Eddie George may retire??

after that the only link we have is Mcnair that played for the oilers

edit
and Gary Walker.. forgot about that but he came to his senses
:heh:

I'd like to see Eddie play another season, I was always one of his biggest fans. I think he could have some value on 3rd and short, and he has always been solid in pass protection.

In that case, Harrington should retire because he hasn't been able to hit open receivers for a few years (his entire pro career). :heh: :jk:
Even worse. Barry Sanders could still hit open holes and still retired. Lions fans must dread the football season.

Wow, I can tell this is going to be a worthwhile thread

Eddie doesn't have it anymore

YOU'RE WRONG, JOEY SUCKS, I HATE THE WORLD, AHHHHHHHHH

this is even more off topic.. Lions were stupid back then..Barry didn't want to play for them and the lions decided to play hardball... I would have traded him and no telling what miami would have given up back then for Sanders...yes, fans would have bashed the management, but if the player doesn't have the desire to play.. get what you can..

George is a class act but he doesn't have it anymore, it was hard to watch him run last season.

He ran last season?

So that's what he was trying to do....

It all makes sense now. He should retire, no doubt about it.

The Lions didn't play hardball with Barry until he retired. They did the same thing Miami did to Ricky Williams, tried to get their cash back.

No one knew what the hell was going on when he retired. After the season he left he country and the entire media was talking to his dumb hick father. Barry was no where to be found. The Lions didn't have any indication at the time he was going to retire. He wasn't talking to anyone. When he did come back out in public, he annouced he was done with football in Late July.
That was it.

The Redskins wanted to make a trade, they had a bunch of #1 picks to trade with. Sanders knew about it, and didn't want to be traded. He was done playing.
He didn't want to play for ANYONE

:bomb:

Man I really do miss Barry, he was truly one of a kind. He did things on the field I never saw anyone do before and haven't seen since. I guess one good thing to come out of Barry's early retirement is you never saw him break down, he dominated from his first game until his last game. Its kinda sad to see the game's greats break down. I hope Rice retires cause I can't stand to see him play anymore, its so sad, just bouncing from team to team. I almost threw up when I saw Emmit Smith put on a cardnals jersey :ouch: Eddie just needs to retire and keep whats left of his dignity.

Remember Robert Smith of the Vikes? When he retired he said he'd rather walk away now than limp away later. He was a pretty good RB himself. Anybody remember that??

Indeed. Now he's going to medical school to be a doctor. Can't argue with that. Go play football, get rich, leave at the top of your game, and then go back to college for a meaningful career path. Pretty accomplished, I'd say.

I'll say one thing for Eddie, he sure was durable. Unfortunately, that's about the only thing I can say about him.

Eddie should take up boxing, who knows.
But then I always remember the story about Jim Brown wanting to box, and Ali convincing him not to.

By slapping him in the face 3 times before he could even react.

He had a rough beginning. Eddie stumbled out the gate in his freshman year at OSU. He took a while to develop and learn, but once he did, it was exciting to watch as he broke rushing records and he didn't know when to stop.
He will always be a Buckeye fan favorite!
But I believe it is time for him to hang it up in the NFL too.

He has been a big player in the NFL and has many fans for the way he plays the game.

Very true. Eddie was a fun player to watch for many years. And as far as I know a really classy man off the field.
