The Return of Open Daniels

The silver lining of his absence is that Dreessen has used his starting role to earn the defense's respect, which is allowing OD more single coverage in some instances.

Owen "Open" Daniels returned to the Texans' offense with a vengance yesterday and he makes the Texans offense even better than it was last year. He made play after play yesterday. His presence in the middle opened up the sidelines for Andre and his clutch catches (and runs after the catch) really got things going for the O.

He had about three clutch plays on in the 4th quarter. The first was the 4th and 1 conversion that kept the drive going , he was wide open once again. The next and probably most important catch was the 3rd and 10 slant on the last drive, he used his quickness to beat the coverage and put the texans in position to win or tie. The last and final play was caught by Andre but what you dont see is Owen is open again and the safty has to come up and cover him and Andre goes to that vacated spot, catches the ball game over.

This win couldnt have happened without Owen "Open" Daniels...he makes this team that much better.

Yeah, this is especially true. And now Dreessen has a lot of confidence. Now defenses have to account for both.

I've since rewatched the game twice. Owen doesn't pop back up after getting tackled anymore. I'm certainly not saying he sucks or anything. He was so awesome awesome awesome yesterday. My own knees ached seeing him get up after that pass with 6:12 remaining in the 4th. He's not acting injured or anything like that. Just noticing the absence of a "spring" in his step.

I believe Owen's clock has begun its countdown.

you know he worked his butt off to regain his old form might be noteworthy that it takes one full year to recover. just wondering if the time table will be similar for DeMeco?

Here is the other silver lining. If we can get 90% of the Owen Daniels that played last year before he got hurt, that will be something that Indy isn't prepared for.
