Jacques Reeves takes shots at Texans

It sux that I really miss Reeves..

This secondary is hot garbage.

remember when some of us were pointing this out after week 3 and everyone freaked out that we dare say a word.

How times have changed.

This secondary is pathetic. But it's ok, I'm sure Pollard will have a few laughs at the Shiner Whiner line today with Blimp and Hair on the afternoon show on 610.

F:gun:A:gun:I:gun:L:gun:

I've been following Reeves on Twitter just to see what he's been up to and was getting ready to start this thread myself.

I think the decision to go younger in the secondary was monumental.

Reeves was a board goat for most of the time that he's been here, but he was at competent.

I can only guess that he and Dunta weren't fans of Gibb's system. They probably would rather be in the correct position instead of one in that requires that they overpursue and miss tackles or let receivers walk into the end zone.

Bad apples. Good thing they're gone.

</sarcasm>

Could not agree more. The position they are in when the receivers are catching the ball puts them at a disadvantage, but that is the scheme.

I think he said it all when he said "Good coaching is underrated." You can see it in the players eyes. You can hear it in the players remarks. Matt saying we weren't trying to score. One of the Dline saying Bush finally let us go. They aren't stupid they can see what is happening. They are trying to let the cat out of the bag a little, but still are showing respect.

He's right.

And who could sit here with a straight face right now and say they'd rather have Brice McCain than Jacques Reeves?

I've been crying to have Reeves back for weeks.

Put him on one side, GQ on the other, and KJ in the slot. McCain shouldn't see the field in anything other than dime.

Jacques Reeves ain't nothin but another Kelvin Cato...

Ay yo Jacques, having a job in the nfl isn't underrated, which is why you don't have one.

No wonder he surrendered in coverage with that french name.

This is one of those guys that I suspect is selling information.

A disgruntled, out of work, former Texans player who has deep knowledge of the system and its alignments and calls and tendencies.

Reading that tweet just made me more in favor of my conspiracy theory.

I think Sage obviously tipped the Giants to our system(s), but that's expected.

I think there's a guy or two who, on the other hand, is offering that information up to more than just one team. I'm teling you guys...there's something very very wrong here, and it's more than just bad coaching.

The ONLY time we have beat a team this season, or have stood a fighting chance against, is a team that our defensive line can get pressure on the QB all game long. Because that's an unknown variable--You can't gameplan against that. If we get to the QB, and he can't throw the intended pass to the intended target (because he knows where the hole is going to be, but he can't exploit it in time) then that's the only thing giving us a sporting chance.

Screw it. I'm all in with the tinfoil hat.

Because I can't see our defense being THAT incompetent for this long. Something else is giving teams an advantage. I don't know that ALL Texans opponents are getting this information, but does anybody here think Rex Ryan's morals would refuse some insider information? Not this guy. Ditto for Coughlin, and mega ditto for Del Rio.

I like most of your stuff, but I think you're off the reservation on this one.

There's nothing he could give them that any offensive coach can't see with their own two eyes.

Not to mention, it would kill any chance he has of ever suiting up for a pro team again.

Wherever Reeves is now he knows more about the atmosphere of the Texans than most fans. While it is great fun to shoot the messenger, why be in disbelief that he says the Texans have bad coaching?

The players actually know more about a) football and b) the lockerroom than most fans. They are less swayed by homer glasses too.

I have no problem with what he said. players seem to regress when they come into the system. hell even the remarks by Dungy and Harrison should tell you something if one doesn't believe in what Reeves is saying

Can anyone make a coherent argument against the idea that: "good coaching is underrated" (presumably he is talking about McNair's wariness to make changes)? No.

The truth is, the idea to go the route we did with the secondary was boneheaded and illogical and we are paying the price. I wish we could bring back Reeves, hell I would even take a look at bringing back Faggins from UFL...but something tells me that Kubiak is content to ride the sinking ship all the way to the end of his tenure. Either that or he knows that McNair has no intention of getting rid of him and therefore has room to be a hard headed imbecile.

Am I the only one who was hoping the title of this thread was leading into something like this:

"After Sunday's EPIC FAILURE against the Jets, former Texan CB Jacques Reeves confronted current Texan coaches and started shooting at them, literally. Unfortunately, Reeves was looking the wrong way and didn't hit anyone. But, on a positive note, Head Coach Gary Kubiak and DC Frank Bush shiite on themselves and ran into the Hudson River. More on News at 10....."

If i was WInston or Pollard i wouldnt even do there radio shows today how can they show there face

what they need to be doing is watching film reading football for dummie bokks working out doing something to help them get better

Good for Reeves. He is right. And, to be honest, it's entirely plausible that his tenure on the Texans ruined his chances to be a good player. He could have been really good for all we know, and our coaches turned him into ****.

Why does everyone think he was so bad. He was our best corner by far last year. I can't believe he was cut.

This.

And not that it says much but he was the man in the secondary. Yeah, he had pretty obvious flaws but obvious flaws are becoming the norm around here. At least he had the speed to stay with receivers. He was a true CB, not a safety playing CB.

