Question Texans Fans

Too many times, the media always focuses on the big names of any franchise, and there are many players that have played that were Pretty Damn Good in their own right.. So the question is:

Who is a former Texans player that you want fans of other teams to know about?

I plan to do a show called "The Hall of Very Good" which will include a team by team pick of "Who You Should Know About"

I always liked Sage Rosenfels, and though he made one HUGE bone-headed play (Rosencopter), I think if he ever gets a chance to start, he will take the bull by the horns and excel. At worst, he was a more than capable backup QB.

Kailee Wong, linebacker for the Texans from 2002 through 2006. Hard-working, unselfish, and solid football player. Not a Pro Bowler but a heck of a football player.

Thirded! (Although it's not an absolute given that he's done as a Texan)

He's not a Houston Texan right now. He should be drawing unemployment at this point. It is also not an absolute given that Gaffney, Robinson or even Carr... ya know.... *shudders*... ... ... just sayin'.

I understand, and I'm not disagreeing with the statement that he's not currently a Texan, but there is a little difference between his current situation, and the situations of the 3 other former Texans you mentioned.

Out of players not already mentioned:

I always liked Jason Simmons for his versatility. Not an all star, but definitely a team player/contributor while he was here.

Jamie Sharper, still like to hear his story :ant:

Domanick Davis
Seth Payne
Chester Pitts
Jamie Sharper

I'd say Aaron Glenn but he was a multiple pro-bowler. He got his kudos.

The 1st player that came to mind was Payne. Sharper and Glenn were good too. But if you are looking for someone that was not only good but exclusive to the Texans only then that would have to be Domanick Davis. He was really good behind a not so good ol. He had to retire early due to injuries. I think he played for the Texans for 3 years. Without Domanick the Texan's offense was absolutely pathetic. He gets my vote.

I took the question as referring to silent unrecognized leaders. Domanick did not win any probowls but he was well known and respected all around the league with both the fans and staff. I dismiss him just the same as Glenn.

Pitts would be a lessor known quanity that the NFL should be more aware of. His consecutive snap streak was uncanny and unmatched for a long time.

I like Payne as number two.

Maybe with our fans and our staff but I bet if you ask fans from around the country who our rb was back then and they will scratch their head. As far as Pitts goes, there is still a chance the Texans resign him and he would no longer be a former player. Pitts also had a pretty well known commercial that he did with Salaam.

You underestimate the impact Domanick Davis-Williams had on fantasy football. He was a premiere choice of players all across the board. I think he was well known and respected all across the country.

DD was fairly well known. He got the rookie of the year award and then got 1800 combined yards with 14 TDs and popped onto everyones' fantasy football radar.
