After they completed their minicamp Wednesday morning, the Texans made 12 personnel moves, including agreeing to terms on a four-year contract with rookie guard Shelley Smith.
Smith, a sixth-round pick from Colorado State, received a deal worth $1.894 million.
The Texans also signed three free agents who had been brought in for tryouts: tight end Derrick Fine, fullback Justin Griffith and receiver Bobby Williams.
The Texans waived veteran tight end Michael Gaines and six undrafted free agents offensive tackle Adam Ulatoski, receiver London Crawford, quarterback Tyler Sheehan, guard Kristian Matte, linebacker Will Patterson and fullback Jack Corcoran.
