Randy Moss headed back to Minnesota

I bet Randy's felling appreciated now!

Belichick's a tough SOB and doesn't allow any dissention in the ranks.

I think the Texans would be crazy not to ask what the price is. I would even waive the extension. Make a run at it this year. Wont happen, cause he doesn't block, but I would ask.

this is laughable...texans front office dont have the balls to pull a trigger like this and we all know it...dream on

texans=no splash via free agency and trades....they dont make any moves ever that are potentially game changing or risky at all

Matt Schaub might disagree.

Really? Reallly?/ Really???

And just how much would you be willing to pay to bring in a 34 yr old prima donna WR?

This is one of the more ridiculous stretches of imagination that has floated around in a while...

I'm just suggesting kicking the tires. I wouldn't go crazy, but why not check.

The thing is, if they do check, you'll probably never know because as a fan, you'll never hear about it. And then you'll say something like "The Texans never even talk to the big name FAs to find out if they could land them" when, for all you know, they have.

But, the question is, would we want Moss? I just don't think he's a good fit with our offense or the chemistry of our team.

Agreed. We have Randy Ross x 2 in Andre, and Wes Welker Mark Two in KW.

What the heck do we do with Randy Moss? I'd keep the money and cap room.

I haven't been this close to giving a neg rep in a while. :wadepalm:

Unless he can play cornerback I wouldn't waste my time. As was just mentioned above, he wouldn't fit in.

 He did get an INT once...

Dats right! I'm a bad man!!

And there in Minnesota his Super Bowl dreams will die with Favre's.

This isn't just about Favre finally having stayed a year too long. It's about the whole team being at that point where things begin to decline across the board. The Williams "Wall" isn't what it once was and in 2012, following a year of sitting around trying to get a deal done between the players and owners the Vikings will be finished for good. Favre will retire after this season, Moss might too. When those mid-30's receivers hit the wall it's like flipping a switch off. One week they're fine, the next week they don't look so good, the year after that they're Eric Moulds.

Interesting note:

Favre/Moss will be playing the Pats on 10/31 in Foxboro. Wonder if that is too early to flex?

Glad this is official and hopefully it sparks Moss and he is obviously going to be the instant #1 in Minn. I don't know how I managed to go 4-0 so far in fantasy with him starting.

Actually I do know...Arian Foster!! He has gotten me wayy too many points!

So I'm thinking BB and the Pats are smart enough to realize their team didn't get any better with this trade. Who do you think they are targeting over the bye week to replace Randy Moss? They have 2 picks in each of the first four rounds of the 2011 draft, so they have plenty of ammo to get a replacement. I'm thinking they go after Vincent Jackson this week and give up a 2nd and 4th for him, or maybe they go WAY out there and trade a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Larry Fitzgerald. That would be incredible, unlikely of course, but incredible if they did make a deal for him.

Yeah, they'll bring in someone else. Not sure who. Lee Evans maybe. Maybe a short white guy. The Pats have that market cornered.

Lee Evans might be an option, but I doubt they go for him due to the in-division issue. I would say Steve Smith (Car) would be an option but he just got hurt. I'm just thinking of talented WRs who are on bad teams that need to rebuild. I doubt Fitz wants to waste more years of his prime on a Cardinals team that is going nowhere. He may just be interested in getting with a contender or at the very least an elite QB.

VIKING SIZED FACEPALM

This guy didn't help Brady/BB win a superbowl, why in the hell would he help Favre win one 3 years later?

The Vikings are going all-in at this point. Many of their stars are aging and this team will be re-building after this year. Randy Moss is a desperate effort to get this team to the playoffs where they may pose a threat to younger teams who don't have the veteran experience like the Vikings do. This move just might get them enough to make a wild card spot in the NFC, but it's not like there were any other worthwhile WRs out there being given away for a 3rd round pick. SD reportedly wanted a 1st and another pick for VJax on top of a 10 mil a year deal.

Yeah I guess. All in on Favre and Moss. Viking size :vomit:

lol at people on the radio..."Why isn't Tom Brady saying something about losing his top target"

UH

:money:

and the long list of older star players who get even the slightest bit of upset with anything getting traded off a year or two before anyone thought they would. Brady knows. Shut up and play Billyball.

All this means is MORE talk time on football shows about the Vikings and Farve. Makes me sick. I may have to stay away from NFLN for a few days.

He did help a lot in getting the Pats to the Super Bowl...unless his 50 TDs never helped win any of those 18 games.

for the record let me clear this up....my statement was not about randy moss coming to the texans or them even checkin on that move....we dont need him...i dont want him anywhere near this team.....offense is not where we need help anyway.....

i was speakin in terms of free agency and trades perios....as a whole and how our front office would never take a chance and hit a home run on any free agents or trades....they prefer to build thru the draft

I'm sayin the texans wont even trade for something we are dying for....like a veteren CB, DT, or safety.......something i think we are 1 or 2 players away from being a bonafied contender....they play safe and work off the draft and drafting tight ends

So, you are saying they would never sign a highly ranked, high pay type of free agent? Like an Antonio Smith?... Oh wait...:wadepalm:

So uh.... what potential records could Moss break over the course of 17 regular season games?

Besides starting 17 reg. season games in one season, not much. He hasn't been doing much with the Pats and is on pace to make about 700 yards receiving this year. Factor in Brett Favre's slow demise and you got yourself a real good WR3 in fantasy football...

I think you're dead on here Dutch, but I still wouldn't be surprised if he lights it up in Minnesota.

If Sidney Rice comes back healthy, then they will have an unbelievable offense that can propel them to the playoffs. If not, they will need AP and a decent Favre to carry them. We shall see, the Bears may wind up stealing the Wild Card spot from them.

That reminds me. So much for wasting a roster spot for sidney rice for 5 weeks. Time to drop him.

Oh come on Dutch, Moss is easily a WR #2 at worst. He'll end up having some huge games for sure. Don't ever count Moss out as far as being able to go on a hot streak. He might be a little rejuvinated now, but of course I heard tht before the season started. The problem with Moss now is that more and more DB's are figuring out how to get physical with him to where he can't be as effective and Moss is a guy that needs to go off early in games. If he starts slow, he'll usually end slow. He'll have some huge games though this year. You can count on that. He is still a WR1 for now and at worst he'll be a WR2 by the end of the season. Favre will be able to get him the ball just fine.

This is my concern. There has been nothing good shown by Favre this year and he looks more like the Favre that played for the Jets in the second half of that season. I hope Moss helps Favre look better, but I just don't have much faith in him this year. I'm betting Moss won't have any huge games until Sidney Rice comes back.

"The Seahawks have a bye this weekend, the players given four days off before returning on Monday.

That doesn't mean the team is idle, though. Not with the Seahawks being one of the most active teams in the league in terms of roster moves.

One possibility to keep an eye on is that wide receiver Deion Branch would be traded to New England, the team from whom Seattle acquired him in 2006.

It's premature to say a trade is on the table, but discussions had taken place as of Wednesday night. By Thursday, the possibility of a deal was mentioned both in Seattle and in New England.

The Patriots traded Randy Moss to Minnesota earlier this week. Branch remains a local favorite in Boston, and quarterback Tom Brady is especially fond of him."
