If this is all the examination they do it seems like you could get some card stock, a Xerox Color Copier, borrow a friends tickets for 20 minutes, and its "back to business as usual." It won't get you in the game, but will get you in the lot.

So was the lines long getting into the stadium like many of you were predicting?

How strict were the Texans staff?

The ONLY issues I heard:

1. Pedestrian traffic has been changed even more than last week - some people were diverted really far aware from their tailgate to get into the lot.

2. Pedestrian traffic is not allowed until 8:30 - we were not aware of this ahead of time. We have a lot of folks with game tickets who park off site and walk to our tailgate.

It all worked fine by me. The Yellow Lot was a graveyard during the game according to Frank...our cook and keeper of the space.

The Yellow Lot was a graveyard during the game according to Frank
which I also noticed, as I retrieved my cooler, left at a friends tailgate area, while leaving during the game. And there was no around to even think about asking if that was actually MY cooler. I just hope some 'grave robbers' don't figure this out and make away with pretty much anything and everything they want, since no one is around to prevent/stop it from happening.

Seriously, theft is going to be a very bad result of the Texans new tailgating policy. There is alot of very expensive equipment left out and I think it is going to start disappearing in the graveyard parking lots very soon.

They didn't check for tickets or anything. Total lip service. If you have a parking pass, you could have entered the lots even without a game ticket...

They checked all walk up traffic for tickets.

The new policy states you must have a game ticket. If you have a parking pass, they were not checking for game tickets. They were only enforcing part of the new policy and that was my point.

The people that stay outside at our tailgate got checked for tailgating passes during the game...... and they have a parking pass.

It is funny we had a problem with border crossing and the Texans fixed it in a week. Bob McNair for President

I really don't know except for the here say but lets just say the taxi should have dropped Bill off a little further north on Kirby

I was only ever so slightly inconvienced. I had to show my tickets to walk out of yellow lot where i park which I thought was retarded. Eh. I can live with it. Lots of retarded stuff going on in life anyway and nothing to do but roll with it.

What I did notice was a significant signifcant reduction in the tailgating crowd. It kinda felt real quiet.

Based on a pure guess...I think the crowd was down about 50% overall in the Yellow Lot. I was fine with it. The crowd that was there was very orderly and respectful from what I coulld see. Yeah...I am inconvienenced a bit with the new policy but overall I like what it did to the crowd.

Upon entering the blue lot at 10:45 am, by vehicle, the attendant asked if we had four tickets for the four occupants of our vehicle. It was a breeze to park. I have no idea if this was the result of the new policy, but I enjoyed the ease of it all.

Would love the read about your experience.

Basically what Yankee outlined. I missed my ride at 6:30 in the morning, so I took a cab (my fault). It dropped me near the corner of Kirby and 610. I figured that's a short walk to the Platinum Lot where I tailgate. The officer said you have to go down to the Blue Lot entrance. I walked down there (Blue Crew is right in that corner of Platinum Lot) and was told I had to go down one more entrance. Meanwhile folks from Blue Crew were yelling at the officer and I both... I'm pointing and telling the officer "I'm right there"... Short story long I had to walk down to the west gate and then head all the way back. It was a pain in the arse!!!!

I won't be missing anymore rides - that's for sure.

I always cut thru the green lot to walk over to other lots. They wouldn't let me cut thru even with a ticket. That pissed me off.

Then I ahd to show my ticket to some lady who put a check mark on it with a sharpie.

I think that mark was put on so you could not hand the ticket through the fence for someone else to enter.

which brings up a very good question. If I walk to another lot to visit some tailgate friends and my ticket gets check marked, how to do I get back into MY parking lot where my car is and my tailgate area is?? My ticket is checkmarked so would they let me basically "re-enter' my own parking lot?

Exactly the same thing here. Lady checked my two tickets and my gameday magazine coupon. I had all three folded together when I handed them to her. I kinda tried to pull the coupon back but she quickly checked it off with a little "oomph." They weren't looking very hard but they were trying to assert some authority.

A pen? Invest in a hole puncher that punches out a Texans logo. A checkmark would be overstating it. Mine was a wavy line that kinda curves.

