Please Cut Cory Bradfords

He sucks and hasn't done anything to secure #2 position in preseason. Runs crappy routes (not good in new offense), and only makes the occassional catch. Jerome could take his role. CB will be cut.

This offense will SUCK

normally i dont like saying "cut this guy" but here i have to agree. jerome could fill the number 2 spot much better.

With the way Gaffney played last night he could go to #2, Armstrong to #3, Mathis #4, and Thomas #5.

Our only hope right now. The one thing I say to myself all day is that Carr has not played with Gaffney in the game and yesterday he was without both him and Davis. That is all I keep saying.

Actually, I think Morency has done better than Davis in Preseason, not that Morency's ready for #1 or anything. Maybe it's just because I haven't seen Davis as much, but I don't think having Davis in there would have helped Carr and the receivers--then again, there's the dump-offs as apposed to interceptions.

As far as Bradford goes, I don't want to see him as #2. I would like to see Gaffney as #2 (I think) and I definitely want to keep Mathis (future #2), Thomas (#2 right now?), and Swinton. I guess that leaves Armstrong and Bradford.

AJ
Gaffney
Thomas
Mathis
Swinton
Armstrong or Bradford?

Oh the Gaff love comes out. What a shock. This is the same board that trashes Gaff constantly. This is what Gaff has always been able to do, but he never see 5 balls in a game. Those go to Davis. Give Gaff the ball.

I don't see him going all the way from #2 to being waived, but I do agree that he should be the one to go. I was disappointed when they resigned him because I think he has some of the worst hands in the NFL.

I like Armstrong and Thomas way better than him.

Armstrong showed me he deserves a spot with that end-zone catch. swinton has only shown promise in the return game but we already have other people that can do it just as well. i say bradford and swinton go, keep every one else. :ok:

I, myself, don't remember ever trashing any of the receivers and I'm not even sure about Gaffney being that high up, but I'd go with it for now, even though Sloan Thomas really impressed me yesterday.

If you say Gaffney's that good, then I'm a little more sure about it now.

that CB should be cut is that he is not going to be good in this particular offense. He and Carr are not yet comfortable with each other as evidenced by the INT's in the preseason, and the various miscommunications between CB and DC.

the only thing ive ever bashed jabar gaffney for (and check my post history) is being a gator. i think that alone is worth being cut for, but thats just seminole pride talking

It looked to me like Carr was a little too comfortable with the CornerBacks. They catch everything he throws at them.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Bradford get cut. Really I think we resigned him because we didn't know what kind of depth we have. Now that we saw Mathis make some good plays and Sloan makes some good plays, Bradford may be dispensable cuz really letting go of Bradford is like letting go a guy with Sloan Thomas' skills that will never get better. Sloan is going to get better.

I beleive the WR List goes a little something like this - AJ,Gaffney,Thomas,Mathis,Swinton,Armstrong,Bradwhore

So its unanimous - CUT BRADFORD

It looks like we're all in agreement about something for a change.

No more Bradford at #2.

Hey I think I AGREE that CB has not lived up to his potential. However, a receiver can only catch the ball if the QB get's it to him. SO for all those who say it's pre season... I say, " blah blah blah blah blah, blahblah blahblah!"
2 total drives in preason that looked half way decent but netted how many points? CARR looks worse than he did as a rookie and I can not take it. Balls floating, over thrown, thrown with to much juice on them, not looking off defenders or picking up the blitz, etc...in general BAD FUNDEMENTALS

Someone said this in another post, but I can't remember who or where. In 2003, we lost in Tampa Bay 34-3 in the last preseason game (even worse than this time). Then we went to Miami and beat them in Miami to open the season. Maybe it's not as bad as it looks. Maybe all we need to do is CUT COREY BRADFORD, lol.

Looking at the team records, Bradford had 10 touchdowns in the opening season, but it looks like he's done squat since then. I guess that first year is why he's been #2 this long.

I still think we would have been good with at least AJ, Sloan, Mathis and Starling, and that's before he got cut. Starling looked ok last year with the time he had. I thought Bradford would be gone with Aaron Glenn when we came back into the start of this season but I guess not. I just hope that with whatever happens we have at least 5WR and 5CB's. I would hate to have the SS/FS backup stuff going on with our depth chart this year. After that I really don't care. Cut antother HB, TE, whatever; just leave me with the 5&5.

I agree that the Texans should cut CB. Bradford doesn't bring anything to the table that you cant get from someone else. Mathis is faster, Armstrong has better hands, and Gaffney gets open more. So really what are we losing by cutting Bradford??

I would feel just as comfortable with Gaffney, Armstrong, even Thomas as the #2WR as I would with Bradford.

Bradford's problem is between his ears. All this talk by the coaches and players about how he was having his best camp, and would finally display the potential that his physical attributes suggest, and what do we get from him? If his play was food, I wouldn't feed it to a stray dog. Just another brain dead guy who can run. Sloan Thomas has shown me, at least, that he has a ton of potential. Why let another team get him and keep Bradford? I say dump Bradford while the getting is good, and continue to develop Mathis and Thomas.

