Thanks for your support!

Kris Brown just screwed up the Chargers' comeback.

i didnt even know he was with the chargers man thoes chargers love them some X texans

The Chargers defense forced the Pats to go 4-and-out!

That's a good defense, and a good offense. They just waited to the
4th quarter to start ballin'!

Get ready to see if they need Brown to make a big kick!

This is an interesting game!

o boy i kinda ....well no man umm this is the first time we seen a texans X kicker Miss for another team ... well sucks for brown

The last two minutes of that game are ALL on Kris Brown.
The Chargers got a quick touchdown, onside kick, another
touchdown, then.....

Kris Brown kicks the ball out-of-bounds on the ensuing kickoff, to give
the Patriots the ball on the 40-yardline. We all witnessed the rest.

Same ****, different team.

unbelievable....:tv: san diego special teams has absolutely killed them this year. responsible for at least 3 losses this year.

Haha, just saw that too, I was saying to myself "I feel bad for the San Diego fans and what they're about to witness." and sure enough he effed it up.

tbqh that kick would've been blocked all the way to Boston if Kris was on target; there was a Patriot on the edge who had a very clean shot had Kris aimed a little bit more to the left.

that being said

pretty glad we went with Rackers

I thought it got tipped at first but after replay it was close but no cigar .. that kick was dead in the water from the get go

yeah, that false start didn't help him at all.

Can't really know for sure, but even without the false start that kick doesn't make it. He hit it straight the whole way, distance wasn't the issue, it was the accuracy just like last year. That kick had the distance to be good from another 10 yards back, but he didn't hook it to the left enough.

yup, without adding a wicked curve there was no way that one was going in. even a fraction to the left would've been blocked.

Before that drive, he shanked a kickoff out of bounds that gave the Patriots the ball at the 45. That was a BIG MISTAKE, luckily his defense made up for it.

Then right before the field goal, one of the SD lineman was called for a false start. So it made it a 50 yard field goal instead of a 45 yard one. Still I knew what was about to come...

I felt bad for the guy. Field goal off the upright... Didn't feel bad for the Texans, but I did feel a little bad for Kris Brown.

didn't most of you see this coming before the ball was even snapped?? Game tie-ing FG to go into OT?? come on. I knew the outcome of that one way before the snap.

the really sad part is that he was actually in a competition for the Kicker spot on the Texans roster. Really? The Texans actually had a competition for his position after last years poor kicking?? I don't know any other team in the league that would have kept him after last season's results. But the Texans have a loyalty issue that continues to perplex me. Say what you want about the Patriots and their 'its just business' attitude, but they got it figured out correctly in the NFL.

Hang in there, Kris!!! We love you!!

I agree with the 'hang in there' sentiment. Kind of surprising to see all the streamers and champagne over the miss.

I'm not worried about it, mind you, just an observation. The guy gave the Texans all he had. I can't ask more more than that.

You hate to see this for one of the NFL's good guys, but I'm just happy he isn't our kicker anymore.

Some on this board seem to take great glee in the misfortune of others. Even when they have given their all to this franchise. Pretty sad really.

I think it's more of a "I told you so" to all those that wanted Kris Brown on the the Texans still.

During all last year, and most of preseason, there were quite a few
people exalting Kris Brown as if he were Jesus H. Christ. I made
this thread knowing I wasn't the only one with a "woohoo" feeling on the
inside, starting when Kris shanked that kickoff.

That took all of the Chargers' momentum right away.

I wonder if Kubiak was watching? Did he turn away from the TV with him and KB being such good pals and all. lol... My brother bet me 5 bucks he would make it, KB being a former Houston pro athlete and all.

Seriously, I kind of felt bad for the guy, but I will not miss him. He's a great guy, and I respect that, but it was time to move on.

Had Brown not executed the onside kick, there would have been no Charger comeback. If you're going to bash Brown for missing the 50 yarder, at least give him props for what he did right.

I felt like the kick would have been blocked had it been more in line. I don't know if Kris saw that and tried to avoid it or that was just how it worked out, but overall I can't really fully blame the guy. Not only was he getting massive pressure from his left side, but his offensive line didn't make things any easier when they got the false start penalty to make it a 50 yarder.

edit: I originally wrote I felt like the block would have been kicked. :/

Kris Brown: Great guy. No doubt.

But, when he lined up to kick for us, I used to get a knot in my stomach.

When Neil Rackers lines up for us, I don't.

That's all I'm going to say about that.

Yea I watched the end of that game and couldn't help feeling for Brown,
but as a Texan fan gotta say it does tend to validate Kubiaks decision to replace Brown.

Props for what he did right?! An onside kick is literally a crapshoot, a bounce here, off the helmet there, a player maybe is fast enough to zone in on it...he hadn't a "good" onside kick in over 3 years, but he sure hooked/sliced and CLANG'd it too many times to count. I'm with Team Rackers!
