One very important thing that needs to happen to win is for Pollard to show up and make a statement by knocking the piss out of some people. Might even get his contract renewed.

Only if it doesn't warrant us a 15 yard penalty. I like the guy, and although you can't question his heart......you have to start questioning his brain with some of the boneheaded penalties he causes and plays he gives up.

:kubepalm:

Working?
Michael Vick refuses to slide.
Bernard Pollard hits QBs hard.

A few early knocks could potentially help Vick choose to stay in the pocket

Pollard is a hard hitter. One of the best in the league when it comes down to toughness. Maybe a couple of pollard hits on vick will slow him down :doot:

I for one would not be sorry to see Pollard lose his starting job or not be resigned.

While he can hit, I'd rather not have his glaring deficiencies in the passing game on the field.

I think the problem is that you can have a guy like Pollard in your secondary if you have a legitimate NFL quality starter at the other S position. Wilson is GARBAGE. He's quickly becoming my least favorite Texan. He is slow, out of position constantly, can't catch, poor at tackling, lacks closing speed, can't cover a baby with a blanket, takes bad angles and I hear he beats up kids and take their lunch money too. Ok.. so only one of those is wrong... He's atually a good guy off the field from everything I've read but his football IQ is extremely low.

If Wilson/Nolan was half decent in support you could afford to have Pollard on the field. In fact, I'd rather keep Pollard because when it comes to stopping the run he is in my opinion one of the very best in the league. He is more of a classic strong safety than we've ever seen in the Texans organization (we've always had the 'interchangable' safetys). He is a little below average in coverage for a SS but not so much that it justifies losing the outstanding support he provides against the run.

Just MHO.

Didn't Wilson win some Superbowls with Harrison?

Beat me to it. I was gonna say the exact same thing. Roy Williams had the same support his first few years in Dallas and he was a Pro Bowler during those years. Roy Williams and BP are very similar in that they are great run stuffers but can't cover well. Teams learned how to beat Roy Williams and they use the same techniques against BP. Eugene Wilson is a backup Safety at best, and he should be the first thing we upgrade in the offseason.

Nah, he'll do that anyway. What he needs to do is to learn how to freakin cover. He might be our biggest liability in the secondary.

Bernard Pollard is just another Roy Williams 2.0, can knock the piss out of you but couldn't cover a cold bum on a park bench with a warm blanket. He has given up 8 red zone TDs this year and has dropped 2 INTs that would have changed the game....

Needs to quite worrying about his dam talk show and start worrying about how to cover a WR and TE...

Pollard is overrated. There is more to playing SS than piss knocking, such as coverage and tackling. Both things that Frank Bush consistently fails to go over in practice.

Agreed. I'm glad they finally started blitzing with him. It only took 11 weeks. I'd rather him coming after the QB than trying to cover someone. At least then he knocks the piss out of the QB.
