OU leads 7-0. UT had played some good defense until two costly 3rd down penalties: a 15 yard personal foul and a 10 yard holding. Without the penalties, OU may have to punt. Instead they take the 25 free yards and knock in a td.

Defensive holding is part of playing defense as well. I didn't see anything that impressed me.

And now the offense is 3-and-out.

Greg Davis play calling rears its ugly head on the UT drive. Quick pass to the left, stopped behind the LOS. Quick pass to the right, stopped behind the LOS. 7 yard pass into the middle of the field and a punt.

Greg Davis really needs to go!

They did not show the personal foul penalty so I could not see it. But, if that does not occur, there is a good chance OU is forced to punt.

The Texas D knows the offense cant do anything so they are playing not to lose. A recipe for disaster.

Oklahoma needs this win if they are to make a push in the rankings. Hopefully they play like they did against FSU.

The problem I have with Greg Davis is that he tries to force fit HIS vision as opposed to utilizing the players to their strengths. How many times have we heard that GG has a stronger arm than Colt? Yet, Davis doesn't let GG throw the ball down the field! Instead he has GG do these little dump passes that are all feast or famine plays. Let GG roll out and throw more than 5 yards!

I get the impression you don't like UT.

I'm a Cougar, so I don't really have a dog in the fight. I pull for most Texas teams when they aren't playing UH, though I do hate Baylor.

I just get tired of being told how good Texas' D is when it really isn't, that's all. I still hope they win, because I hate to see Occupied North Texas win anything.

Texas DOES have a good Defense. The issue is that it is a fast undersized D. The problem is when the offense cannot do anything, the D has to be on the field too much and they wear out. If Texas had scored tds last week, they would have forced UCLA to throw much more and it would have been a different game.

The problem for Texas is the offense not the D.

Sorry, I'm calling BS. From the first drive of this game, OU has been driving down the field steadily. All of their scores have been from close in. UCLA ran the ball down their throat from the start. The Texas D is overrated.

And the offense is a problem.

They mentioned earlier that UCLA only had like 60 yds of offense in the first half

77, actually. And then after the Horns went into the locker room and rested up during halftime, they came out and gave up an 80-yd. drive, 76 of which was on the ground, down their throats, revoking their manhood. And then UCLA just kept running it, for something like 260 yards rushing.

Garrett Gilbert sucks, he reminds me so much of David Carr (The NFL version)

I think he is better than you think, but his receiving corp is ok and the playcalling is not helping him.

Ok, that sack was not the greatest decision. Hopefully he can get better OT and wrs next year.

I'm telling you, this kid is David Carr part II

To be fair it's only his first season as a starter. Colt didn't exactly light the world on fire his first season.

Of course, I won't be disappointed if Gilbert is not all he was hyped up be (coming out of HS)...I'm not exactly a huge UT fan.

That ending was great to watch, but LSU - Tennessee was INSANE if anyone watched it. Basically, Les Miles is the dumbest D-1 coach in the history of the NCAA.. and Tennessee needs to learn how to count.

Wow. What a freakin' ending. Maybe the UT suicide watch needs to be on high alert.

To be fair the UT offense did not play well at all. Even at the end, when they had that big pass into the red zone. You HAVE to get a TD there. They could not. It would have been great if they could have gotten the ball on that Landry Jones fumble, but they did not deserve to win that game.

??? Actually Colt did light the world on fire his first season..... I believe he had a record breaking season his first year...the guy had one of the best seasons ever for a first year starter.

But this has nothing to do with Colt McCoy, because Gilbert is NOT Colt McCoy.

The guy plays just like David Carr. He has a low release point and gets balls batted down at the line, he can not feel pressure even if his life depended on it and has zero pocket presence, and he's captain check down. The guy plays just like David Carr. I hope he's not our "Drew Weatherford". (You'd have to of followed the past FSU teams to know what I'm talking about).

No suicide watch here (I was expecting a down year from UT).....I was actually hoping UT would be behind enough at half time where Mack Brown would make a move at QB. Gilbert is not the answer (atleast not in that offense....Greg Davis stinks, but that's another story) Hopefully we get into some games where we can see what Case McCoy can do, Gilbert is not the answer.

Les Miles makes Greg Davis look like Svengali. Every time I watch LSU I am amazed at how talented they are, and how little they do with it. I can't believe he won a Championship. He should have been canned last year. Until he's gone LSU will not be able to play on the same field as Saban etc.

As far as the game I'm just amazed UT ended it within one possession. They were outplayed on both sides of the ball from the start. I was very disappointed in the D, for the second week in a row -- and it's getting harder and harder to blame their meltdowns on Texas' offense. Maybe the D just isn't THAT dominant after all.

The offense has had problems all year, so I wasn't shocked at that -- although OU's defense has been subpar at best this season. If the Sooners' D shut UT down they are going to have an extremely difficult time against even someone like KSU. Nebraska will absolutely destroy them.

That's what I'm saying. Insofar as an outsider can have hopes, I had them that the Texas D could carry the team, given all the hype. I watch a lot of Alabama football (wife's an alumnus), and let me tell you - that defense won games for them last year. They had a pretty bad offense early in the year before Ingram really got rolling and before McElroy found his stride. Watching them this season, they've taken up right where they left off.

Sorry, the Texas D just doesn't pass the eyeball test, which sucks, because it's the only Texas team I can identify with that normally has a shot at something good. (And with Keenum down, my school's season is over)

Les Miles makes Kubiak look like a genius when it comes to clock management.
