Funny article re: Texans vs. Cowboys

The Cowboys travel to Houston this week, where 0-3 is a distinct possibility heading into the bye week. That would qualify as disaster.

We all know Houston will treat the game like the Super Bowl. When you’ve never won one, the next best thing is beating the hated Cowboys.

No shame in that. It is what it is.

Bottom line: Houston’s crowd will whip itself into an emotional frenzy, and the players will feed off their energy. This game will be every bit the challenge for the Cowboys as trying to beat undefeated New Orleans last December.

The Cowboys won that game. There’s a sliver of hope these Cowboys could beat Houston, but it’s certainly not based on common sense or anything we’ve seen during the first two weeks of the season.

Silly Cowgirl fans.........always thinking it's about them, like usual

Correction......this isn't the Texans' Super bowl...they're 2-0 and have put themselves in position where they can actually afford to lose this game. This is the Cowboys' Super bowl, because without a win next week they can collectively bend the hell over and kiss their SB or Playoff challenging asses goodbye.

NEWSFLASH DALLAS, The NFL world doesn't revolve around you....this isn't our SB and you're just another bump on our playoff road. Show up and treat next week like it's your "Super bowl" or limp up I-45 with another loss and another confirmation of how overrated and overhyped your team is year in and year out.

Yep. That was very condescending. The writer ripped the Cowboys, but at the same time, slammed the Texans.

meh... everyone thinks that their game is our superbowl. Its a sign of fear. They are afraid that we are going to come in there and beat the piss out of them...they know we are more talented, they know we are a better team, so they cannot insult our skills.. the only thing they can do is say "yeah you will beat us...but only because you take this stuff too seriously"

Its just silly. This is an insult that should never have advanced beyond high school. The ol' "yeah you beat me but its only cause im too cool and awesome to take it as serious as you" is nothing more than the juvenile bleating of a team that has either accepted that they are not in our league, or has already been beaten so soundly that they have nothing left but to pick their pathetic ass up off the ground and try to maintain some tattered sense of self-worth.

In short.. **** em. The team that plays every game like it is the superbowl is the team that will be playing on February 6th.

Awesome post all the way.

Hey, we got our Superbowl next weekend! :tomato:

I do agree with everything being said, but I like all the excitement and think it's working in our favor. Let's just see how close we can come to 19-0....one Superbowl at a time. :fans:

If you treat every game like the Super Bowl, there is a good likelyhood one of them will actually BE the Super Bowl

I couldn't have said it any better myself. I told myself at the beginning of the season that we could possibly go 3-1 in our first four games. Not because we suck but because of the trap game theory. I figured if we beat the Colts, our team would buy into the system and pull out a win against Washington, and from there one of two things would happen. A) We lose to the Cowboys because we think our crap don't stink or B) We beat the Cowboys and then lose to Oakland because we think our crap don't stink.

it is a freaking no win right now for the Texans. it is what it is.. IF the Texans win, they will say 1)The Texans played their Super Bowl (like the article) or 2) Cowboys aren't that good this year or 3) Cowboy fans will revert back to the Super Bowl wins (even though it doesn't matter that the Texans have only been in the league since 2002 and have 1 less playoff win than the Cowboys within that time span)

If the Cowboys win, People will jump back on the bandwagon again and start talking Cowboys Super Bowl in Arlington stadium again (like they have been doing for the last year) ..

so who's Super Bowl really is it?

I honestly am figuring the Cowboys will come out and play like a super Bowl team.. they don't want to be 0-3 going into their bye week and also how the Texans put an ass whipping on them on the dress rehearsal in preseason.. If the Cowboys don't have motivation for this game, then kiss their season goodbye

It's pretty funny to read their forum and see how down they are on their team (can't blame them - they suck).

They always throw that condescending "it's their Super Bowl" at us when in reality if they beat us it will be like THEIR Super Bowl, they are so desparate for a win.

bwahahahaha......

Unless we come out flat they will be staring at an 0-3 start and they can stick their condescending noses where the sun don't shine.

Spears and linebacker Keith Brooking(notes) both said the team isn’t facing a crisis. However, they realize they are getting closer to that stage. The Cowboys are headed to Houston, where they are hated as much as anywhere, to face the undefeated Texans. With a bye week after that, falling to 0-3 would be devastating.

“Our focus is getting to 1-2,” Brooking said. “There is a sense of urgency. Guys realize that. We know this is a big game. But you can’t make it bigger than what it is, and you dang sure can’t make it smaller than what it is.”

Cowboys hoping small changes make a big difference

The cowgirls have a point, just like the colts do. We WILL treat this as a Super Bowl game, just like we did week 1 against the Colts. The Texans haven't done squat in the NFL, and the only real rivalries we ahve are the old Houston team and another expansion team, the Jags. We, as fans and the Texans, as a team, view thses games as much bigger than they are becuase we lack the playoff histories they have. They are rivalries in Texans minds only. We win this week and sweep the Colts, onour way to the playoffs, then maybe they will view this as a rivalry too. Until then, these games are our Super Bowls.

You'd be surprised. I'm in DFW currently, and the sports radio up here, around Monday I'd say, was saying this was the Texans' Super Bowl. Today, I start hearing the sports media saying it's actually Dallas' Super Bowl because they are 0-2 and the Texans are 2-0. They're finally starting to get it.

The Cowboys game makes me nervous, we are going up against a talented team with their backs against the wall, this will be no cakewalk, I'll be really pleased if we win Sunday

I agree. They remind me of us last year - a team loaded with talent that keeps shooting itself in the foot. But dangerous if they put it all together in one game.........

Likewise. I just hope they have one left in the chamber.:D

I like the maturity I'm seeing from all the players and I think even Kubes is showing a confidence I've not seen prior. I think this game will tell scores about how much this team has grown.:texflag:

I really think Kubiak's lack of confidence in the past has hurt his team in a few instances. He talks about putting the game in their hands and then turtles up on them. I have seen a different attitude from HIM this year and it is catching.

Yeppers on the one in the chamber..... they need to find another way to lose this week. It will be fun to watch them :panic:

Preaching to the choir

Amen brother!

I wanna see M Dub stealing Romo's lunch money AND his chick!

I wanna see Dre' burn these South Oklahoma DB's like a blind woman who can't smell trying to make toast in the morning!

I wanna see Arian man-dozing little cry baby South Oklahoma LB's all over the field.

I want this team to be pissed and hit these slack jawed tricks straight in da mouf!!!

I want to see Jerra's face begin to melt under the pressure and Wade call his dad for advice at he half!!

I want carnage, mayhem and destruction of the Little d tricks and send them home without a coach who will be fired after this game.
