Kareem Jacksons Coming Out Party

Joe Texan

Inducted 04
With the third string quarterback Rusty whatchamacallit the Titans might make our defense look all pro.

...........or the Texans secondary might make Rusty Smith look like an All-Pro.

I hope you are right Joe and I'm wrong.

Seems we have quickly fogotten the SD game and no name scrub Ajiritoutou having a coming out party instead of the other way around.

I sincerely hope KJ balls cause I am really pulling for him, but, we all know...

"...Kareem Jackson will fall down"

so you are now on board with the whole 'Kubiak Must Go' program?

if so, sorry took you so long but jump on board, you are welcome here.

if not, please wake up and smell the fail. nothing like the smell of fresh fail in the morning.

Ball's underthrown? Kareem's got it covered!

Everyone is always talking crap about Kareem Jackson. Brice McCain should be the one catching most of the flak, that guy really sucks.

The overwhelming problem with Quin and Jackson is the coaching they are receiving. They have plenty of talent to be successful.

Our coaches don't even understand that they need to eliminate the sideline when there is 40 seconds left at the end of the game:

Head coach Gary Kubiak
(on Football Night in America criticizing the coaching for CB Jason Allen’s positioning on the 42-yard pass to WR Braylon Edwards) “I don’t know anything that happens on these shows, so obviously you know more than I do. We’re playing two-man. He was not supposed to be on the outside. He’s working his inside hip. We’re in trail all the way, but we’ve got to stay with him. Obviously, as a safety we can keep our width and not get so involved with the inside routes, so we can play the coverage better. I don’t know what they’re talking about.”

So basically they think it's easier for the safety to run all the way to the sideline to cover it rather than having the corner eliminate the sideline from the start? Very curious/stupid.

How about coverage down on the goal line?

(on the positioning of CB Brice McCain on the four-yard touchdown pass to Braylon Edwards and leaving the middle open) “We’re in a zero-coverage. You’re right. We should take away the inside. No, there’s no way we should get beat on a slant right there, so we’ve got to get that fixed. That’s our fault as coaches.”

I don't think it's really fair to judge anybody on this defense outside of Brice McCain and maybe Bernard Pollard. Those are the two guys that look like they would be lost regardless of coaching. McCain is getting pushed around more than maybe any corner I have ever seen.

edit: Oh yea, Okoye maybe too. He gets pushed around pretty well.

The corners falling down is due to poor technique (coaching) and coaching. Didn't see Kareem Jackson falling down at Alabama.

Another reason Quin and Jackson look so sucky is our safeties just can't be trusted. Playing corner has alot to do with being able to trust the guys behind you. It's hard to play the corner position when your safeties are constantly out of position.

Dude, after this game... Rusty will look like a future Hall of Famer.

How would you feel if you had the worst secondary in the history of the league for your first NFL start? Dude's probably got all the confidence in the world right now.

What about when the worst secondary in the history of the league shuts him down? His confidence is going to be shot and the Titans will lose their remaining games.

IF you don't expect anything then you can't be let down.

I am sooooooo tirrrrrrred of being let down! :smiliepalm:

Had Rusty mocked out to Texans in 7th rd. last year where if Texans had taken him, would have languished on the bench :headhurts:

Rusty will have his agent waiting to renegotiate with Bud right after the game . He'll have a 300 yard game and no VY as leverage .

I know our secondary has been bad but this dude has actually continued to play well. Rivers is making alot of guys look good.

Does anybody remember the Ryan Fitzpatrick game back in '05?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we watched the sequel this Sunday. It would be fitting, '05 was Capers' last season..

I lived through that. Some of the 'fans' left thinking the game wad over.

Until Reliant becomes a true House Of Pain we will never be squat.you don't talk about dominating and roll out the 32nd ranked defense. You dominate with your play, not your mouth. The current regime is wayyyyyyyyyyy to passive. Heads must roll

Go texans

Jackson and Quinn have had a bad year, but piss poor play from McUtah and our FS (****-up safety) and our SS (Shitty Safety) haven't helped their cause much. Nor the unimaginative pressure packages. Our D is so bad this year, it's hard to tell who is the problem.

Check out all the first round cornerbacks in their first year since 2005.

KJ overall numbers (prorated for the whole season) trails only Revis:
KJ: 78 tackles (per nfl.com), 13 PDs and 3 Ints
Revis: 87, 17, 3

Here are some names:
2009 Malcom Jenkins (drafted #14)
2008 Leodis McKelvin #11, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie #14, Aqib Talib #20
2007 Darrelle Revis #14, Leon Hall #18, Aaron Ross #20
2006 Antonio Cromartie #19
2005 Pacman Adam Jones #6, Carlos Rogers #9

Most of these guys have had better help at safeties.
Some were helped by their pass rush, not to mention better zone drop by their LBs.
Yet some of them didn't even recorded a single INT.

The above numbers do not tell the whole story, but they can be seen as a general guideline.

IMO, the thing is people are over-expecting.
KJ is having one of the best years among rookie cornerbacks drafted at the same spot or higher.
You can even go back several more years to see how other rookies did.

Seeing some kind of commercial yesterday about some wrist bands that give you balance and strength

I wonder if these bad boys would keep Jackson from falling down

The guy has been relatively quiet these last couple of games opposed to how the season started and that is a good thing for corners
