Actually, based on this years records, that schedule looks easy, especially compared to this year's schedule.

Our first Sunday night game, you know with Cowher playing his old team and all. :)

The NFC South looks stronger than it ever has been and the AFC North is always tough as i don't think the Bengals will be down forever either. Looks like Kubiak will get a chance to return here as the Denver coach, so we at least have a guaranteed one win :kubepalm:

I guess an 18-game schedule will blow this up or is there an assumption it won't kick in till 2012?

I think the worst thing that will happen is the preseason will be cut short this season, which i doubt many people care about.

Come on man!! You're already down on Cowher and he hasn't even been hired yet. No way he has a losing record his first year! :)

With a great draft and a great HC/Staff 9-7,10-6 is possible.

With the Sherman,Jackson/Calhouns of the world 6-10,7-9 most likely would happen.

Coaching means that much in the NFL. Ask K.C. Haley/Weiss/Crennell =playoffs.

Not that the Texans have seen a coaching staff like that on their sidelines in 9 yrs.

with Kubiak: 11-5
with Dungy: 13-3

unfortunately for Texan fans, the schedule is moot. No football in 2011. Screwed again!

At a glance that schedule looks easier than this years. There really were no Buffalo, Cincinnati or Carolina type teams on this years schedule (perhaps Denver or Washington?). There are always teams that make a huge upgrade from one year to the next though (like KC, TB, Jac this year), so the schedule could be tougher if some of those teams take a step in the right direction.

Anyone gonna go to the New Orleans game? I think I am gonna make that trip.

Titans by virtue of division tie break, I think. I took a quick glance earlier; I might be wrong.
You are correct. Have more self confidence. Try these daily affirmations (brought to you by Stuart Smalley):

I think that if we just get this defense fixed we could breeze through this schedule. The good teams always find a way to win. I think that if we just sign Champ Bailey for a few years to teach our young corners how to play and how to work hard. We could be a team to reckon with.

I don't see alot of easy games on that schedule. If we don't fix the D and get a two half offense, get ready for more disappointment.
On the other hand, the Texans and Titans had the hardest schedules in the league. The rest of the teams that had real tough schedules pretty much eeked into the playoffs or didn't make it.

Thanks for the tip, but I'd be (even more) unbearable with more self confidence.

I'm hearing that because of 3rd place finish rather than 4th place finish, Texans will play Miami and Oakland rather than Denver and Buffalo.

Just another reason they should have lost this game.

We own Miami and Oakland anyway. I'm not worried. If I had to pick two games we'd win for sure, I would probably pick those two....Carolina be damned.

The Texans are 5-0 all time against Miami and 5-1 against Oakland. Two teams Houston actually play good against.

While I'm happy there are at least a couple of teams against whom the Texans have actually performed quite well historically, those stats are utterly meaningless. Every year there are personnel and coaching changes on each side of the ball, so the Miami and Raiders teams the Texans have beaten so often will not be the same teams the Texans play next year (and neither will the Texans be the same).

Of course, that means the schedule is also just as meaningless for the same reason. ;-)

Not a lot of cold weather games to choose from. Guess I'll just have to see where Balt and Cincy fall in the sch.

We gotta play all three Fla teams next year. BOOOOOOO!!! That friggin SUCKS!!

We don't know the schedule for next year yet. The owners want to take the league to an 18 game schedule, and that'll be part of the off season CBA discussions. If that happens, you can throw this schedule out the window. You could use that same window for tossing out the same schedule if a new CBA isn't reached, which is always a possibility.

At any rate, the schedule doesn't matter. If the team can't win games, then what difference does the schedule make anway?

It gives us hope that there might be a chance we will play 7 teams that are worse than us, so we might squeak into the playoffs and get pounded by a good team that deserves to be there.

I see an 8-8 season unless our D gets some drastic changes, and thats putting us 3-3 in the division.
