why would Sam Houston State University play big name schools this year ?? They play Texas Tech Raiders early in the season and one other big time school, last season the bearkats marched their way through the play-offs but lost one game before the championship. Only losing a total of 2 games. Would this impressive play put them up against big Universities ????
 
Because the larger universities pay them. It's one way smaller schools build up their programs. Get your butt kicked by a Div-1A school, collect your check, use the money to better your program.

Yes, then use that money to recruit. Show recruits that all we needed was X to beat Big Name School and YOU could have been that piece to beat them. So come here to smaller scghool start right away and help us beat Big Name school!
 
yeah, look at texas state, not very good of a team. but they played baylor last year, almost beat them too. only div 1a school they played last year.

That pretty much sums it up...Mid-September could be a very ugly time around Hunstville since its highly likely that U of H and Tech are going to hand our a**es to us on a platter...
 
Well Ill be in Huntsville on Oct. 22 for a more meaningful game of braggging rights not money. Im from SFA and I have a bunch of friends that go to Sam.

Does anyone know how Josh Moore is doing? Does he get a lot of playing time now?
 
I'm with LBblitz on this one. I am from SFA too and we are going to beat the 'Kats this year and skin'em when the game is done. However, it should be a great game to watch as both SHSU and SFA both got a few transfers from bigger schools at mainly offensive positions.
