Tony Hollings... we miss ya Reggie

Although Hollings did play better than Carr today, it sure would have been nice to have a decent kick returner on the field today.

How many personnel mistakes have we seen so far this year, from the draft to the cuts? Obviously it's harder to pick the right guys when there's more talent to choose from, however, it appears that these guys have no clue.

PBuc has been terrible at returning punts and now Domanick Davis is returning kickoffs. Another huge miscalculation by this staff.

Mathis should be returning kicks once he gets healthy. I don't know what's wrong with Buchanon, he was pretty good at it in Oakland.

I think you're thinking of Morency...I don't remember Hollings ever returning but I could be mistaken. Although him riding the bench probably still constitutes playing better than Carr today.

Exactly my point... This worthless peice of garbage of a player is riding the bench while there is a blatant need for a play making return guy.

To add salt to the wound, Swinton had like a 59 yd punt return today. Of course, he isn't good enough for the Texans. Hollings, or a backup rookie center are much more important. :ok:

Swinton ranks fourth in the NFL in kick-off returns (I know only after week 1) but 6 returns is a decent sample size and a 27.3 avg is better than anyone on the Texans, makes one wonder just what they where thinking when they cut Reggie

Also noticed one of my favorite CB's from last years draft Justin Miller who I mentioned as a bonus on kick-off returns is 3rd in the NFL in KO returns with a 30.3 avg. he led the nation last year :)

I hope Mathis is good to go this weekend. I think he will really impress people once he has a few chances to return. We won't even remember Swinton's name.

Kasper is another one of the cut mistakes. The guy was a go to guy in the end zone. Quite frankly JJ is better than what we have on the field right now, but I agree about Mathis. The only problem will he play this season. This injury seems to be getting worse rather than better. Of course they had to play him in the Preseason after he was injured because they didn't know whether he would make the team or not. Give me a break..................

How was Kasper a go to guy in the end zone? And already you are questioning whether Mathis will play this season? He played too soon, and it tightened up. It likely would have tightened up again if he played against Buffalo so they decided to give him another week. Looked like a good move after seeing that trainwreck.

yeah we're a team loaded with return specialists, so much we cut last years starter, then Swinton the best looking replacement just to find out Mathis is hurt & insert Domanick to fullfill his draft potential :brickwall

"As an offense, you have to be aggressive. You can't go back and resort to what we did our first couple of years when we were just trying not to lose games. Our offense is better than that. I think we can attack. Our mindset is that way, so we're going to try and do that."

Preach on Brother Carr.....

Sounds like Carr understands what needs to be done. I just wonder if anyone on the coaching staff has that understanding?

First Mathis is probably out this game also. Second Carr is right that is his comfort style of playing is very aggressive. I dont understand why we made roster changes to become faster and we are still not being agressive. Anyway did you see how DJ and Swinton did on sunday kinda nice. DJ is probably loving the fact that he is not in Houston.