No trouble parking
No obscene lines at the porta cans
No overcrowding of the walking to and from the stadium.

Tailgating still had great people and fans?

Win win and uh win for me?

That's the "atmosphere" issue I was worried about. It felt like a pre-season game.

that's the thing...what if you tailgated with folks in the Green lot? Would you be ******* outta luck?

That's what's asinine about this policy, you still aren't "good to go" necessarily, even with a ticket "ON" you.

What's next? A game ticket doesn't entitle you to tailgate? Only those with Parking passes and / or tailgating passes are permitted to tailgate? You can't wander away from your Platinum Lot tailgate to visit any others (ie Orange Yellow, etc.) because your parking pass is for ANOTHER lot?

If in the Platinum, you can go to the blue, orange, red, maroon, as they are all somewhat joined together...Leaving a gated lot area is different, yellow, green...etc. So you could go to just about any other lot you wanted to..that is as long as you don't walk thru the gate to leave.

When we pulled into the Orange lot we just handed the attendant our parking pass stub like normal and that was it. We weren't asked to see tickets or tailgate passes.

Did they do a parking lot sweep out there after the game started? If so, how was it handled?

They didn't ask us either. But some folks had to show their tickets as their car entered.

Maybe they need a parking lot, with a shuttle, for those fans who have tickets but no parking pass. Check them out before they get on the shuttle and then have the shuttle take them to their respective area of choice. Just a suggestion.

I save my tickets to each and every game and have a collection of each season framed with opponent, score, and the game ticket I sat in for that game. They are NOT going to write on my game ticket with a sharpie.... not going to happen. :pirate:

Orange lot here. Between 8 and 10.

Wasn't ask for gameday tickets, or tailgate passes. Parents werent asked for tickets or passes.

My sister and her son who rode the light rail were asked for tailgate passes as they entered the gate.

4 people who stayed out tailgating during the entire game were never asked for passes or tickets.

They said it was pretty dead outside during the game. And I noticed that the bathroom lines were low to non existant all day. Aslo the vehicle exit lines were short and was clear very quickly.

orange lot here
it was great !! had no problems they checked out passes like 1230 out in parking lot . really loud ass radios/djs kept low though out the game !! NO FIGHTS for once :ant: so loved the new policy !! GO TEXANS :fans:

Still a goal of mine to make it over to your tailgate.

Did you get the tailgater of the game award? I could have sworn I saw the banner hanging from your canopy as I was heading to the gate to give someone tickets at 11:15.
I knew our group was not going to be in the running... I guess the 25 people wearing Giants jerseys made sure of that.
But as for being checked at the gate, all they cared for was the parking pass.

no not me :boogie:

Once you enter the Texans' premises, we are debating whether you can go to another lot that requires leaving the Texans' premises. I'll e-mail the FO.

Okay gotcha, but leaving the Texan's premises would be crossing Kirby correct?

I hope they do not have a rule such as this because when I tailgate I walk to multiple tailgates all around Reliant.

I have a feeling that in time the difficulty in going from lot to lot and tailgate to tailgate will be on par with crossing the Inter-German border prior to 1988.

To cut down on "problems" and to "maximize the enjoyment of the game day experience"- a favorite term of one of the shill's for the Texans management that posts on here, I think the days of unlimited access for everyone to the various parking lots are over.

You will be able to party in your parking lot, walk over the bridge, go to the game, leave and go home. Look for chain link to be installed to segregate the parking lots during the offseason.

Bob wants you in your seats by 12:00 anyway so you can yell, cheer, and buy HIS overpriced Beer and lousy food.

If you don't like Bob's rules, you are exiled to Astroworld.

They checked all walk up traffic for tickets.

And told my friend who's a 3 yr season ticket holder but parks at a cash lot that he had to walk to the other side of the stadium to enter.

Thereby missing our usaul tailgating fun.

That's our problem...with only 2000 tailgating passes we lost our keepers of the space for now. Everything is back to normal..the fans are leaving early as usual. I just hope that the new rules
don't alienate some of their hardcore fans that used to tailgate but just couldn't afford game tickets.
