Either way, its good for us. Either it shuts up the Dallas fans and makes them nervous again, or a division rival drops a game.

So which scenario do you prefer?

Is really a win-win situation, but I gotta go with the Tacks losing. Division opponent and any team that has Finnegan on it, I loathe.

"Yes I hate 'em hate 'em hate 'em till they box 'em up and crate 'em."

Okay I stole that from the Drew Carey Show. As much as I HATE Bud I despise the Lizzard King. If I HAD to choose between the two I'd rather see the Cowgirls dream of a Stupor-bowl in their home toilet even FURTHER out of reach. I'd rather hear a bunch of Texas Exes bragging about how great it is for VY to win a game than the muff-huggas who RUINED Texans' Tailgating for generation to come to think they have a winning streak.

I want to win our division and I want our divisional rivals to lose.

So I chose the Titans even though I'd love for the Cowboys to lose, too.

Oops. I accidentally clicked the wrong team in the poll.

It is always better that a divisional rival should lose.

And, truth be told, the Cowboys are not nearly as big of a rival now as they were back in the days of the Houston Oilers. I was surprised to discover that I had no lingering animosity at all after the loss to the Cowboys. It was a loss, which was disappointing. But not an overly important one in the scheme of things.

Time to move on from the Cowboys hatred. That is water under the bridge.

I voted Tornado. But I would prefer for them to show their true intelligence and end in a tie...

No brainer for me. The Titans because 1) I hate the Titans, 2) I hate Bud, 3) division rival, 4) I hate the Titans.

I've grown pretty apathetic about the Cowboys over the years. I dislike Cowboy fans much, much more than I dislike their team.

worst...poll...ever

and the results are pretty sad

you would rather lose to an actual rival than lose to a make believe pretend out of conference rival? man, that is like saying an Eagles fan would rather lose to the Cowboys than lose to the Steelers. Something tells me Eagles fan isn't so insecure and jealous of the Steelers success that they would forego a true rival win just so they can have some stupid and worthless bragging rights every four years.

man, and you can call it whatever you want, I call it jealousy. you can call it rivalry, but we all know a rivalry has to go both ways or its like Baylor calling UT its rival.

cmon now, Texans fans. The Titans stole our team, have ripped our heart out on numerous occassions, and are in our division and conference. It's like some of you would rather beat the Cowboys than have any actual and measurable success.

and don't hit me with the 'you just don't get it' line of BS. it is YOU that doesn't get it.

Rival > Make Believe Rival

SH, I believe it's a poll to choose which team would you rather see lose games, not who you'd rather our team lose to. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct. The Tacks play the Cowgirls in Jerry World this weekend, hence the poll.

Basically it is a who will you be rooting for on Sunday. The Titans or Cowboys since they are playing each other after our game.

BTW, there isn't much of a rivalry between the Eagles and Steelers. Geographically Philly fans hate NY. Pittsburgh is in western PA which is on another planet to most people in eastern PA.

Also Steeler fans are not as annoying as Cowboys fans. There are more annoying Cowboys fans in eastern PA than Steeler fans.

As my 8 yo son knows, there comes a strange event every four seasons - sort of an NFL solar eclipse - where our house actually roots for the Cowboys. This Sunday is that day.

I have to pour a gallon of bleach in each ear and eat three tablespoons of Palmolive while gargling Goof Off after the game, but it is so worth it if the Titans get their asses kicked.

Yes, this is a weird weekend for me too. I have 2 strange events that happen every 4 years. One, I root against the Giants and two I root for the Cowboys. This is a double whammy weekend for me. I will actually be rooting for the Cowboys to gain a game in the division over the Giants. :gun:

The Sunday before last was really bad for me ... these four teams played each and it lined up to where my 2 favorite teams played the 2 teams I hate the most. I really lost out on that one. Now my 2 favorite teams play each other as do the two teams I hate the most. Very evil scheduling by the NFL.

Yikes! I had to read your post a couple of times to figure it out. Sort of like decoding hieroglyphics. :winky:

Rooting against your second favorite team while rooting for your second most hated team in a single day...man, that's just bizarre!

Yeah, however it was worse the Sunday we played the Cowboys because the Giants were playing the Titans. Going into the day it was great however around 4PM I was pretty much like .... :gun:.

