Rookie
Texans complete game summary

Week 1. At buffalo- With this being the first ever start for Losman, I think this gives the texans a distinct advantage. Look for the texans to try to take willis mcgahee out of the game early and than get after losman. With there offensive line problems and their inexperienced quarterback i give the texans the advantage even though buffalo has such a stellar defense. Prediction-W
Week 2. Pittsburgh- Given that their defense remains intact and the progress of big ben, i think that the steelers will be able to run the ball quite efficiently on our young defense. The loss of plaxico will hurt, but i see their offense having few problems with our new defense. Look for the texans to be able to throw the ball around with some success, but will have problems running the ball. Prediction- L
Week 3. Bye week
Week 4. at Cincinnati- The bengals have a young and very talented offense, if the texans our to win this game the defense is going to have to grow up in a hurry. I think that the texans will have the defense ready after the bye week and that they should be able to move the ball through the air and on the ground with relitave ease. The bengals were terrible on defense last year and the texans should be able to take advantage of the two rookie linebackers. Prediction - W
Week 5. Tennessee- The titans devasted by the salary cap should pose no problem for the texans. The texans will be able to pick on pacman seeing he will be going though some of the same problems as dunta last season.
prediction- W
Week 6. at seattle- This is one of the more difficult games to forecast. The seahawks are either really good on week or terrible the next. they have questions at wide reciever and at running back with shaun alexanders holdout. I give the advantage to the texans after back to back wins. Prediction- W
Week 7. Indianapolis- The colts high powered offense will prove difficult to stop but look for the texans to be able to keep in step with them. Our corners should play well. The key to this game will be to stop freeney and protect david carr. Even with the improvements on defense i see the colts winning this game. Prediction- L
Week 8. Cleveland- With the browns haveing only one offensive star in braylon edwards, and a bad o-line the texans defense will control the game all day. The browns have even less weapons on defense and the texans will have no problem getting the ball to andre and protecting david carr. Texans will be looking for payback after last season game. Prediction-W
Week 9. at Jacksonville- The jaguars have two of the best defensive tackles in the game so it will be difficult for the texans to be able to run the ball with much success. The receivers should be able to get open consistanly. Depending on the health of fred talor and the development of leftwich the texans should be able to keep their streak alive and keep jacksonville looking for answers. Look for the texans Cornerbacks to win every matchup they encounter. Prediction- W
Week 10. at indianapolis- this is where the texans face their toughiest part of the schedule. Indianapolis is almost unbeatable at home and they will continue to have the texans numbers. Look for the colts defensive line to own the texans. There all fast and on that turf of theirs they should be flying around us. Prediction- L
Week 11. Kansas City- They already have one of the best offenses and now their new defense should have had time to gel togeather. Look for derrick johnson to show the texans why they should have taken him. The texans should be able to score with them since they have no one who can guard andre, but look for them to come up just short. Prediction- L
Week 12. St. Louis- It's going to be a shootout here. Look for the texans to get very little pressure on marc bulger. and look for torry holt to own phillip buchanon. I like the chances of us winning here seeing they have no defense what soever, but i think that the texans will be too down after back to back loses. Prediction- L
Week 13. at baltimore- With their new 4-3 defense and that great secondary I look for the texans to have a real hard time to find any room on offense. On the other hand I believe by now the texans defense should be playing great just like last year at this time. Look for this game to be low scoreing and down to the wire with the ravens defense coming up big. Prediction- L
Week 14. at tennesee- the four game looseing streak that has all texans fans upset at chris palmer, the texans go to tennesee and win. It's tennesee so i still see no problem here, look for steve mcnair to be injured because of a terribel offensive line. Prediction- W
Week 15. Arizona- The cardinals are a young and improveing team, but i see the texans really getting after kurt warner here. There pressure on him will force multiple turnovers and will allow the texans to win. I can't wait to see our three corners verses their three wide receivers. Prediction- W
Week 16. Jacksonville- The streak continues and the jaguars and texans will be fighting for the wild card spot. The texans will be able to pull out a close victory and keep their playoff chances alive. Prediction-W
Week 17. at San Fransico- The texans from start to finish will dominate this game, the 49ers just lack the talent to keep up with us. The texan with this win will make the playoffs.Prediction- W
final record 10-6 with a playoff birth

Good job there Wolfy. Very thourogh and you obviously put a lot of time
into it. I hope you're right, 10-6 would really be sweet.

feel free to share your own opinions on my analysis
Like I said a few post ago, I like it. But one disagreement that stands out to me. I believe we beat the colts in our against them here. They'll be coming off of a Monday nighter and they will not have had their bye week yet.

