I read a headline almost 24 hours ago, saying Houshmandzadeh was on the block, or would be flat out released by the SeaHawks, & I'm surprised I haven't seen a thread here.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh reportedly out in Seattle

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports former Lions first-rounder Mike Williams has earned a starting spot ahead of the 10th-year pro, and coach Pete Carroll likes young receivers Deon Butler and Golden Tate. Deion Branch is set as the team's No. 1 receiver, and Ben Obomanu is expected to round out the receiving corps.

The PI speculates Carroll is concerned that Houshmandzadeh, in addition to being an older player, may not be a team player.
Ouch.

Housh still caught 79 balls for like 900+ yards and a few TD's last season. May not be worth his current contract but I bet he goes back to Cincy if he gets straight up released.

Ocho, TO, with Housh in the slot would not be a terrible WR corps.

he should go to Chicago after skiiping on TO i think the could use another weapon for Cutler

His contract is big but I think if he goes to a true contender he's be worth it.

The thing is, he can sign a one year contract for whatever at this point because the Seahawks have to pay him a ton already this year. Whoever gets him doesn't have to pay a mint this year.

Oakland better be interested, our WR core is very weak. Our "#1" receiver Chaz Schilens is injured again, and DHB is still a work in progess. We pretty much only have Louis Murphy as decent WR.

Minnesota should sign him.

With Rice out half the season and Harvin having migraines he would do well.

Plus he could make up for the mistake of signing with Seattle over Minnesota last year.

They're going to straight up cut him. That contract isn't good for anything right now.

If he wants a big deal, he's going to have to sign a 1 yr deal somewhere, and prove that he's a number 1. Which he isn't.

He is a good number two though.

Yeah, #2 as in TURD.

I drafted him in my FFL last year, thinking he would play up to his contract.

Oops! He stank. STANK. I think he had one decent game and the rest were worse than you can ever imagine.

He might play better with a better QB on a true contender. The Seahawks were not that last season as you already. And lord knows Mini needs WR help if the prise is right.

I agree with all of what you said. As soon as I posted what I said, I realized those two things!

1. The 'Hawks were awful last year. All the way around.

2. Minnesota does need the WR help.

So, gary, you and I were thinking the same thing. You got in here and posted it. Nicely done.

Another case of a #2 that thought he was a #1. He was Robin and wanted to be Batman....now he looks like the Joker.

As much as people "hate" Ocho Cinco" he's always been aware of the dynamic between he & Housh... He's always said, "there ain't no 85 without 84, and there ain't no 84 without 85."

:panic:

Hope its not true!

I have three things to say to you;

1. You should stop being a Raiders fan bro, if you haven't realized it by now THE OAKLAND RAIDERS SUCK!

2. In addition, Houshmandzadeh wouldn't want to make another bad mistake and sign with another team that definitely won't be in playoff contention.

3. Lastly, to refer back to my first point, adding someone like T.J. Houshmandzadeh isn't going to make your team that much better. Especially when you look at the recent history of good players going to Oakland, remember Randy Moss? He wasn't a "bust," things worked out a little better with Brady in New England.

He might not be good as a matter of fact he might be as bad as he was last season. Who knows? But as this point one thing is very true they have to have some one to throw to and all that is left to choose from is left overs on the waiver wire and free agents. That's it so you have to roll with who is out there and go after them or just roll with who got. The choice is not an easy one to make but considering both Rice and Harvin being as big a question mark as they are right now for the right price TJ might not be a bad signing. I would not be surprised to see Mini bring in a few more wideouts at all. Because remember you have to start somewhere to get anywhere and unlike Houston they need it.

So you're saying we (TT members) should have stopped being Texans fans when they were horrible? The guy is a hardcore Raidas fan, and I respect that.

I see where you're coming from, but if this guy is a "hardcore Raidas fan," why is he begging for Houshmandzadeh while being overly bias on a TT forum?

I think I have at least a valid argument by telling him to stop being a Raiders fan. He doesn't have to take my advice, though I think he should know what other people are thinking of his wishful thinking in pushing for T.J.

Personally, I hate it and get pissed off when Cowboy fans tell me that I should stop being a Texan's fan and start following a real team. No one should ever stop being a fan of a team just because they suck, that's being a fair-weather fan and that's not really a fan at all.

Kulluminati wants Houshmanzadeh for the Raiders and posts about it in the NFL section of the board, there's nothing wrong with that. The Raiders need to upgrade the WR corps like he said.

Yeah, I gotcha bro. I've been guilty myself of wanting the Texans to pick up a player that wasn't all that great just because they were so shitty at the time. TJ is not the be all end all, but hell the Raiders can use all the help they can get right now, lol.

Alright, I agree with both False Start and The Pencil Neck. I was being rude and I should respect a fan sticking to his team.

Kulluminatii, I owe you an apology. So, I'm sorry. Keep loving your Raiders and wear the black and silver makeup.

But be ready for a beatdown on October 3!

Repped. Good post.

Yes, they have sucked for the past 7 years, but with all the moves we have made in the draft and this off season it seems we are at least trying to turn things around.

Bro if you know football, you know that nothing is a sure thing. While I myself don't believe we are a playoff-caliber team, who knows what could happen? :D

I'm not saying TJ will end up being like Andre Johnson here in Oakland, but we are very weak at the WR position (full of young players & injured ones) and need all the help we can get. Also, if you watched any of the games with Randy Moss in Oakland, it should be fairly obvious he never wanted to be here. I can't say I blame him, going into a game expecting to lose really takes a toll on you.

Thanks man :D. I'll admit over these past 7 years I've been tempted to try and follow another team, but I just couldn't convince myself to do it. If the Raiders aren't in the playoff hunt, I always have a certain other team I could fall back on and support during the playoffs :texflag:.

No worries man, I'll be ready to see a beatdown on Oct 3...will be interesting to see which team will be on the receiving end :fingergun:.

She, not he.

R you saying you're not?

I always thought you were a chick.

A hot chick if it makes you feel better.

Well...it kinda does :D. Seriously though, what would make you think that? I thought my frequent posting in the "Babe of the day" thread would kinda send off the signal I'm a dude...or perhaps a lesbian I guess....

Lesbian chicks who dig football...

You can see where the Hot factor comes in right?
