Trying to start a tailgate

Tailgate.Kidz

Hello everyone. I am new to the site but not a new Texans fan. ive been gone since 2004 cause of military duties but now im back in houston and ready to start supporting my team from here!

With that being said, i also need some help and tips on how to start a tailgating team or group the right way. I would like to have a bus for the group to.

If someone on here has their tailgating partys on point, please help me in getting started. Thanks

Bwahahahahahahaahahhahahaahhaahahah. Sorry, in reference to a thread griping about my tailgate.

Get a Planitum pass and come party with us!

You don't need a high falutin' Platinum pass to tailgate.

Pick a lot...bring some friends, food and drink and have a good time. Each time you do it, you figure out what you will need. Its not hard to do...really. Have your friends bring some stuff to the party.

Sometimes bsmall is better...big just means expensive(although there is nothing wrong with that either).

The point is...just tailgate and have fun!

Be sure to bring yourself some shade early in the season. It gets really hot.

Welcome back and thanks for serving !!!

As for starting one up.. as stated above, grab some friends, pick a lot, (they all have good one's) and start out small... it will get bigger as each game goes by until you figure that it is how you want it.. Get some canopies, coolers and a grill.. from then on, it'll be like you've always been there..

ill check ur thread ou....but as for a platnum pass, ima have to pass cause i kno those are hard and expensive to come by.

If you do not have season tickets, you'll need to find passes on Ebay or on here. You can not buy them at the gate the day of them game.

No need to read my thread, I was griping about some friends :)

ive tried to organize a group of freinds to go in for a bus a year ago so we would have enough time to get it this season but it failed. im thinking i will get the bus in the near future but for now its going to be small with canopies.

Is their anythng extra needed to be able to have a a bus their?? like permits or more passes???

as for parking passes, one of my friends has season tix and a yellow lot pass. i spoke with him and he said that i would be able to buy some still. is that true?

You need one pass for each parking space your vehicle will occupy. Also, if you're thinking bus, you may want to check out insurance first. I've been told (so it may not be true) you have to pay for number of passengers possible, even if you rip all the seats out.

Believe me when I tell you, there is nothing highfalutin about our Crew. Have you met Joe Texan??

What Yankee said. Come by and either start tailgating with us or at least swing by and pick our brains, hang out and observe.

Recipe for a tailgating team:

Mix together:

1 part friends, 1 part cooler, 1 part grill & food.

Top it off with chairs and a canopy.

Sit back and Enjoy!

I dunno man, $120.00 doesn't really sound that bad for a Texans canopy. I paid close to that for my current canopy (canopy #3, since 2002) which is not a Texans canopy.

man, after searching online for a texans canopy, prices are rediculous! looks like the walmart deal was a steal.

also looking at a bus this weekend. whoop whoo!!

You only need a canopy if you have a parking space, If you are going to some one elses tailgate you probably dont need a conopy and wont have room for it any ways.

I resemble this remark,

The only thing I remember from the Yellow Lot is the grass, And the Preacher and something about 30 minutes jk

I have a hard time leaving cause I got the piniata and man these Texan Kids have an aching for smashing the piniata

Mojo! A good friend of mine tailgates in yellow, and she told me she got an e-mail from the Texans telling her they would have to purchase two yellow passes if they were going to tailgate. They are small, just her and her husband and sometimes a couple of friends. They have a truck and reg size tent, nothing elaborate. She told me they had restructured the parking spaces and some of them are much smaller. Have you heard anything about this? I was just wondering if you had been contacted also.

Dude, it's all about having a good time. What consists of good times for others may not be a good time for you. If you enjoy yourself, you got a good one.

Again, come visit Blue Crew for the Cowboys game. Soakit in and pick our brains. We've only been doing it for 8+ seasons..

JB, the good are what its about! but I want the tailgates me an my boys put together good times x10! lol I mean were already lookin at buses to buy! were tryin to move fast to be set for as many home games as possible.

Hobie-------------> :hobie:

Actually -- there's a lot of that in the Blue Lot. Tailgates that consist of:

-4+ parking spaces
-6+ guys
-enough stereo equipment to power four night clubs
-enough booze to stock four night clubs

Then they get in stereo fights with the tailgate across the aisle, lol.

If the bus I get only takes up one space in a lot, do I still need two passes? I've heard both ways.
someon fill me in on what's right.

As long as your bus fits in one space, you should only need one pass. Mojo1 has been to every game since 2003. She's pretty big, but fits in one parking space, therefore one pass. One time in 70+ games the parking lot chick said I needed two passes. I told her I only needed one since I only took up one space. She waived me right in.

Depends on what size bus you are getting. If you are planning on a short bus then 1 spot should be fine. If you are planning to get a full size bus then you have to have 2 passes.
