No Texans-Broncos in South Texas

They opted to show Jets-Bears as the early game instead of waiting for the 3:15 game (Fox has the doubleheader this week) in the RGV. Guess I'm not surprised...but man, this hadn't really happened down here in the RGV since 05-06...I hate this feeling but I guess I have the team's performance to thank. I've never missed a game (either TV or radio) as we used to have the Texans Radio Network down here from 02-06when they would pull the plug on them TV-wise... :sigh:

Games not being shown in San Antonio either. They've chosen the Jets/Bears game early. At least according to my Directv guide. Not an issue for me with Sunday Ticket, but I feel for my fellow Texans fans here. If this was the Cowboys, someone would be shot at the local affiliate. Sorry, no excuse for not showing a Texas team in Texas, regardless of record imo.

Maybe McNair is right and the team is "on the right track". It took til week 15 this season for me to post my annual "the Texans brought it on themselves" when it comes to them being taken off TV in Texas. Most seasons that starts around week 10.

I agree with FirstTexan however the Texans have done nothing to build a fanbase in this state outside of just existing. Most of us that are fans are either x-Oilers fans or live here and hate the Cowboys. Outside of those 2 categories and people that live in the Houston area why would anyone else in this state want to root for this team?

The Jets/Bears game is a premier matchup with playoff implications. The Texans/Broncos game is a matchup between two underachieving teams who really stunk it up this season. Many Texans fans (self included) could really care less about the outcome of this game. Some are even rooting against the Texans in hopes that McNair will wise up and fire Kubiak.

The game is on here in Austin (at least last time I checked) however I will only be glancing at it. The Giants/Packers game is pretty much a playoff game and I am a Giants fan too so I will be watching that one to be brutally honest.

Same here in Corpus Christi. I suspect KZTV CH 10 is too stupid to know how to run only the late game.

At least we'll have it on the radio...

1230 AM and low power 103.3 an 96.1 fm in Corpus Christi.

Reminds me of growing up as an Oiler fan in Brownsville. During the stench that was the Ed Biles/Chuck Studley/Hugh Campbell era, the local NBC affilate did not broadcast games.

That did not stop me from phoning the station on Sunday morning to try to convice them to switch game feeds...for some reason the phone at the station was never answered. I was one P.O.ed 11 year old.