What this does highlight is YET ANOTHER FAILURE by the FO to work on our weasknesses this offseason. No legit #2 was pursued or signed. Heck the Panthers got Rod Gardner for a song. Why didn't we make an offer? How about Price? Oh no. Can't have him, gotta save the cap space. For who, Stay Puff the Marshmellow man? Who exactly are we saving this cap space for? This team reminds me of a fellow playing a shell game. Always hiding the ball under the next shell. The minute we start to build something, they let guys go, always chasing cap space. Hell, it's gotten to the point, where I am about ready to sign this great player Cap Space to a Max contract and let him play QB, because Carr looks about as good as your average HS Freshman.

The more I think about it, the more i'm in favor of cutting Bradford. If we keep Bradford this year, I think we lose a guy like Sloan Thomas, who has more upside than Bradford has. It's time to go Bradford, there's a reason nobody offered a trade for him in the offseason, because he sucks as a #2 WR.

I agree, ... I am still pissed about Kasper getting cut, he may not be a high profile wr, but he had great hands and a huge heart for the game,.. two things this offense needs. :patriot

I've seen enough of Bradford. Cut him. I'm happy with Andre, Gaff, Armstrong, Mathis, and Sloan Thomas.

I'll second that. Those are my 5 guys.

Corey Bradford would have been one of my first cut , I did not see nothing from him in preseason did I miss something someone please tell me, I might need to go back and watch the games over, for him to be across from Andre on the 1st string, not good Capers and Charlie, I do rember swinton with the 102 yard return and Jabar Gaffney's first outing enough for him to be over Bradford anyday, what happen to getting younger Charlie and Capers? Someone please tell me where is all the money going to on the Texans Roster please break it down.

You know...this post saddens me. I couldn't care less about CB's future with this club...but when the Texan fan's initial post has an obvious typo that a friggin Colts fan feasts upon...and noone on this board comes to the guy's defense...it's disgusting. All of you yahoos knew what the guy meant. So very sad.

Seems to me like they value experience more that production. We might end up with a team full of experienced losers. How do you not reward a guy like Sloan Thomas? Do you have to be a stud like AJ for them to realize you're better than Bradford? How in the world can Bradford be considered better than Gaffney right now?

Ragone had a good game Saturday--I'm surprised they didn't cut him for doing that.

I agree completely with both of you .

Kinda Odd that on the other side of the ball they got rid of two older more expensive errr experienced players and replaced them with younger cheaper errr faster players and they wont do the same for the offense .

On the financial side Bradford is relatively cheap .... I believe his contract is right at $1 Million this season and only for one year .

Yeah, I was thinking about that when I posted, but I'm just really irritated. They kept Bradford, AT #2 I'M SURE, AND Hollings....both of them. Apparently, they simultaneously let Sloan AND Swinton go. When they finally listen to the fans, they'll cut Carr. :hairpull:

Sorry, I guess I just don't want to make sense right now.

I don't understand why Capers and everyone else can't see what we as fans can clearly see. CB is no good and its evident that Thomas deserves to be a part of the depth at the WR position. POLIITICS!!! In this year's draft it was obvious to all that we were adding youth to our team or at lest that was what seemed to be the direction in which the organization was headed so why not cut CB who is older and less explosive than that of Thomas? Them cutting Thomas in my opinion is one of the worst decsions they have made and surely will regret in the future!

Its kinda funny , last season i was defending Bradford when he started slow as of now i think he's worthless . Another track guy trying to play WR ....He is straight line fast but he runs poor routes , cant catch and just doesnt get seperation despite his speed . And did i mention he cant catch ?

This isnt Madden and speed isnt everything . Give that guy some Stickem.

:hairpull:

Ding, ding , ding, we have a winner. Capers is Sooooo conservative that he is tied up and wont put any stock in less experienced players because he KNOWS is job is on the line this year. Funny thing is, his failure to step out and use younger players might wind up bitting him in the butt. The moves I see them making, make little sense unless you look at them through the prizim of self preservation.

And how many rookies are starting this year ?

TJ will probably see some action at DT in obvious passing situations. If Capers is willing to let Brown start against Buffalo I doubt Earl will get his starting job back unless Brown performs really bad. Morrency will likely give DD a breather every now and then, and we'll probably see Mathis from time to time in the 3 and 4 WR sets.

point being, there a few rookies that gets to start. IMO proof that Capers is NOT afraid to get young players on the team.

is there really any issue as to wether capers is willing to start rookies? damn, all you have to do is look back over the last 3 seasons to know hes started many many rookies...

3 last year alone.

If anything over the last few years, even for an expansion team there can be more a case that can be made that the Texans have handed jobs out to inexperienced players like candy at Halloween.

It is amazing that people who have watched every game and followed the team closely all of a sudden forget all of that when they disagree with a couple of roster decisions.
