What I hate about the Colts

They are the best team in the AFC South. I know it, you know it, and the media knows. That is the problem. Because they are seen as such a heavy favorite our division misses out on a lot of national media coverage.

The media will often go into great detail debating about who will win the AFC West Is it the Cheifs or the Chargers....don't count the Broncos out. 5 minute debate.

The AFC North...Steelers look threatened by the Ravens and some pick the Bengals to win the Superbowl. 5 minute debate.

AFC East...lot of people picking the Jets this year and the Patriots are the defending champs with Bills as the dark horse. 5 minute debate.

AFC South..."And the Colts have the AFC South wrapped up". 3 second statement.

I don't blame the Colts, their offense is just that good with Peyton running the show but it hurts the rest of the AFC South.

Guess we need to beat the Colts. If Manning gets injured the AFC South would get interesting real fast.

I don't think their #2 QB ever had a pass thrown in the NFL. Unless they came up with new schemes, I'm sure NFL coaches were looking at ways to stop them in the off season.

When we do play the colts I want to see a pass rush like no other...If we can just shake up peyton then he will be easier to pick apart...Thats a few games ahead of us though so im not gonna worry about it for now.

See I've been thinking this for going on two seasons. Just send everybody. One guy on each eligable reciever and everyone else meet about one inch in front of Peytons spine. First one there is responsible for knocking the snot out of him and putting him on the ground so that the other guys don't accidentally hit him too.

Do you get burned? Sure, maybe even a couple of times but honestly now, if you can't put a thumping on him bringing the whole house then you aren't going to win that game anyway. I haven't seen Peyton play too much with aches and pains up and down his body and sucking air because that last time he got up from beneath a 300lb NT.

I've seen what David Carr looks like when he gets up and tries to play like that, now I'd like to see Peyton do his best impersonation of his dad Archie back in the "glory days" of his career with the Saints.

See the Green Bay game last year, that's not gonna help, and you still have to get around one of the best o-line's in the league.

But I agree, you guys deserve more air time, but the media is fickle, they want to talk about the hot topic, and that just happens to be the colts.

good call LBC_Justin. thats a game when it comes to Relient HAS BEEN NO FUN TO WATCH AT ALL.
Hervoyel- are you insane in the membrane? such talk of bodily dismemberment :ouch:
however we can all agree that the Colts SUCK, and why? because they beat up all the average Joes and lose to New England every single year when it counts. they make everyone they tricked I mean beaten look worse than they really are and we're not going to take it anymore :ok: plus the Colts uniform is plain boring, our cheerleadrs are better looking and so is Carr, ha gotta there :texans:

Aside from Manning's head being too big -- literally and figuratively (literally because Bill Belichick actually LIVES inside Manning's head) -- I don't mind the Colts too much. I'm kind of surprised so many pundits are picking them to win it all this year though. Even with the recent addition of Simon and a solid pick in Marlin Jackson, their D still has a good number of holes. Plus, until he actually wins a game against the Patriots, I'll never bet on him in Foxborough (if it comes down to that again).

See the AFC playoffs 2 years in a row, NE gets in his face and OWNS him.

You do not want national media attention before you are a consistant winner.

Take my word for it

The Colts, along with being a division rival, are on my poop list because of running up the score against our Texans last year in Manning's drive to beat Marino's TD record.

They easily had the game wrapped up, but Manning was calling passing audibles at the line so he could be the "greatest". Personally, I hope he gets all the records, including the one about most losing playoff appearances. :D

Hey, all. Obviously, I'm a Colts fan! I am not here to troll (I say that on every board I post on, and if I start to, call me on it).

I don't think you want to bring the house against Manning. Manning has one of the quickest drops and releases in the game and his receivers know how to get open. Like someone on here said, just go back to the Green Bay game, and you'll se what happens when you send the house. If you really want to see how to stop Manning, go to the NE games. They were able to bring pressure without too much blitzing. This allowed them to cover the receivers and take away options from the Colts offense. That's how you beat this offense and Manning.

And to the person who has the Colts on their "poop list" (I call it a fecal roster) because they ran up the score on the Texans, I was at that game. The Colts were definitely trying to run the ball and eat the clock to wind down the game. The Texans were stuffing the box with 9 and sometimes 10 to stop the run. The Colts tried to run on it several times without success (tough when the box is stuffed). So the Colts went back over the top. You can't expect them to just give the ball back. They were just taking what was given and trying to control the game. If Manning wanted the stats, he would not have sat out like he did last season, especially toward the end of the season when the chase was really on.

The Texans are an enigma to me this year. They should be better, but you could also make the case that they won't be. I suppose if they can shore up their offensive line and give Carr a chance, it will be better for them. It's pretty tough to throw from your back. I do think they can beat Buffalo this weekend, but they'll have to have a great game.

Good luck, and here's to an injury-free season!

"Fecal roster" :thumbup Funny! And a niiice way to put it.

Regarding running the score up, this is from one of your own homer websites, Indystar.com

While Indianapolis averaged 8.3 yards a play, Houston netted -5 yards in the first quarter and only 64 yards in the first half. They did not score until late in the third quarter after Aaron Glenn intercepted a Manning pass.

The Texans found it offensive and disrespectful that, long after the game had been decided, the Colts kept running their offense. Houston players and television analyst Randy Cross were particularly upset that the Colts, rather than running the ball in the fourth quarter, continued to pass - a move Cross referred to as having "no class".

Manning continued his pursuit of Dan Marino's single-season touchdown record with his third five-touchdown game of the season.

Dude, the Texans were a beaten team. Not even scoring until late in the third quarter!!

Why did Manning even stay in the game at that point?!

Trying to "control the game"?! They had it wrapped up!!

Don't even go there, man. Your QB was record chasing, pure and simple. :loser ;)

p.s. (he sat on the bench late in the season because coaches were resting him for the playoffs. I'm sure you know this and just want to defend your QB, but it's an illogical defense.)

Don't worry, though, no hard feelings. What comes around, goes around.

Hey, Double Barrel, it's all good. I'm just speaking as someone who was there. It even felt like the Colts were holding back at times (by the 4th). I will say that it was obvious the Colts wanted to run the ball and eat the clock, and the Texans were determined to make sure that didn't happen. There were times when there were 9 in the box. So the COlts went back over the top.

You may or may not believe it, but Manning says he wasn't worried about the record, and in fact it became an irritant, always being asked about it. It was just one of those seasons where everything just clicked and that O went off on almost everybody. As to the homers, you'll always have them. No excuses there. It's always fun when your team is blowing someone out (and never fun when it happens to you), and people just get into it. And it did happen enough (not braging, really), that you really did start to expect it. It was just a magical season that way.

Anyway, here's to a great season, and NO INJURIES!

You do realize that NE ends everyone's seasons that make it to the playoffs, right?

SO you must hate every team for just beating the average joes (the entire NFL besides the patriots)?

coltsrock, no problem, man. It's all in the spirit of competition. And as cycles go, there will be a time when we'll be on top and your team will be on the bottom...at least, that's what we keep hoping for! ;)

Shoot, we're 0-6 against your team, so you can't blame us for a little bit of spite. :heh:

I agree with you, though, "here's to a great season, and NO INJURIES!" You're a class act. :)

Go Texans! :texflag:

Every day I wake up and draw breath into my lungs, i enjoy knowing that I am one day closer to the day Peyton Manning retires.

:jam:Heres to the Colts going 1-15 in 2013 :jam:
