At the time of this post there are zero positive threads...zero... on this site for the great fans of the Houston Texans...zero. In fact, I am pretty sure there have been two positive threads this year. Shoot, even when we won there were threads ripping the team coaches and qb. Its like a funeral parlor around here and most of us are burying this team..I see the good people of this site throwing the dirt on this team as the lifeblood of this season is still flowing through its veins. I am tired of it and I will not stand by anymore to allow my team to be left for dead...im done with all this poor us crap that is going on round here...its time for the antidote..its time for some Koolaid.

So I get up from my computer, walk over to the pantry open up a packet of Cherry...errr Battle Red flavored koolaid add sugar and water and pour it into my Texans mug and swoosh I am taken away to my happy place. I am sitting in our seats at Reliant and I hear the ACDC song start and I rise to my feet as the flames erupt and the music gets louder and my blood begins to boil and then I hear the announcer begin to announce the players but instead he says "Texans fans it time to introduce the greatest fan and leader of the battlered revolution when I say his first name you shout his last name. From San Antonio #32 Spurs..." and the crowd shouts "TEXANSTROOOOOOS" and I am transported back here to wipe the Koolaid off my chin and prepare to wirte the greatest fan rant to ever grace these boards.

so here it goes.

Hello, My name is Michael and I am a Texans fan. I am , like most of you a hard working red blooded Texan who grew up rooting for the Oilers. I like most of you watched them choke year after year and I returned to watch them to once again have my heartbroken. And then one fateful day my heart was broken for a final time and i was left in the wasteland of fans without a team. Until one day I heard the news that football would be returning to Texas..not to my beloved San Antonio but to my second favorite city, Houston. Like, most of you I was unsure that this new team would be able to replace my first love...the Oilers. However, as that inaugural season
approached I quickly caught the Texans spirit and I was hooked and when Billy Miller caught that first TD I knew I was hooked and I was a Texans' fan.

For the first couple of years it was rough...a lot of run run pass and alot of loosing and I was alone. I still bought into this franchise and chose to support it win or lose. I began to purchase mass amounts of Texans gear and spent every Sunday hoping that a group of rejects and has beens led by a pretty boy could defy the odds and bring us football glory..why did I have that hope?
I was a Texans fan
Then in 2004 my wife went into labor three months early and the doctor told me they would need to have emergency surgery and so I rushed home I grabbed the first things I could in my closet with out looking and dashed out the door and when I got to the hospital realizede all I grabbed was a few Texans tshirts and my then new battle red Texans jersey. I completely forgot to get the wifes robe and she needed something large enough to wear over gown to keep her warm..so I gave her my new white jersey and she wore that and I wore a blue Texans t-shirt and that was what I had on when the next morning my sone came into the world and later that day I held him in the NICU and I was wearing that Texans t-shirt getting my first picture taken with him wearing Texans gear...why?

I was a Texans' fan.

And the first Sunday I had him home, he woke up from a nap, I went in to pick him up and brought him in to watch his first game and as soon as I sit down the Texans int the ball and take it 102 yards for a touchdown and we both screamed me out of joy and him because he was terrified that I was screaming. It was at this point i leardned the silent scream ( you parents of young kids know what im talking about) Why?

I was a Texans fan

As the years passed I found this board and found friends to watch the games with in San Antonio. Yet the team kept loosing and things got really bad for the Texans and they had the worst record in the league and franchise history and I supported my team. Why?

I was a Texan fan.

The team was down the state and nation laughed at us and at my team. The silver lining was that the Texans would be able to get that once in a lifetime player who could write the ticket to the promise land and the Texans would be assured of glory...The Texans select Mario Williams...who? The next day I was in Best Buy wearing my gear and a little kid wearing ut jert walked up to me and said 'You guys could have had Vince...you guys are a bunch of loosers." The nation and everyone here was laughing at us and at my team. But yet i continued to support my team...why?

I was a Texans fan.

The team had a new coach and they began to improve and I began to see flashes of what they could be....but along with those flashes the Texans had those moments that made us all hurt and rethink our fandom...the blown leads the heartbreaking defeats at the last second...the ROSENCOPTER..sigh but yet I kept returning for more...why?

