Feeling Optimistic - We will beat the Bills

Hear me out here...I've watched the Texans since day one and I'm still debating whether Carr will take us to the next level (knowing we passed on Brady kinda hurts even though he came out of no where) and I'm hoping all of this 8-8 talk will come true, but this poor showing in preseason will motivate Capers and co. to really step it up. I'd rather have a mad coach who is embarrased of his team, really fire it up. Get the team fully prepared for Buffalo...the real first game that counts. If we coasted through preseason, we may have not given our entire hearts into the buff game. But now that we went 1-3, god knows the heat is on. I think we show up sharp in Buffalo and wipe JP Losman all over the field. Our D needs to start representing, though. Stand behind your team, chalk it up to learning about the backups, and lets go win the AFC South.

You must be out of your freakin mind!
Capers should have done that after last weekend. I must say that I wish I had your optimism.

LOL @ these weak ***,fairweather fans being optimistic.

I'll stay optimistic, some others will...but 70% of this board is going crazy like its week 9 and we're 1-7.

I suspect that, if we were 1-7 in week 9, this board would be empty and morbid, not crazy.

Brady was drafted by the Pats in Y2K. The Texans first draft was in 2002.

I hope that eases your pain.

I thought I lost my mind on this one. What the heck was that guy talking about?

Brady - 2000
Carr - 2002

The posters are losing it.

I see and feel that there is alot more concern for the way we looked in pre-season, than going crazy.

Some of us FANS won't leave even if the Texans go 0-16. I'm a Texans fan no matter what the outcome of the games are. I've given the Texans a free pass for 3 years. That free pass is over when the coin is flipped in Buffalo. I choose not to be overly critical during the Preseason because it just doesn't matter.

If the Texans have a losing season, I will still have my season tickets in 119C and yell just as loud if not louder for them the nest year.

I bought my first Spurs season tickets pre-David Robinson. $600 per seat per year, 2nd row! They went 21-61 my first year. It was still a blast, and a heck of an entertainment value. Shortly thereafter they got Robinson and Eliot. Then prices went way up, and the fans around me weren't as knowledgable anymore.

Since then I've moved to Houston but still follow "my" Spurs. And I can honestly call them my team because I'm anything but a front runner. Victory has been very sweet.

Enjoy the Texans now. Enjoy the games. Enjoy the players. Criticize, but critcize fairly. If they ever win the big one, it'll all be worth it.

What hurt more than that is that we passed on Manning Too. :goodnight
Wake me up when the draft come so we can draft Montana, I heard the guy is going to make a name for himself in the NFL.

good grief we have been waiting all year for next season now next season is here we should all be happy, excited and positive :texflag:

do the Texans have a chance against the Buffalo Bills  ABSOLUTELY

its going to be a very competitive game, c'mon Texans :texans:

Of all the bs I've heard...what really kills me is the fact that everyone was anticipating the season for the last 4 months, being all optimistic...now everyone is afraid of the season starting and are yelling 0-16 (you get my point)....

Remember people, we were WORSE than this in the 2003 preseason...0-4 and looking terrible...and what happened in Miami? Exactly.

First off-if you read the first post he's saying that the team WILL be prepared to play against the Bills. Second-the rest of the post is more about how we will support the team and still be soaking up the Texans' bandwidth even if they have a poor season.

Looking past you? OK-use this for fodder: The Texans' first test in 2005 will be against the Steelers. They are the only team in the AFC that has a chance, albeit small, of handing them a defeat this season. The Texans should cruise to a 16-0 season record in 2005. There's no doubt that the Texans will be the NFL champs this season.

Whoo hooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :trophy: :fans: :texflag: :homer:

I talk about no excuses and I give none when we look bad like we have lately. However nothing will keep me looking for our first and next wins to come. I started from day one and I stay till the end.

Excellent post. It seems that this gets lost in all the back and forth on this board. Despite our opinions on how this team is run or the moves it makes etc. deep down we're all Texans fans and we'll be here rain or shine.

Hell if Carr plays like he did against the Bucs and Cowpies we should just let our Defense sit out the game and consider this another preseason game.

I agree with that to an extent on Carr. However, your proposed game plan for the Bills-Texans games sounds a lot like the Levy plan for four straight Super Bowls in the 90's. :)

DC Jerry Gray would not allow that to happen. In fact I would not mind seeing him in Houston next year with an HC next to his name. :texflag:

Ill take going to four SB's over finishing last place in a weak division anyday.

So we agree. I love Super Bowls as well, how many have the Bills and Texans been to in the last three years? Zero. How many times have the Bills and Texnas been the doormat in their division the last three years - twice each in 2002 and 2003.

Our team's results are very similar, except our excuse is that we are still a new organization and the Bills do not have one.

gr8slayer Since you are so confident that the Bills will win this game why dont you just look past us Texans and our MB and go hang out on the Tampa Bay MB since you will be playing them the following week :texflag: Maybe annoy them for a while ..... or you could go play in the freeway during rush hour

the Bills game will be close. Our defense has looked promising, well at running into each other at least. And we have yet to see a complete half of DD.

Only if Bledsoe was in the middle of that Walker and Peek sandwich in Dallas, could you imagine........

Man, what a freaking nightmare/joke the board was at that time. Actually had some better football discussions at times though.

I just got a private message from somebody (I won't name the person) who told me that I'm on his ignore list, etc., etc. Basically it was your typical "I Am A Real Fan, You're Not a Real Fan" stuff. I need a hug.... :crying:

I am not as happy about opening weekend as I was last year. Having said that, last year turned out to be a disaster on opening weekend as we lost to San Diego. So, maybe my mixed feelings as we head into Buffalo will help me temper my reaction to what I think we're going to see next Sunday.

Trust me, I want us to win...and win NOW. But the way we've looked in the preseason is not giving a happy, warm feeling inside.

Again: Here's to the ever-popular "light switch" our team can flick on. Maybe we can turn it on and get some wins before the bye week. Hopefully a little confidence can be built in those first three games.

It's too bad that people have to be shouted down for speaking their mind. I see some posts that I think are loopy, and I just keep walking down the sidewalk. The thread usually dies in those cases (if people let it).

We're all fans, regardless of our level of happiness with the team :texflag:
