CBS has the Texans @ 25 , Fox @ 22 ... No respect as usual ..... I cant complain , I havent given them much myself . 22-25 sounds about right to me . :tv:

Now in their fourth year, this should be a playoff team. But have they done enough to make that happen? Is David Carr ready to take a major step?

David Carr will silence some doubters in 2005, as Carr-to-Andre Johnson will be one of the league's top QB-WR connections. But the Texans failed to address their O-line issues from a year ago, when Houston allowed 49 sacks. The other interesting development is on defense, as the Texans cut loose two of their top three tacklers from last fall (LBs Jamie Sharper and Jay Foreman) in hopes of increasing their quickness.

The full effect of Carr to Johnson won't come to fruition till Johnson gets more time to get down the field (next year). I think it will take our defense some time to play cohesively with the new personnel, but I expect them to be better than average by the end of the year. But their record won't show it due to a poor start... by next year our offense will be above average too, so I'm confident we'll make the playoffs next year, but this year we'll just have to be patient... :brickwall

I am not taking this BS!!!!!

I want them to produce NOW!!! You hear! Now..... I mean why not, this is our fourth year. I am not buying this "cohesive" crap! They had 3 years to be cohesive! Thats long enough...

This team is going to have some seriously angry fans, I can see, when we almost inevitably have a losing record through the first half of the season. Hang in there, because the 2nd half will probably be MUCH better. This is assuming, of course, that we don't lose key players for the season do to injury. In the second half, our LB crew will be gelling and our schedule will be easier. With Payne healthy, Peek starting, and TJ coming in on obvious passing downs, we should see a lot of improvement in the pass rushing department, especially on Peek's side of the ball. Even Babin will do somewhat better in the sack department with a better D-line in front of him and Peek will learn throughout the season what to do right when he's not blitzing. I still think the O-line will be better, but it's also still gonna get kicked around by Buffalo and Pittsburgh. Right now, I just hope Carr and the receivers have their route choosing and route timing acts together. Oh, and I really hope Gaffney starts Sunday. If Bradford plays, there better be 2 other wide-outs on the field or I'm gonna throw up on the TV.

We'll never get a BCS bid starting this low in the polls. Shucks.

this article was posted 7 hours ago .... The writer didnt even bother to check his story against the Texans final roster ..... What a joke .

He has these players w/ the team

Preston Parsons , B.J. Symons , Reggie Swinton , Kenneth Pettway , Zeke Moreno , Chad Beasley, Quincy Monk , Frank Chamberlin and Chris McKenzie .... Not a one of these guy's made the final roster . You would think that someone writing for Fox would bother to check their work . (although ONE is on the practice squad )

Hey, any publicity is good publicity.... right?

"Any team with Dom Capers or Norv Turner at the helm will underachieve."

He also projects the Texans to finish last in the division at 4-12. There are a lot of sports writers predicting similar results. Let's hope they're not right.

According to http://houstontexans.com/team/roster.php the practice squad consists of .....This is normally a good source of information as its the official web site of the Texans . I see no mention of McKenzie , only Pettway is listed among the 8 players on the PS.

Anderson, Jason ...Rb
Halterman, Aaron ...Te
Jones, Garrick ...T
Lord, Jammal... Fs
Malone, Alfred... De
Morgan, Donovan... Wr
Pettway, Kenneth... Lb
Washington, Maurice... Wr

If we were #22 for Fox and #25 for CBS, what will we be this week. I'm guess 28 or 29, but a 30+ # wouldn't shock me either. :brickwall