Although I'm almost convinced we'd win that one, don't discount our next game against them 3 weeks later. They'll be coming off of another Monday nighter against NE on the road. Short weeks of practice could equal them taking us lightly in one of the two. Hopefully.

Here's their schedule if ya wanna take a peek.

You have the texans beating the bengals, but I don't think we have ever beaten them, even when they were bad.

Week 1. @ Buffalo - W - Losman will be confused
Week 2. Pittsburgh - L - Close loss
Week 3. Bye week
Week 4. @ Cincinnati - W - Texans will be focused
Week 5. Tennessee - W - This is getting fun
Week 6. @ Seattle - L - It's tough to win on the road
Week 7. Indianapolis - W - This is the game circled on the Texans calendar
Week 8. Cleveland - W - Ugly memories from last year will be erased
Week 9. @ Jacksonville - L - It's tough to win on the road
Week 10. @ Indianapolis - L - The Colts are too good at home
Week 11. Kansas City - L - Chiefs really good, Texans trying too hard
Week 12. St. Louis - W - Texans win big, Martz on his way out
Week 13. @ Baltimore - L - It's tough to win on the road
Week 14. @ Tennesee - W - It's not tough to win at Tennessee
Week 15. Arizona - W - Texans roll
Week 16. Jacksonville - W - Texans win a game with playoff implications
Week 17. @ San Fransico - W - It's not tough to win at San Fran

Optimistic prediction is 10-6

I like the 10-6 record, but I don't know if that would be enough to get us in the playoffs, especially in the AFC conference.

What would be sweeter than a 10-6 record on most of these scenarios?

Answer: Winning 8 HOME GAMES !

(At that point somebody on the Texas team will have to come up with a good name for Reliant Stadium.)

Well, I have us beating the Colts in our first game at home. The Colts tend to let things slip early in the season, and they typically don't play like they can in Houston. I also have us beating the Rams, that team is falling apart and on our turf they will continue to do so. The key to that game will be to keep the roof open.

The key to our season I believe is the first four games and the last 5 games because November has alot of question marks. If we can finish the first four @ 3-1 that should help us get some momentum to finish October strong which will help us get through November where we may go 2-2.
I want to see us doing better in December/Jan because that is where the playoff teams show up and I see us doing real nice around 3-2 with a chance of going a game better than that because we don't face any difficult weather.

Call me crazy but I see 11-5 as very possible with an expectation of 9-7.

I for one feel that there is nothing wrong with thinking your team can run the table. That is what makes you a fan.

Unless your a 49ers fan, then you'd just be borderline insane.

I can't see an Alex Smith/Tim Rattay team going 16-0........but, maybe its just cuz I'm not a fan ?

wow great post wolf, just one dissagreement i think we'll beat KC seeing as we beat them last year i think we'll pull it together again this year.unless we go in there to confident....

I don't think that just cause we beat the cheifs last year will beat them again this year. There defense is much improved with johnson, bell and surtain, and their offense is only week at the receiver position. We will not be seeing the same cheifs team as last year.

Its always the intangables that ruin logical predictions. Turnovers/Penalties/Injuries/ If the Texans cut there Turnovers/Penalties in half and stay healthy they may have a chance to win 9 games. O-Line is key this year. Staying pat with the O-linemen we have IS a calculated move. O-Lineman need time to get familiar with each other.

Texans are 1 of 2 teams to represent the South in the Play-offs, but they wind up getting beat for the third time in a row by the Jags in the AFC Championship Game.

Realistically I'm looking for a 9-7 season, with no losses being total butt-whippin's. And for once, can we at least beat the flippin' colts?!

if the texans can pull of 1 or 2 upsets and win the games they are supposed to win and go 5-1 in division games we should have a shot at making the playoffs

the jags wont be sweeping. leftwich still struggles with reading defenses and avoiding the blitz. the bright spot on the team stands as the two dt's. matt jones will be best player on team, will not show true ability right away but most athletic and best playmaker. i see at best for the jags winning one of two. the jags will not be making the playoffs...we may not either but we will be ahead of the jags.

i wish it was that easy to predict, but injuries are a lil unpredictable. and that will play a big role in the outcome of this season.
