Hit on AJ's knee

gtexan02

Working?
Did anyone else see that nasty side hit on AJ's knee when he was planted? Looked pretty bad.

Anyone worried about him?

Did Kubiak say anything?

I hope he's ok, but how is that hit not illegal? If AJ was a QB that would've been a penalty and a big time fine. The DB just went straight for his knees!

I saw it and it kind of pissed me off, but AJ seemed to shake it off pretty quickly and that was that. I'm not saying anything was intentional, but I didn't care for the technique being as low as it was. I'll bet the knee is sore today though.

It totally freaked me out when I saw it, as it looked even worse thanmany of the same shots that put QBs out of commission.

Larry Fitz kept playing after his injury. Im hoping we dont get a bad surprise come monday

Yeah, this freaked me out. :foottap:

I don't see the problem.

Most coach's preseason schedule is about the same:

Game 1 starters play a few series (10-15 snaps)
Game 2 starters play most of the first half (20-30 snaps)
Game 3 starters play into the third quarter
Game 4 starters generally play a series or not at all

The Saints had pro bowlers and all pros out there for most of the first half. Maybe Payton needs a lesson in coaching 101. Hell they had Greer (their #1 corner) out there in the 3rd when I stopped watching.

Goatcheese...
The Texans played the 1st string everything the entire 1st half.

Whats your point? They should have taken it easy on the Texans. I thought they did. The Saints had there 2nd string in there early in the 2nd quarter. They kicked the crap out of the Texans.

They pulled Brees early. Most of their starters continued to play.

I'm trying to understand your reasons and mentality for posting here so much.

Are you one of those people who loves to talk trash and harass people? Because that's what it feels like.

I just put you on my ignore list because every damn post by you is some junior-high level trash talk that says how bad we are. We aren't THAT bad, but you seem to try and make it so.

I have dealt with enough of your stoopidity and you're gone from my viewing experience. I suggest other people do this as well. :worldpeace:

If I'm not mistaken, sans Drew Brees, the Saints were still playing most of their first string/normal rotation players...

I am not sure, but I specifically remember Bush being in and Chase throwing a pass to Colston...

Rubbish. There is no set standard. You also need to realize that it may take one team longer to ge those 20 - 30 snaps. These things don't line up nicely with quarters. It also depends on if the coach wants to see some success or not.

Add that to the fact that the Saints played their 3rd string QB most of the game.

Trash Talk? Where is trash talk? Do you even know what Trash Talk is? Really? I may be negative, but I am not trash talking.

Good GP. Put me on ignore. You have no clue what you are talking about.

If you cant handle both sides of the coin then ignore is the place for me.

Ahhhh, a Saints lurker. Bet you didn't have the balls to come in here a couple of years ago when you and your buddies were wearing paper bags on your head.

It's Preseason don't go ordering your Superbowl tickets yet there Saints Boy!!!!!

While we did play our starters the whole first half they didn't get much quality time.

- the first time we got the ball it was with 9:02 to go in the 1st Qtr. we went 3 & out.

- the second time we got the ball we drove 95 yds on 7 plays for 7 pts. when we got the ball there was only 3:12 left in the 1st qtr.

- the next time we got the ball Foster fumbled the ball away on our third play of the drive

- and on our final possession of the half we went 36 yds on five plays and kicked the FG.

We didn't break 20+ snaps on offense until the half was nearly done because the defense couldn't get off the field; only 18 snaps for our offense the entire first half. They only had 7-8 snaps by the end of the 1st qtr. I mean, seriously, would YOU have pulled the starters after only 8 snaps? lookin' the way they looked??

meanwhile, the two 1st qtr drives that Drew Brees was in on used 11 and 12 plays. So Brees got his 20+ snaps all in the first quarter. That's why the backup QB got so much time.

Bottom Line:
AJ and Schaub were still out there the whole first half because they didn't get very many snaps.

And I'm a bit surprised no one is b!tchin' that Schaub was left in the game so long.
(a) Like Gary said, AJ is a beast and can take a lick and
(b) Understand I don't want to lose either man BUT if I HAVE to make a choice on which one to lose for a few games, I'd rather lose AJ before Schaub because, IMHO, our backup WR situation is WAAAY better than our backup QB situ.

Shh... we're talking football here. If you need to scribble on a wall and giggle, try the bathroom at the 7-11 down the street. You are annoying.
