Vent to the board, don't concede defeated to the next opponent before we even play

Texans Pride

Ok here it is...

This is our board...WE go up and down with this team...We relish in our wins, and sulk in our losses....WE scream at each other when we piss each other off, and we high five when we have each others back.

After that miserable loss to the Bills on Sunday we vented and vented and vented....Heck, we are still venting, and that's ok to do with EACH OTHER!

But please....Don't concede defeat to our next opponents fans on our own board! I've been reading the threads about the Steelers and so many of us are saying to Stealer fans, "Congrats on being 2-0", "You guys are gunna kick are butts." "You all are going to kill us." "I would rather mow the lawn then watch your team kick the crud out of us." And of course my favorite, "I am begging you to DESTROY Carr on the 1st play from scrimmage. I want to see one of your defensive lineman stuff Carr's whole body inside his helmet on a sack. Of course then you will have to play a full game without laughing at total ineptitude."

I understand the feeling...I don't know where this team is headed, or what's going to happen, but I'm sure as heck not going to let someone come into my house (this board) and tell me that his/her team is going to slaughter mine, and then turn around and agree with them! We have to fight...We have to stand up for our team...vent to each other all you want, but stand up for YOUR team to the fans who come here and talk trash! I cussed up a storm at my house after the game; I was red from ear to ear. When I came on the board I vented my brains out, infact, I was venting 10 minutes ago. But when I went back to work on Monday morning and everyone was talking smack, and making Texans jokes, I supported my team, and battled the comments back.

This reminds me of when I was growing up...My brother was being a jerk and had done some real "unbrotherly" things; some of my friends we talking a lot of trash about him. I told my friends that the bad mouthing needed to stop or they were going to be dealing with me instead. I might have been upset with him, and he might have been being a real jerk at the time, but that's my family and I'll be damned if I'm going to let somebody bad mouth my family.

I sure hope are players aren't doing and saying the same thing, otherwise we are going to need more than new management.

Come on guys, find that Texans Pride that made you spend so much money on those PSL seats, that Texans Pride that makes you post on this board every single day, and that same Texans Pride that brings you to Reliant four hours early with your face painted red, white, and blue! :texflag: :texans: :fans:

WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE!!!

Excellent post! I WAS waiting until Sunday to come out of mourning but you just pushed me over the edge. Let's kick some Steeler A** boys!!!

I agree with you sentiments, man. :thumbup

However, there are times when we discuss things as fans, and other times we discuss them as analysts. As a fan, never boo your own team. As an analyst, at least if your honest and have any smarts, you can't deny the fact that our team has a monumental battle on it's hands - taking on the Steelers after last game's pitiful performance.

All that being said - be a fan on Sunday, and please, please - DON'T BOO OUR TEAM IN OUR HOUSE!

Amen to everything you just said!

I usually blast the team for off-season moves or bonehead coaching. If I get on the players then I'd have to get on the guys that picked the players. I would never BOO them, that is just totally classless. I'd would have gone livid if I saw those guys dump beer on Carr's wife. I can call my brother any name I want, but if someone else did that I'd defend him. Same with the Texans.

I've felt all along the best case scenario realistically for us was 1-1 going into the bye week, and honestly thought our chance to win that one game was atleast as good in our home opener as in Buffalo. After crushing the Titans
in their home opener, we shouldn't expect the Steelers to be "up" for us,
not that I think beating them is in any way not a huge assignment.
After this past Sunday, I have absolutely no idea what to expect from the
Texans this Sunday ?

Amen brother. Two teams I can't stand, one is the Cowgirls and the other is coming to Reliant this Sunday. Go Texans!

Nice post and very good points. I often find myself going over to other boards and defending things that I wouldn't dare defend here. Family is family.

However, I do disagree on one point. On Sunday, if the Texans play like they played against Buffalo, they deserve every boo they get and then some. That was a disgraceful performance on any level and these guys get paid millions of dollars.

The Texans can beet the Steelers. Don't let one bad game doom you. Every team will have a bad game (look at NE last year vs Miami). The Texans got their bad game out of the way early, that's all..........

Marc VandeMeer and Rich Lord said on Sports Radio 610 this afternoon, " If fans weren't venting I would be concerned. The fact that the fans are venting means they ARE concerned about the Texans and their outcome"

I think it is time to give Big Ben a tune-up. Let's open him up, throw his parts all around, and then let Cowher try to piece him back together!

Kind words Jag fan. However, I have to keep one eye on you. You know, the whole scorpion/frog story. :)

THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT...GO TEXANS!!!

I personally think we will come out and play good, but I do think that every dang team in the NFL is studying the game film of last week and know how to confuse our offense.
4 years and we are still trying to find a way to beat the cover 2
amazing
