piggy banks are getting wiped out waiting..........now, this lockout?

MR. MCNAIR: TOUGH TITTY!:bat:

"Mr. McNair's a good businessman who's a voice of reason, and I'd love to see him get involved," said Winston, one of the Texans' alternate player representatives. "He's a moderate voice."
PFT now realizes they were depicting McNair incorrectly.

I'm just glad McNair didn't characterize the negotiations as "close" or "on the right track".