I was a Texans fan.

Then things start to get good and we have our first .500 season and then another and then the Texans are winners at long last 9-7 and they almost made the playoffs..joy for all the fans the Texans time has arrived!!!!
My friend and I partner up and we get season tickets and as soon as we pay for them I loose my job.....sigh....I go to my wife and tell her and I say "well I guess im going to have to sell the tickets." she says

"No baby, your a Texans fan"

So despite me being out of work my family and the money could have been used elsewhere. I became a partial season ticket holder and began this season dreaming of the playoffs...and dare I ever say it aloud..the SuperBowl...why did I think this?

I was a Texans fan

So we start out the season 2-0 and being a Texans fan is good. the air is fresher and the sky bluer and you know life doesnt seem too bad. However that euphoria doesnt last long and the Texans are beaten by the hated rivals and brawls envelop Reliant and the storm clouds and naysayers seemed to gather and despite wins in oakland and a dramatic win against KC those clouds and naysayers never seem to go away. The Texans stumble and loose against their nemisis and then loose again when their best player falters...and once again the doubters and naysers once again start to pic and make fun and cry "the same ole Texans...there they go again" The clouds darken here on the board and now have become overwhelming and there is alot of disheartining things being said about my team..videos being examined, soap of all colors being given out, the team being left for dead..but yet I continue to support this team...its coaches its players and its owner why?

I am a Texans fan.

But what am I to do? Do I join the headhunting masses or do I abandon a team I have invested alot of time and money rooting for....hmmmmm what am I to do?

So, I walk to the forum of the Texans talk board and I raise my Texans hat high and say "BY THE POWER OF RELIANT" and a flash of red light and crash of ACDC become SPURSTEXANSTROS...I HAVE THE POW...ERRR

Nice post. I know I sport the soap, but that doesn't mean I'm not supportive of my team. But 5 years of the same crap under Kubiak, he's gonna have to show me something the rest of the season for me to take the soap down and I'm talking going to the playoffs!

Just because I don't approve of what Kubiak is doing and the way he is gameplanning does not mean I'm not a Texans fan. I see where you're coming from, but a lot of the soapers aren't going to stop being a fan of this team.

Well I hope you secured your PSL and season tickets for the 2011....or 2012 season depending on the ridiculous lockout situation. This team is garbage on defense and I salute you for trying to rally the troops around such a pitiful group. But it's about time we realize that Texans fans will just have to wait a little bit longer to finally see a post season game.

7-9 HERE WE COME!

My name is Travis, I live in New Jersey and I wholeheartedly support this message.
We can still do this, silly decisions by the coach can be overcome and he will learn.
'Dre only makes one mistake a year and its over now-I'm glad he got it out of his system.
KJ can only get better-he's a rookie and with support will succeed.

GO TEXANS!!

Ah, Football!
Interesting injuries for the Jags. Then again half of the Colts and Chargers teams were injured, but I'll keep that out of the positive thread. :)

In addition to DE Aaron Kampman, Jags DT Tyson Alualu also suffered a knee injury in practice this week.

According to the Florida Times-Union, Kampman's "might be a serious knee injury." The Jags are holding their breath, awaiting his MRI results. Alualu missed practice Thursday while sporting a new brace on his lower left leg. The Texans' offense is looking at a matchup upgrade this week.

Cool thanks for the new avatar. I'm not sporting the pink soap because I think it's ridiculous, but everyone has an opinion and I have mine. Here's to the Texans and the rest of this season. :fans::texan::gotexans1

Moron=Bud Adams

sorry for the confusion too much koolaid does that too you.

Awsome responses to this thread from soapers and others, it shows that we are one fanbase behind our team.

Im with ya I get pissed about this team, the coaching and mistakes by players and I vent as well but I wanted to post something other than the fire____ threads or______ is a wuss or our defense sucks thread. All may be true but some of us can only take so much of that stuff.

I say lets keep it going and show the team on here and at Reliant we believe in them and are behind them 100%

I'm really thinking that the Football God's don't want a winning team in Houston for some reason.
The way these last two games finished was just too much.
