The Next Two Opponents

Extremist
We just got a chance to see the Texans' next two opponents play each other.

Consider me NOT SCARED.

The only concern I have about playing the Skins is that it's a road game.

The Cowboys look like they could go 6-10 this year.

The schedule that had everyone worried during the offseason is starting to look like a cakewalk.

My only concern is the Redskins getting their running game going, and possibly McNabb finding his groove against us. He looked atrocious tonight, and I am scared that he's going to get some things corrected and get back on track by next week.

The Redskins defense does not scare me. The LBers look confused and as if they don't understand how to function in the 3-4. The three down linemen in their 3-4 are not scary. Orakpo is somewhat dangerous, but Barron tonight was just being lazy and sticking his arm out there instead of moving his feet.

------------------

The Cowboys will have had another game before we meet them. So I will reserve judgment until I see them play next week.

As it stands, they're the same team we played in the preseason: Offensive line is in shambles, Romo is erratic but is connecting with Miles Austin on a lot of plays. That's the one aspect I worry about, because they are in sync with one another, and Austin can get down the field. Fast.

Their run game is awful.

Their defense sucks really bad.

-------------------

Barring these two teams somehow finding cohesiveness in the next few weeks, we're going to be 3-0 if we play OUR brand of football.

Of course, we have to play the games (not just give or opinion). So we'll see.

Al Michaels just said "The Houston Texans are probably for real."

Everybody is jumping on the Texans bandwagon now. Everybody.

This is a strange new world for me.

they can beat the skins, the win today was a real win as opposed to the other Colts win. Foster is the new hope for the Texans. Go Texans!

Two 3-4 defenses coming up. Looking forward to see how the offensive line holds up.

I don't see how those teams' 3-4 can hang.

Freaking Chris Myers was getting into the second level today and just pushing LBers out of the way. His run blocking today really stood out to me. In a good way.

Foster's vision is like a hawk. His moves are like a snake. And his burst is like a cheetah with his ass on fire.

I feel god, but things can change really fast. I just hope the Skins and Cowboys have some rust still on them when we play them.

I went with 11-5. I believe if you guys can beat the Colts in Week 1 it will boost the team's confidence and you guys will be able to string together 6 straight wins before the bye week. Although I'm hoping you guys hit a slight bump in Week 4 and roll over the rest of the teams on your schedule.

This may end up being my first prediction that I've gotten right! :D I will be shocked if you guys don't win at least 2 of the 3 upcoming games. I'm fully expecting the Texans to dominate in these next 3 games.

Me too.... then Giants and Chiefs.... Giants scare me a bit, KC not so much.

Then Indy and San Diego, and @JAX might not be a cakewalk either.

5-1 at the bye and 6-3 by W10 sounds right.

One of the best things about today is that two parts of the Texans game came up with big performances: the defense and the running game. Either one of these would have been great to have, but if they can keep it up, those two things together are going to work together to cause other teams to have to come up with a great game to beat us. Which is an advantage the elite teams always have.

During the game, I was texting two buddies of mine at the same time.

Buddy one is a Redskin season ticket holder, and he was at the game.

Buddy two is a huge Cowboy fanatic, who turns into a jerk when it comes to his team.

Basically, I told them, in separate texts, that they both better get ready for us. Both teams looked sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.

I did notice that the Skins are already looking like Shanahan's team already. They actually look a bit like the Texans.

Im not so ready to declare victory against either team. I think the dallas coach should of been fired last year, but they have a great D and thier offense when they get in rhythem is great.
As for the redskins, im not so sure. I don't buy into all the hype about thier coach. But they have the tools to be a decent team, and as we know it just takes a chris brown pass, a Kris brown missed field goal, or almost getting beat the the rams last year to ruin our expectations. Everyteam we face this year deserves respect and the Texans should treat every game like this first one. Atleast thats how I will be this season.

I remember when we played the Broncos reading all their fan comments stating how our offenses looked identical. Something along the lines of "its like playing a doppelganger." At the time I didn't really appreciate the comment because I was still learning our offense myself. Now that I have seen our guys work in this offense so much it was very evident how similar the Redskins already are philosophically. They aren't as crisp, efficient and talented on but the plays are the same. Hopefully this game winds up similar to the Broncos game.

One game is simply not enough to convince me that we are as good as people are saying. I know that we CAN be that good, but consistency has been our biggest issue for a couple of years now. I hope we are past that stage and we are ready to bring it. If we are playing our best football, then I do believe that we can win.

One thing that scares me is the possibility of an emotional let down after this big Colts win. We had so much invested in this game, and I hope the players are able to get just as amped up next week. We have to bring it for 60 minutes again.

I enjoyed the game today immensely but I think you got more out of it than I did.

Put me in this category. I'm waiting until week 13, before I decide we've
turned the corner or not. Hence, my signature.

Well said

There is no doubt that we looked good out there. We've gotta come out firing though. We've already had one game where we didn't show up (albeit preseason).

I think that McNabb isn't the same player he once was, hence Philly was ok with trading him to a team in the division, but the Skins will start coming together and Shanahan is a good coach.

I'll reserve judgement for the Cowgirls until I see them (struggle) in week 2.
