Can't blame the loss only on Kubiak, plenty of blame to go around for this ugly pathetic excuse of a performance for the Texans. We were out coached AND out played.

Why did it seems as if the Texans were intimidated and scared against both the Cowboys and Giants?

Not good. Considering we still have the Jets, Chargers, Ravens, Titans (twice),
Jags (twice), Eagles, and the Colts on MNF in THEIR house itching to get
back for their week one loss.

The Giants and Cowboys smashed the Texans in the mouth, and the Texans
folded. That's the trend we've seen year-in-year-out, but it's on tape
on THIS year's squad. The Texans don't consistently play smash mouth
against teams that DO play smash mouth every week.

Post Chief's game is gonna be VERY interesting.

Smaller and faster linemen don't cut it against NFC East teams.

Was it Butler who was on Osi Umenoriya because whoever was got destroyed during this game. We've known for a looong time that our o-line is abysmal, DBs suck, and our DTs wouldn't even make the Lions final roster IMO.

All I ask for is go back to the basics and be ready to play... :cutthroat:

Butler did ok. Justin Tuck caused the most disruption.

They tipped passes four times in the first half. Why the coaches didn't have Schaub pump fake is a mystery.

I don't know what it is people expect him to say. He can't be calling individual players out in press conferences or his players will turn on him. He's doing what any great leader does: takes the blame for the bad things and hands out credit for the good things. Then in private, you take care of what needs to be taken care of amongst the individuals.

This thread is not the place for logic...

Exactly. I'll take "It's on me" over the "we didn't execute" days.

Exactly. Listen to other coaches press conferences and you will get the same coach speak after every game. This isn't just a Houston thing. And the jokes are much more stale than hearing coach speak. Come up with something new people...

Which leads me to ask - seriously, why do you guys listen to it any more?

While watching Kubiaks press conference I noticed at about the 1:10 mark Kubiak said "We played undisciplined and that's a reflection on me". You can read alot into a statement like that and if he wants to accept the responsibility then I say we let him. I lost faith in Kubiak last year and would like to see him gone at the end of this season.

YES. RIGHT FREAKING ON.

What I want to know is how this makes our skills players bumbling I-D-I-O-T-S for the day. I guess Schaub can't step into passes. This makes AJ drop easy catches how? It makes Foster drop a simple toss how?

Our secondary sux, so that was a given... I didn't know KJ was freaking retarded, but I knew he was a clueless rookie....and that Pollard bites on....EVERYTHING. :rake:

I still think this team is built to beat the freaking Longhorns. I don't know how that helps us, but I THINK we could do it...

Is Kubiak the Wayne Fontes of the AFC South?

Instead of "It's all on me", why not try "Some of our players haven't developed as quickly this season as we expected them to" and along with that "Rick is looking at bringing in some free agent veterans to try out." Anything like that is better than that lost glazed over look of despair and "It's all on me". To be a leader he might suggest solutions. That is what leaders do. He might also do something drastic like open every position on the team to competition to see if has any real ball players and if so who wants it the most. I have never believed the best player always starts on this team

The team just doesn't do well against "mean" D's. Particularly smash mouth front 7's.

Defences like the Chargers, Titans, Jags and Colts don't really scare me. It's the units of the Jets & Ravens who frustrate me the most, teams who you know going in are probably going to impose their will and break the Texans within one quarter.

I agree that the Chief's game is going to be interesting. They are a unit that the Texans should be able to score a ton of points on. If they can't, they are going to have a ton of work to do.

The Chiefs held down Indy pretty well in Indy. Manning had a 65 rating and was just 26 of 44 passing. No passing touchdowns allowed, and Indy only scored a rushing TD late in the game. I am not confident that we should or could put up a lot of points on them.