How bad is it when Jack ****ing Reeves is telling you your secondary and coaching are crap?

OH YEAH. IT'S THIS BAD. I ALMOST FORGOT.

Maybe he's decided he's done, and so he's peddling it for the last cash grab?

Things just seem Twilight Zone to me. This isn't normal. There's no way this defense can go from what it did last year, to what has happened this year.

If the two CBs and our safeties are what's bringing us down, then Gary Kubiak and Frank Bush and the whole staff for both coaches should be summarily ran out of Houston on a rail. Tarred and feathered. THEN ran out on a rail. Because it's those four bone-heads that has ruined it for everyone.

Maybe the Texas Tech University administration and athletic department is the one behind all of this. They know how to ruin a good thing by cutting their noses off to spite their faces.

This is just the worst season ever. At least in the past we had the dream of things "coming together" sometime. Now? It's as if we've seen the best they can do and it ain't nearly enough to "turn that proverbial corner' we're always talking about.

You know what? I don't have a problem with what Reeves said here.

If any of y'all watched Dungy point out that it was IDIOTIC for our DBs to playing inside technique vs outside technique on that HUGE pass play at the end of the game, then you'll know that it's not just us railing against the coaching at this point. COMPETENT, superbowl-winning coaches are saying the same thing.

I laughed when I saw a comment on here earlier saying "I miss Reeves. At least he was in the television screen whenever a pass got thrown." Now I feel the sentiment behind that.

Jacques Reeves would instantly be our best corner if he was playing for us right now. And he's on the street. How screwed up is that?

There's never any gradual progression here where players come in, ride the pine for a short period of time at least, and then get eased into the game the way Kareem Jackson should have been. It's like when this team decides to "go young" they do it like we're still a 3 year old expansion team with no alternatives.

Why did Phillip Buchanon have to start the instant he got here? Why did Aaron Glenn get to say "I want my release" and get it, no questions asked when we didn't even know what we had in Buchanon?

And why are doing this same stupid crap again just 5 years later? Doesn't anybody that works here have a ***king memory? You'd think Bob McNair might at least recall what happened the last time somebody told him "This is a great deal, we're gonna get younger and faster and better".

I feel like sometimes showing this franchise how do it right needs to be dumbed down to an episode of "Blues Clues" to get it across.

I don't know why people are trying to bag on Jacques Reeves.....he did nothing wrong and is 100% correct.

His tweet wasn't a shot at the fans in this city or the team (his ex teammates)....it was a shot at his previous dumbass employers, employers who have their head shoved so far up their collective asses that they can't see the light of day.

How would you feel if your boss came to you and despite being one of the best at your position, they let you go because they want someone younger? Then the younger inexperienced was so horrible that he ended up getting your previous boss fired (which is what is going to happen here). You'd find if ****ing funny and instant karma too.

Go Jacques Reeves, tell them the truth and let it be know how stupid our "brain trust" is. We have possibly the dumbest franchise in the entire league.

We're dumb.

Dumb enough NOT to listen to Cowboys fans when they told us this homo was terrible.

Except he wasn't "horrible". What we have now is "horrible".....Reeves was actually a step up.

Again, everything Reeves said was 100% true...if that upsets some fans, well I guess the truth hurts.

Hey, you bitchmade guy, how the **** do you like being on the unemployment line? Just shut your trap, *********. You're just as worthless as these guys are.

 He's a multi-millionaire, I'm pretty sure "unemployment line" smack isn't going to effect him.

He posted his opinion on the internet and trashed the coaching staff.

We post our opinions on the internet and some of us trash the coaching staff every single day.

Difference.... He's a bitchmade, classless bum, LOL :).

I actually value his opinion more, because he knows more about the team/staff than any other poster here.

Was it just me or did Rex look almost shocked on the sidelines when the texans actually played D and came back? Everytime they showed him it looked like he was thinking "this isn't the team I was expecting".

Im with you on the giants, they shut our offense down like they knew what we were running and when we would run it. Im kinda lost on the jags and Del Rio though? We lost that game, they didn't win it.

The fact that he IS a professional and we're not is what makes him the bitchmade, classless bum and not us. And unemployment line as in "haha, your garbage ass doesn't even have a job with another team", not "haha, you can't afford to feed your kids"

You may value his opinion more, but it's like valuing Bob Beckel's opinion on politics, considering he managed Walter Mondale's ass-kicking in 1984.

Good for Reeves. He is right. And, to be honest, it's entirely plausible that his tenure on the Texans ruined his chances to be a good player. He could have been really good for all we know, and our coaches turned him into ****.

Have Frank Bush and Gibbs ruined GQ and Jackson? I mean the technique we have taught are 1st round draft pick is terrible, we have put them in spots where they have no shot at being successful. Really? how much can a player take before his confidence is shattered and loses his love for the game. If the texans fire anybody midseason please let it be Gibbs, PLEASE!

so what did he say that was wrong or different than half the thread on this messageboard?
