Screw Ohio State

"I do know, having been both a Southeastern Conference president and a Big Ten president, that it's like murderer's row every week for these schools. We do not play the Little Sisters of the Poor. We play very fine schools on any given day.

"So I think until a university runs through that gantlet that there's some reason to believe that they not be the best teams to [be] in the big ballgame."

I can't say that I don't agree with him.

The biggest fear of the BCS schools is if one of these teams is successful. They do not want non-BCS cartel schools getting a piece of the money pie.

They don't want another Utah beating Alabama in Sugar Bowl or another Boise St. beating Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.

I want to see TCU beat the **** out of LSU and want to see Boise S. beat the **** out of Oregon.

Schedule 1: Oregon St, Tennessee Tech, Baylor, SMU, Colorado St, Wyoming, BYU, Air Force, UNLV, Utah, San Diego St, New Mexico

Schedule 2: Virginia Tech, Wyoming, Oregon St., New Mexico St, Toledo, San Jose St., Louisiana Tech, Hawaii, Idaho, Fresno St, Nevada, Utah St

Schedule 3: Arkansas St, Mississippi St, Clemson, South Carolina, Louisiana-Monroe, Kentucky, Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Chattanooga, Georgia, Alabama

Schedule 4: North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Mississippi St, West Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, McNeese St, Auburn, Alabama, Louisiana-Monroe, Ole Miss, Arkansas

4 teams above, 1 collective loss. The loss was by 7 points to #2 Auburn (score was tied with 5 minutes remaining in the game).

Ohio State and her fans make me wanna do this all day long --- :kubepalm: :wadepalm: :strangle:. Kirk Herbwhatever and Chris Spielman were talking down on Michigan and now OSU's President amkes a stupid remark like this.

I hope they get to the title game (unlikely, I know) because they sure know how to get beat down in the big one!

Looks like the Ohio State president apologized for some of his comments:

"I'm very blessed to have the best athletic director and best football coach in the country," Gee said, the newspaper reported. "They run the athletic program and I run the university, and I should have stayed out of there. What I should do is go over to the surgical suites and get my foot extricated from my mouth."

As for the real Little Sisters of the Poor -- a Roman Catholic women's religious order serving the elderly -- Gee said he had reached out to one of the order's homes in Ohio.

"I sent a [personal] check to the Mother Superior up there and invited her to a ballgame," he said, according to the report.

I wish he would have just stuck to his guns though.

Well Terrell Pryor has been suspended for the first 5 games of next year as well as some other players...

Looks like Karma strikes again...

Not sure why it is Karma? Gee's opinions means the football program should be punished?

It sounds like some one forgot to specifically tell the players not to sell stuff and they thought they found a loophole.

So the 2011 season is a wash.

So $1500 gets you 5 games and $200,000 gets you the Heisman?

And we all know EVERY major school cheats - it's a matter of who gets caught when.

Yankee? Where for art thou Yankee to defend your mighty alma matter? Screw it all, they need a playoff.

Defend what? I want a playoff. Gee doesn't. I talked with him in person in October. When asked WHY - he really didn't give what I thought was a good reason. Paraphrasing - he thinks a playoff will make players be treated like star athletes and less like students - errr, that bridge was crossed how many tens of years ago?!

I've got no issue with suspensions when they're warranted, but selling stuff that BELONGS TO YOU....WTF?

While I think it's a stupid thing to do and shows a certain lack of respect, I still don't see why the NCAA has an issue with it.

If they violated NCAA rules and are being suspended next year, why are they still eligible for this seasons bowl game (Sugar Bowl). Shouldn't suspensions be immediate? I guess they want to keep their star talent around for their big money games, big spotlight, biggest recruiting tool game. Such hypocrisy....

I agree 100%.

And I don't get how they can fine them...

Had they already graduated, how in the world could they expect to re-coup money?

If I were the athletes I'd talk to a lawyer...

Agreed.

This just stinks all the way around...

Family gets $200,000.....no problem.

Sell some of the stuff you earned.......get suspended (but only after they make money off of you in the bowl games). Nice....

I hope Mark Cuban succeeds.

Question: Since when did the NCAA give options on being suspended?

Dez Bryant got caught getting gifts or perks and was out that second for the rest of the season. Pryor and Co. get caught and they get options on when to be suspended? Doesnt seem right.

Too funny.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...buckeyes-quarterback-dodge-nfl-draft-question

After the game, Pryor was asked if he would live up to that pledge and his answer was classic.

"Alright."

What kind of answer is that? The best part is how he wasn't even questioned about it after the fact. The sideline reporter just let him go along his merry way. He avoided the question on national television and, if I was an Ohio State fan, I wouldn't have felt too good about hearing that.

I don't think anyone believes the NCAA is in this for the students and education. It's all about the money and if they suspend those five players then this game is a huge flop and they lose ratings and money. It was completely a financial move on their part, but 5 games is a lot considering previous penalties. So I guess it's even.

We have a winner!

I knew the BCS was a joke but now I am starting to think the football part of the NCAA is, too.

NCAA: Mr. Bryant, did you hang out with former NFL star, Dion Sanders?
Dez: Yes I did.
NCAA: 12 GAME SUSPENSION!!!! YOU ARE DONE FOR THE SEASON!!! Muahhahahaha!

NCAA: Mr Pryor and Co., did you sell items, and receive improper benefits?
Pryor and Co.: Yes we did.
NCAA: Ok, well we need a good BCS game Tuesday, so why dont you serve a 5 game ban next year if you return?
Pryor and Co.: Aughh.
NCAA: Will we see you next season for Ohio State?
Pryor and Co.: Aughh.

NCAA: NEXT!!!

Brandon Spikes eye gouges a dude in a game.

NCAA: ...
Florida: We will suspend Brandon for 2 quarters against Vanderbilt. Now that will teach him!
NCAA: No further action necessary, Florida has suspended him on their own. The system is a success!
Everyone else: 2 quarters?? WTF?

Blount punches a guy in the jaw after a game.

NCAA: (twiddles thumbs)
Oregon: We are suspending him for the rest of the season!
NCAA: Oh yeah, we were gonna do that, but they took care of it. Good job Oregon, the system is working perfectly, just like our bowl games!

... 6 weeks later...

Oregon: Yeah, about that suspension, he's learned his lesson and he won't be punching anyone else, so we are reinstating him.
NCAA: The system worked perfectly! PS: **** Dez Bryant

NCAA: Cam, did your dad ask for $200,000 and his church magically got out of debt and disrepair?

Cam: Yes.

NCAA: Did you know any of this was going on?

Cam: Not a clue.

NCAA: Great, here's a Heisman and a BCS Title. Feel free to flip off Dez and the Buckeyes when you score Monday night.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - A series of central Ohio billboards praising TCU takes an apparent jab at Ohio State and its president, Gordon Gee.

Gee has said Big Ten and Southeastern Conference teams deserve to play in BCS bowl games more than schools such as TCU because they play tougher opponents, not "the Little Sisters of the Poor."

The message displayed — once a minute on the 20 Columbus-area digital billboards — reads, "Congratulations to TCU for their BCS Rose Bowl Victory." It's signed, "Little Sisters of the Poor."

Now THAT is good stuff!

TCU beat Wisconsin who beat.... OSU.

I know you cant say who is better off of this (teams match up differently), but I thought it was funny.
