Paea suffered a possible tear to the lateral meniscus in one knee Monday, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. He was undergoing an MRI on Tuesday after hurting the knee during the opening practice for the North squad.

Writes Mortensen: "While the injury figures to jeopardize Paea's full participation at the scouting combine next month, it is believed that a normal recovery would not jeopardize his playing status for the 2011 season, pending the specific details of the MRI."

Paea was projected as a 1st to 2nd round pick with this injury teams will shy away maybe the Texans can use a later pick and get added value for that pick maybe a 4th or 5th rounder as long as the mri sugests a timely recovery.

He drops out of the first but should be picked in the mid to late 2nd round.

No way he drops out of the 2nd.

At Senior Bowl weighin he measured at 6'01" and 295 lbs. He's incredibly strong but I'd really like him to add at least 10 lbs. of weight without losing agility and athleticism to play NT.

a lot of experts and analysts say that his a dominate 4-3 DT but wont be suited to the 3-4

i would be surprised if we take him unless wade sees something no one else sees.

but i have to admit from what i have seen of him he is a BEAST

Polynesians, in particular Samoans are not subject to normal measurement constiction, muscle is so dense they more than make up for size with quickness & strength. I'm still unclear what excatly Wade Phillips covets in a 3-4 NT but I do feel regardless Stephen Paea is first round talent, however as we all know first round talent slips to the 2nd, heck sometimes much latter than that & vice versa some first round picks ain't first round talent either.

I was really looking forward to seeing this player in the Senior Bowl because his evaluations seem to be all over the place ? Maybe we'll atleast get to see Paea in Indy, though thats sure not like seeing him play.

If he's there in the 2nd and the Texans don't take him I quit. For real and forever, I would quit. The guy's talent is unreal, every single play he's destroying the OL, pushing a guy backwards and bouncing off that guy with quickness and agility from a big man to make a play. Not the most sound tackler but then again, he's like 22. Time to learn. Freak strength, takes 2 blockers to stop him cold. Even in the highlights, when he dives through the OL but isn't able to grab the runner....it isn't a win for the OL because he's left a gigantic damn hole that someone like oh say, BRIAN CUSHING should fare well following his lead.

You know, I'd be happy if he were taken at 11. If he's there 2nd round and the Texans pass, it better be for an eventual HOF safety.
