Why Texans need to win for the sake of Austin viewers.

I was getting worried about the same thing. Either that or the Titans again as they are looking better.

Either way I'm just effing fed up with the constant worrying of this subject when I'M EFFING IN TEXAS............NOT EVEN THAT FAR FROM HOUSTON.

This and this reason alone....this whole Texans get dissed by KEYE CBS Austin to continually sniff UT jock is why I usually laugh and take pleasure in UT losses.

Seriously. I have nothing against UT. I didn't go to A&M, TT or anything like that. I moved here and was kind of excited to see some college football. The people here and their VY mania those couple years where Texans fans couldn't get games on TV IN EFFING TEXAS NOT THAT FAR FROM HOUSTON has made me take pleasure in UT losses.

UT fans, again, not putting all UT fans in this group, I know not everyone who is a UT alumn was happy about that, but DAMN that pisses me off to an extreme that only my ex wife can bring out!

but the got mccoy brown's jerseys...I guess the good news is, we'll never have to worry about them switching games for Garrett Gilbert when he's in the NFL....:headhurts:

You guys can blame KEYE and UT fans all you want however the blame lies on the Texans. If they were a relevant franchise this would not even be an issue.

The Texans continue to blow opportunites to gain a ton of support in this state. Cowboys fans are jumping off in droves. A good friend of mine who was a Cowboys fan told me that he is sick of Jerry Jones and wanted to start following the Texans however he felt they are just as clueless. This would have been a perfect season to start making ground in this state.

So a lot of these Longhorns fans can't bring themselves to root for either NFL Texas team so they prefer to just root for the teams that have their favorite former UT players playing for them.

Whatever. If the Texans are turning off us diehards who have been here since the team was first announced how in the world do you think they can capture the interest of the casual NFL fan here in Texas?

I can barely even watch these guys now. I cannot STAND watching poor defense. It just eats at me watching teams just going up and down the field converting every 3rd down. It's not even worth the frustration.

Fortunately for me I have another team I have always rooted for and it happens the same EVERY season. The season always starts with the majority of my attention being on the Texans, then somewhere around the 5th week I start looking at games from a Giants fan perspective. It never fails.

While I see your point, we are still close enough to Houston that, just IMO mind you, Texans should be on every week without question unless it is the 2-14 season again.

To me, the solution is, they get to go sports bars. If they are mostly college oriented, then they got to stay at home and drink for free on saturday. Sunday is big boy ball. If you don't have an NFL team and just want to watch individuals, go to a sports bar to watch random teams. At home viewing should be for those who have a vested interest in one of Texas' 2 teams. Again, just IMHO.

I've always had a soft spot for the Seahawks from when Moon went there and that they were always bad (I root for underdogs and unknowns a lot...surprise..I'm a Texans fan lol). But they blow too so I'm SOL. Hopefully my family who are all from PITT don't try to convert me to the darkside....

They'll never develop a fanbase for the Texans if they're always fickle about the team's record. Just keep them on TV, and fans will stay loyal.

I watch the Sunday ticket on 15 screens at Common Interest anyway.

Strange that when VY played at the Cowboys, there was no chorus of nuthuggers swamping the stadium in No. 10 jersies.:mariopalm:
 
If they yank the games, I'll be at Pluckers RR every Sunday. No matter how bad we stink it up, I won't miss a game regardless of how painful.

What can I say? I am a glutton for punishment, I am Houston Texans fan.

Yes, I'll still go out to watch the games, glutton here too. But my beef is that I shouldn't have to being 250 miles from the largest city in the state.

Actually I heard there were. However it makes more sense there is more of that in Houston since VY is from Houston not Dallas.

There were! I have Family in Dallas and they couldn't believe the number of VY fan Bois... I let them know that it worse here, though.
 
Austin, as a city, will never be loyal to any pro team. Its divided between people who are actually loyal to a pro town and people who are just bandwagon talking heads (the majority of Austin) that hop from one team to the next based on success.

Wow that's terrible. I guess since Cowboy's stadium is spread out, it looked better on TV. Went to the MNF game here last year, and the fanboyism was horrific to behold in person.

Actually it's even closer about 180 miles away, which makes it worse. But I agree, I have been screaming this for years.

Agreed.

I think we met a couple times when we used to all get together at 3rd Base on 6th and MoPac back when we used to get really big crowds out there at the height of all this. You may remember me by my old screen name I had on here (which I lost the log in to hence I started this one) which I believe was H TOWN BALLA #90.
