Texans 2005 Predictions

Exascor

Veteran
The roster is set. The preseason games are over. Only some small changes (if any) will be made before we head to Buffalo. It's time to pull out your crystal ball and predict the future.

What win/loss record will the Texans end the season with?

I'll start with 8-8 with us not being in real playoff contention the entire season due to a rough start. We salvage the season late.

7-9 Capers is looking for a new job next year and you all get Jerry Gray as your new HC..

Trust me, you would regret it if you passed up Jerry Gray.

6-10 or 7-9. Slow start for the offense - it will not begin to click until after the midway point of the season - not in enough time to make a run for the playoffs. The offseason could be interesting...

I agree but I dont think our defense will play at its full potential until the last half of the season

Im more concerned with the offense being consistant . I think they will struggle early and maybe by game 9-10 put it together .

a combination of their opponents and the texans current state of progress will yield a horrible start for the season... 3-9 after the first 12 games, however they will win at least 3 or 4 of their last 4 games, creating some hope for next year when they will make the playoffs.

Texans should go 9-7 with wins over:
Buffalo
Cincinnati
Tennessee x 2
Cleveland
Jacksonville x 2
Arizona
San Francisco

I know we haven't beat Cincinnati yet but I believe this year will be the year. And there is no way they will prepare for Cleveland the way they did last year. Whether it was lack of concentration or whatever they will not let that happen again.

not bad but I don't think we'll beat KC or STL

Yeah, usually what happens is that they win a game I've predicted they'll lose but lose a game I've predicted they'll win. Either way, it balances out.

8-8

I'll stick to my original 10-6 if all goes well. I'd be pretty surprised if we didn't get at least 8-8 this year if we make it through relatively injury free.

I'll go with 6-10, our defense kept us in a lot of ball games and I don't see us as better this year, younger and faster, but not better. But the first win is at BUFFALO!

8-8. We will win at Buffalo. I just have a hunch that the unit that will do the most scoring will be our defensive unit.

There it is, my neck is in the guilliotine, but I am hooked on a feeling.

10-6 , Catastrophic start (0-5), followed by a tragic news story of chris palmer being egged and dragged through the street, after which the newly inspired Texans finish, (without their newly relocated, former OC) an astonishing 10-1 over the last half of the season.

IMPORTANT NOTE!!! I am NOT advocating anyone physically harming chris palmer. although....

Too funny Toro ROTFLMAO... crying. Where's Buddy when you need him ? You made my weekend Toro, ty.

Put me down for 7-9. I am not as optimistic as I was earlier in the offseason. I have had a few head scratching moments, and I had another one yesterday. Unfortunetely, I have been right on the nose the first three years. Hopefully, for the first time, I am wrong. :tomato:

For whatever the reason I find it harder this year to even try venture a guess to what the Texans record might turnout to be. I've said all along 8-8 but looking at the schedule for this to happen would take some surprises along the way.

The first half of the season will be the real struggle. In a best scenario, I see them going .500 over the first 12 games. Then they blow through the last games. This gets them into the playoffs. They win their first playoff game ever just because they are riding a tide.

Worst case scenario: I could see the Texans going 5 wins because they totally reworked the Defense without answering the big offensive questions: the front five).

I love the texans but from what I have seen they will be lucky to win 5 games this year. Heck I think that USC or Longhorns would win their fair share of games against this texans team. In my opinion play calls and managment will be responsible for most of their losses this year.

I calls um like I sees um.

After todays performance, the Texans will be lucky to see a 6-10 year. Capers and crew do not know how to adjust the game plan. The last time I saw anything blowing as hard as this coaching staff it was labeled Katrina.....

So how many points will the Steelers put up on them .....I doubt they will have to settle for field goals like the Bills did .
