STEEL BLUE TEXANS

I know everyone on this board, myself included, is incredibly jealous watching these 2 defenses play football.

Big Ben just got his nose broken. Haloti Ngata is a manbeast.

Great game. Like you guys I love this kind of football.

I could have done without the Costas impression of Jim Mora just now though. "Plieyoffs, PLIEYOFFS." Go smell a hot dog at Ebbets Field, Bob.

The day Ray Lewis retires I would be calling him and offering whatever it took to get him on my coaching staff. He completely sparks and motivates that defense and has for many years. He has an intensity on every single play that I'm not sure I have seen in my lifetime in the NFL.

See Mike Singletary.

I always liked Mike Singletary, but I believe Lewis has a fierceness Singletary doesn't even possess. And besides, I didn't say I'd make him head coach. Position coaches and defensive coordinators are very important also.

See Houston Texans defense...

Ravens looked like the Texans at the end there. Let a blitzer go free on a play that should have never been a pass anyway.

Got JJ?
Thanks.

Big winds? Throw the ball.... right.
Right actually. Look at McFadden and see what's going on there. Don't run into the teeth of a mean Pittsburgh line when the pass, especially the pass toward a McFadden-laden reciever has been working. (I wish I knew how many TO's Baltimore had left...lol) It isn't like a Hail Mary where the wind would really effect the ball. At 3rd and 2 the wind wouldn't be a factor. If they ran that wouldn't be the worse thing either since it's four-down territory, but I would have passed.

Ah, Football!
I think I say this every time these two play, but it's nice to watch actual NFL caliber defenses doing work.

And Lucky, you're right about that. Ooo boy, Schaub better wear a little thicker padding for this one.

Ravens are going to kill us Monday Night. The only hope we have is the score won't be embarassing because the Ravens aren't a score 60 type of team.

Harbaugh pulled a Kubiak (to the extreme) and ignored Ray Rice.

Wonder if the board here would explode if Arian only got 9 carries throughout a close game.

I don't think the Ravens are going to kill us.

I'd like to see it happen, but I just think the Texans will play well enough to keep it close or maybe even pull out a surprise win.

That had to be one of the BEST football games I've seen in YEARS! The Steelers are on their way to :trophy:x7The refs seem to be oblivious to cheap shots and late hits when they happen TO the Steelers. WTF NFL? That hit on Miller should have been flagged and fined and why was there no call for punch Roethlissburger in the nose?

Got JJ?
Fair enough, but I'm curious why NEITHER play received an on the field call.
IMO the technology looking over their shoulders has dulled their sense of urgency to get it right on the field at the crucial moment. When I called baseball or football games I knew there was nothing to fall back on so I'd better get it right and be to the point about it. I wonder what I would be like knowing that there were cameras and rules to correct me when I screwed it up and no consequence when I did.

Usually a replay can correct the problem before the page is turned, but clearly not everytime.
