ESPN Sportsnation - Coach Apporval Ratings

Ol' Dom is sitting at 20%. Could be worse, we could all be Viking fans with Tice at a confident 11%

:texflag:

You mean Ole Dom isnt DEAD LAST !? .... GO VOTE ! :brickwall

You gotta wonder about the "wingnut" factor in these polls. I mean, almost 1900 people have actually cast negative votes against Belichick. Yeah, HE just can't coach.

Bill Belichick has a 86% rating.

Who actually doesn't approve of the job he's done?

That would be trolls from other teams voting against him. As for the Jags ratings, that is because Texans, Colts and Titan fans are voting for Del Rio hoping the Jags keep him.

The 22% that are in favor of Capers are probably BILLS fans .... I cant think of anyone who "Approves" of him , his system , his Coaching staff , his motivation or his in game adjustments . :brickwall

Didn't one of the Jags players hurt themselves with that axe?
No way would (or is it wood?) a kicker hurt his leg...with an axe...given to him by his coach...in the locker room.

Not the fans, just the defensive players

I didn't vote, but seriously... the guy has improved the team every year he has been in Houston. Kinda hard to argue that he is stagnant and unsuccessful. The team loses 1 game against a brutal defense and you guys are screaming for his head. I don't get it. It sounds like the Bills board every week.

Dom's approval is up from last week, but he's still near the bottom... Coach Approval Ratings

At least they have bought themselves another couple weeks of excuses by firing Palmer. Here are a few post-game quotes from Dom:

"We just didn’t add the consistency in our execution it takes to beat a good football team like Cincinatti."

"We played a talented team and there is a reason why that team is 4-0 this year, I thought our team fought hard."

"David is progressing on schedule and will be fine."

"I thought our offense played better than it had the first 2 games. It's tough to get the ball to your wide receivers when they're running into double teams."

It's not that we lost those games. It's how we lost. It's like they didn't even care.

You must not have been paying attention to the personel blunders Casserly and Capers made this off season.

Capers being in the bottom of that poll makes perfect sense. Houston is tired of hearing about how good their team will be. The Texans should be good NOW.

14% Second to last. Whats the deal with only 1,719 votes? Come on people, vote and show your displeasure.

Who hired this guy in the first place ? And why ?

Was it mcnair himself, that did the hiring ?

Were there any other half-decent names he was thinking about ?

I'd rather see them put different game strategies in fortune cookies and let them crack open a surprise every week. At least then the opposition wouldn't be so ready for their PEE-WEE brained schemes.

Capers, in case your reading this, which you should, here's some different ideas for your fortune cookies.

4-5 WR sets

Put WRs in motion

Trips bunch

Learn how to run a good 3-4 defense or don't do it at all.

Let LBs go after QB, at least once

Send 6 defenders after the QB, at least once

Try to win, instead of always playing to barely lose

(and lastly - my favourite)

Stepping down as head coach, bring the GM with you, and give mcnair the names of any coach/person/clown you ever talked to, so we at least know who NOT to replace you with.

I feel better already :yahoo:

IF Capers is reading the message boards, we are in more trouble then we thought.

you mean we could be doing worse? when the bengals & browns are higher in the food chain, and we're getting compared to college teams, i dont care if he starts watching the oprah winfrey show for ideas.

So I guess all 10 Jag fans actually casted a vote....
Im not sure how they teach math in Texas but there is no way to 87% if only 10 people voted there smart one.

Up to 9310 votes now, and interestingly the percentage hasn't changed. I guess that means that 1000-odd was a pretty adequate sample, but not being a statistician I wouldn't really know.

As for 4/5 WR sets - dude, really, there's no point having that many wide receivers on the field if the only route you'll be able to find them on is a slant or a quick out. Our pass protection is just not up to it.

I'm not a Bills fan :)

These are the coaches that were available in 2002. The fact is we hired Capers technically in 2001, but these are the coaches we could have chosen from if McNair would have waited. Obviously Jon Gruden was not an option and neither was Callahan. Dungy, Shottenheimer, Green, and the countless other coordinators that were available. Now I have to say Shottenheimer and Dungy would have been nice pickups as would have been Herm Edwards, but Dom has not done a bad job, I would say he has done a hell of a job considering the personnel he has been given. We have improved every year, this year I think we are an improved team, but will have a worst schedule (and yes that does happen). The situation I have with our team at the moment is Fangio is using a defense that he seems to not be fond of and he seems to be a bit defensive and vanilla instead of aggressive. Some might say that is Capers fault, but Capers with the Steelers, Panthers and Jags was all about the pressure and sending crazy blitzes all day, so I say it is fangio. My approval is of Capers, but I dont approve of Fangio or the recently departed Palmer. My two cents though
TEAM ---------- OUT ------------------- IN

Buccaneers --- Tony Dungy ---------- Jon Gruden

Chargers ------ Mike Riley ------------ Marty Schottenheimer

Colts ----------- Jim Mora -------------- Tony Dungy

Panthers ------ George Seifert -------- John Fox

Raiders ------- Jon Gruden ------------ Bill Callahan

Redskins ---- Marty Schottenheimer -- Steve Spurrier

Vikings ----- Dennis Green ---------- Mike Tice

It's a foregone conclusion at this point, but get out and vote anyway.

This week's quotes...

"I thought our offense played better than it had the first 3 games. We had over 100 total yards of offense for the 4th game in a row so we're pleased with that. It's tough to get yards in this league."

"We just didn’t add the consistency in our execution it takes to beat a good football team like Tennessee. I knew it would be a field position game and that we had to keep them close until the 4th quarter."

"We played a young and talented team. I thought our guys fought hard."

"I thought David did a great job of throwing the ball away today."

9 percent of about 12,000 votes approve of Capers' job. That's a little more than 1000 votes of approval.

Maybe Capers has a big family.....?

Put my vote in. How he is 3 from last is beyond me. WE'RE THE ONLY FREAKIN' TEAM w/ 0 WINS!!!!!

Has to be fans from other teams that have played or will play us.

I would like to know which 10% approve? maybe its the other 31 NFL teams fans voting

Jag trolls most likely. Owww, more self inflicted pain after watching them beat the Bengals as well as Palmer playing well.