At least this Sunday something good is going to come out of it no matter what.

This poll is really a no brainer for me. The Titans are a divisional opponent, and the Cowboys are an instate team that Houston only plays once every four years. I would rather have the Titans lose, because the Cowboys record has no effect on the Texans.

Defintely want the Titans to lose, but the tornado is a tempting option...

The Cowboys will also be playing the Colts and Jags later this year. I'll be rooting for them against the Colts, but the Jags probably won't matter enough for me to care who wins. In that case I'll root for the Jags to beat the Cowboys.

Tennessee is in our division. Each time Tennessee, Indy, or Jax lose, its easier for us to win the division.

I don't care for Dallas, but this one should not be close. ALWAYS root against division opponents rather than against some random NFC team you see every 4 years. For me, Dallas is like San Francisco: some random NFC team we play every 4 years.

I hope the Cowboys win this week and when they play our other division rivals, Colts and Jags.

You don't get it, it is YOU that doesn't get it.:runaway:

I truly can't understand how any Texans 1st fan can pick anyone other than the Titans to lose. Are y'all Texans 1st or Anti-Cowboy 1st?

I root for the cowboys (when they are not playing the Texans) .. that has gone on as long as I can remember when the Oilers played them..

but I probably go overboard with me being born in Texas.. I root for all Texas teams when they aren't playing against my favorite Texas team (aka UT, Texans,Astros,Rockets) ..

screw the Tennessee tiny-ones!

I had to go with the tornado option.

I need to amend my answer... The tornado also sucks up fans from both teams. In a real freak occurance, simultaneous tornados touchdown in both Arlington and Tennessee at the same time, ridding the World of the 'Gurls and their fans (less, Frog, Starstruck and WWJD - OBVIOUSLY!) and all Tinnbreds, including the head of the trailer park association, one Mr. Bud Adams (aka Chet from Weird Science).

Okay, I'm pretty good with that amendment to my original answer!

In their remaining games, I want the Cowboys to beat the Titans, Colts and Jags...and lose the rest. You just can't root for division rivals.

4-12.

There's no question in my mind, The Titans need to lose this game. Dallas hung an "L" on us two weeks ago and that's water under the bridge. Nothing can make that better for me except beating Dallas and that won't happen in the regular season for another 2 years (and not here in Houston for another 4). The only way to make it come up any quicker is to get into the Super Bowl and meet them there. Hell, if we could manage to get to the Super Bowl this year while it's in their house that would almost be good enough even if they don't make it but I digress...

The least the Cowboys can do now is hang an "L" on Tennessee.

The "rivalry" between the Texans and the Cowboys exists only in the imagination of many Texans fans. It's not a reality outside of Houston, nor is it a realty among members of the Cowboys or the Texans.
If you're truly a fan of the Texans, you're pulling for the Cowboys everytime
they play a team in the AFC South (except the Texans of course).

Actually, Herv, we don't play Dallas in the regular season again until 2014, and not in Houston again until 2018.

It's really a shame that the Texans don't have a "natural" rival, which is usually present only with cities that have geographical proximity.
Obviously if Dallas and Houston were in the same division, but also if NOLA was in the AFC South (or Houston in the NFC South), a great rivalry would be fueled and grow more intense with time in each case.

Geographical proximity means very little, really.

Some of the greatest rivalries are built by years of teams playing each other... especially when those teams are both playing very good football. The Steelers and Raiders had a rivalry for years because they were both good teams. Right now, the real AFC Rivalries are between the Colts and the Patriots (and to a smaller degree, the Chargers) who've been at or near the top of the AFC for most of the past decade.

The NFC hasn't had that same Elite Royalty sort of thing that the AFC has had. The NFC has had different teams fight their way to the top each year. So that sort of Elite rivalry hasn't developed. But what is there are the divisional rivalries which are very intense in the NFC East and North but not so much with the South or West which are divisions that have had more turnover and turnaround.

We'll develop rivalries when we become a team that is consistently good. And of course, we'll have our divisional rivalries which are still relatively new and will get more intense with age.

Dallas and Washington are located no where near each other, and they are two heated rivals. Same for Miami and the New York Jets: Sheer hatred between the teams.

It's about history and winning being traded back and forth between teams in the same division.
