Outside of Matt Schaub, I don't like our QB situation. Best QB I see right now out there is Kevin Kolb. What do we need to pick him up off the Eagles? Call me crazy, but I wouldn't mind swapping 1s with Philly and getting a 2nd for Kolb.

Kolb has valuable experience in the WCO, he most likely would love coming back to Houston, and spending what we did for him sends a real big message to Matt about being consistent and doing what you have to do to keep drives alive. Anyone remember how much better Matt played when Sage was here?

Most likely a very good NT and/or CB will be available at where we draft in the Eagles spot.
 
Except Sage was traded before Schaub threw for the 6th most yards all time...Back up QB is a need, but we have bigger fish to fry, IMO.
 
Schaub took alot of hits last year and played injured. All it's going to take is another few games with that many hits before Matt starts to get sidelined. This is a big year for Kubiak, and he can't possibly think that Dan O is going to manage games for us.
 
1.Why would the Eagles give up Kolb and a second round pick just to swap with us, when they can probably get a straight up first round pick or two second round picks for him from another team.

2. Why would kevin Kolb come to a team to be a backup, when he is already a backup in Philly? And he already has made it clear that he doesn't want to be a backup.

3. Why would we even even think about giving up a high draft position on a Qb when our defense was trash and needs the attention? I wouldn't mind acquiring a back up Qb, but with a fourth round pick or later.

OK, you said to - you're crazy. We aren't going to pay a premium price for a backup (with only one year on his contract) that wants to be a starter.

Kolb should be a starter somewhere. There are many teams that are desperate for a QB, and in my mind, he's far more value for a first round pick than some unproven rookie QB (especially considering the ridiculous signing bonus). If I was a team in desperate need, I'd have no problem trading a 1st for him. JMO
 
I wouldn't use my resources trying to make that deal.

I don't think we have the right situation to bring in Kevin Kolb...

You mean that in this proposed trade, the Texans would get Kevin Kolb, the Eagles 1st round pick, and their second round pick, in return for the Texans 1st?

Yeah, that is crazy. That's basically saying the Eagles need to pay us to take Kevin Kolb off their hands. The Eagles will find a team willing to give up at least a 2nd round pick for Kolb, but they won't be able to do that until the new CBA is signed.
 
We could really use an "elite" NFL QB around here. I know of one guy who is out there who is "elite" ... well at least he says he is.

Mr. Mittens? Alex Smith? Donovan McNabb?

I'm not following you here. Are you talking about QBs who've played in Houston before? I know of a player that used to play for the Bumblescum Mountaineers that used to run a lot of HB Passes. Maybe he would fit in seeing as how the last guy that threw HB passes fared.
 
Some speculation out there on different sites that suggest the Titans could/should be interested in Kolb.

They would be wise to do their due diligence in trading for Kolb. Do I want him to play for the titans? Hell no! However, if I was spearheading a QB search for an organization, he'd be the first and hopefully the last I look at.
 
I actually watched about every snap that Kolb took this year and he didn't look that great. He looked very average when he played. He had the recievers and knew the system so I would be very careful if I was a GM of one of the teams looking at him.

Are you referring to the craze known as Vince-anity? If so, then like I said...great at running HB passes. He wouldn't quite be able to muster up playing QB though...:kitten:
