Peerless Price

Anyone thinking we might pick up another wide out. Honestly i'd like to see us pick up Peerless Price and dump Bradford. Bradford only has a 1 year deal so there will be no cap hit. Price showed in Buffalo that he can be a very good number 2 reciever. It was in atlanta with the unorthodox Vick and when he was asked to be the teams number 1 option where he had issues.

IF he could come in on a resonable contract for a jettisoned player he could really help us out and allow Mathis to spend a year as the number 4 wideout before being thrown into the fray. But i think the eagles will jump on him.

I believe were good on the wideout spot but then again dropping bradford and scooping price sounds like a good idea to me.

He was great for a couple years in Buffalo. Mike Vick is not a pocket passer, and I think that hurt Price as a slot guy. But with AJ (playing the role of a better Moulds) I think Price could do some good here. He has to better than Bradford. Considering the success he has had with Bledsoe I bet Dallas signs him.

I agree we need to take price. However I disagree with "bradford hasnt done anything". Hes been a good secondary receiver to get too just he hasnt performed like AJ. I think letting go of bradford could be a smart idea however I beleive if we do that we need to use that cap room to either A. Get price or B. pick up another addition for our offensive line or even corey simon for our defense since he is now free...I guess we will see what happens.

I dont remember the exact figure, but releasing Bradford isnt going to give you almost no extra cap room.

Price is one of those WRs who is fit to be a number 2. He had to be the number 1 in Atlanta and it didnt work. When he was behind Moulds, he went crazy. I doubt we pick him up for a couple of reasons. Other teams can offer more money and he probably would like to go to a contender. I wouldnt mind him, but I'm not worrying over not getting him.

I've said this plenty of times...

Price as a #2 WR = sick...ask Eric Moulds how much he (Price) helped him

94 rec, over 1200 yds in 2002...put him w/ AJ = success

Good input. Now that I think about it Bradford is only signed to a 1 year 1$ million dollar contract therefore it wouldnt open any cap room. As for Price I dont beleive we will get him either. I see him going to Dallas.

Yep Dallas loves taking guys past their prime hoping they will revert to their old form. Testaverde, Bledsoe, Glenn, K. Johnson, etc.

Peerless is only 28, he just needs a good reciever across from him, which Dallas doesnt really have. I think Philly would be a good fit for him.

Are you just crazy or just don't know football??? Price is ONLY 29 years old and we need a #2 receiver. The only reason why he hasn't put the same numbers up as he did in Buffalo is because Vick is a run 1st QB.

I think it would be stupid not to go out and try to get this guy. He would take some pressure away from Andre and open up the middle of the field for the running game.

Price would be a HUGE upgrade and is only looking for $2 million a year according to Len Pasquarelli of ESPN.com. So if you ask me, Bradford for a million and his 8 year career and his numbers of 167 total catches, 2746 total yards and 20 total TD or Price and his $2 million and his 7 years and 341 total catches, 4715 total yards and 28 TD. I'm taking Price and I hope the Texans do too!!!!!!!!

It sounds as if people would rather have the guys we got now instead of someone who possesses better skills and experience than who we have now except for Johnson of course.

His last words as he left the parking lot at the the Falcons practice facilities was: " I hate you all"

Do you really want a guy like that to be on your team?

us football fans aren't going to just accept on someones word something like that from on whos been mostly quiet in his carreer. we need resources! even if he said that, i wouldn't blame him. how much would you hate being a WR to aimless vick all this time?

OK i am now on the Bandwagon for wanting to get this guy on the Texans.

I have read on the Falcons MB that he said "I hate y'all", but he said it to all the media that was swarming him a few minutes after he had been fired.

Most of the Falcons fans are calling him a hard worker and a good team player, a true #2 reciever in need of a passing QB not a running QB and far from Classless.

i was hoping we would get him instead of Atl. when Buf. released him a few years ago. I thought, 2 good years under his belt, not yet all pro, great team player @ a great price.

If it only costs a million more, then why not take a shot on the guy? And if Parcells wants him because he used to play with Bledsoe, and won't get him, then we can rub it in if he does well :thumbup

you know to me price and warrick are the same thing...undersized and with warrick constantly hurt...price did have one good year with buffalo...the only problem i have is bringing him in would almost definetly cause the release of sloan thomas and i for one think if he is given the chance he could turn some heads this season...i want him doing that as a texan not as a member of another team

I honestly think this would be a great move. With Gafney questionable for opening day wouldnt it be great to have Aj on one side, peerless on the other and Mathis in the slot.

that lineup is scary!

Price is going to have options and I doubt that he would choose Houston when he could potentially be a #1 guy somewhere else.

I wonder if Tennessee is kicking themselves for signing Troy Edwards so quickly.

My money is on San Diego. Or Baltimore.

The guy is a #2 reciever. He will be no one's #1 guy.

I am not saying we should sign Price but I can understand why he did not do well in Atlanta with Vick at QB.

You're missing the point. He THINKS that he can be a #1 and that will probably influence his decision.
I don't know. I think that he might have learned from his experience in Atlanta. I think that he might go to a team with a great #1 so that he could prove he can still be productive.
I don't think that we should hold on to guys that "could" be productive when there are guys who "are" productive available.

It does sound nice to have him across from AJ. But not going to happen. Someone else said that he would probably go to the Eagles, I agree. Eagles just freed up some money by removing the tag off of DE Corey Simon. It would be a good fit for him, being a #2 with Owens on the other side. Also Eagles run the “west Coast” offence, like Atlanta. Also do you think Price would LOVE to meet the Falcons in the NFC title game.

Not really, UNLESS he clears waivers. If someone claims him off of waivers then in all likelyhood he goes to that team. I doubt the Texans will even get a shot at him. I would bet that someone will claim him before the Texans get the chance.

Well if you're thinking about Troy Edwards, too bad because my Titans already signed him! Although I gotta say I rather have had a shot at Peter Warrick or maybe Peerless Price.

I agree with jacquescas. Price is not a bad wideout, but Vick is maybe one of the most overrated players in the game. Price didnt have in Atlanta the numbers that had in Buffalo, but Vick doesnt know how to pass...!

The odds are between slim and none on someone picking him off waivers because that means picking up his current contract. True all the signing bonus goes on Atlanta's cap, but it still has large back end salaries.

Is Greg Favors a MLB or Outside LB? I think that would be a real good pick up. I wonder how come he didn't make it in Jville though.

I would be 100% for this if he was coming in at the start of TC. Now with the season opener a little over 1 week away im only at 70% due to the fact that he would be learning our offense from scratch. I think Atlanta is a wasting pool for WR due to the supiror Running back in the league. To bad hes their QB.

Where are our "resident football experts" from the message board? I haven't heard any of their opinions on this matter.

Of course I'm sure they'd say, "You guys are just looking for a big name. You all don't seem to know much about the fundamentals of the game."

According to JOHN CLAYTON of espn.com

• Price check: Approximately 15 teams checked in on the availability of former Falcons wide receiver Peerless Price. He's mapped out a preliminary plan. He will visit the Miami Dolphins Thursday and then see the Dallas Cowboys Friday. He has some West Coast visits for over the weekend and next week and he would like to see the Eagles. Price would like to get something done by over the weekend or early next week.

All I can say is look at the 1st two teams that Price is going to visit, one with no QB and the other team was 6-10 last year. It just might mean HE THINKS he is still a #1 receiver when he should be looking for a team where he is a #2.

Price is a spectacular number 2 guy. Some recievers can't cut it being number 1. He would help Dre a whooooooooole bunch.

I heard him say that too. Which begs the question if we got rid of Sharper, Glenn, Foreman, et al, then where is the supposed cap savings? I think he is full of that stuff running around New Orleans myself. :ok:
