Marion Barber is a disruption?

A caller during John McClain's portion on 610 mentioned something about the Cowboys wanting to get rid of Choice and McClain corrected him and said that they were looking to get rid of Marion Barber because he's become "the worst disruption" McClain has seen.

Really?

So, I hate these absurd trade ideas that people come up with but if Dallas were to release someone like Barber then I think we have to concider it. I'm shocked to hear that he's such an immature player. I had no idea. I wonder if playing with his baby brother in a more stable organization would be a calming influence.

Here's his contract info:

5/20/2008: Signed a seven-year, $45 million contract. The deal contains $16 million guaranteed, including a $12 million signing bonus. 2009: $620,000, 2010: $3.86 million, 2011: $4.25 million, 2012: $5.75 million, 2013: $6.25 million, 2014: $7 million, 2015: Free Agent

Does anyone think he could be a good fit in a zone scheme? I love the way he runs with reckless abandon. He's been one of my favorite non-Texans for some time.

If the year was 2007 I'd be all for it. I think his running style and the pounding he's taken has killed his burst to a degree and his career is dwindling fast. I know he averaged over 4 yards a carry but thats no incredible feat considering how well Dallas runs the ball and how he had the luxury of 2 other backs spelling him. The thing is, he runs too hard and he's almost useless in the second half of games. Also, he's a power runner (no duh lol) and I'm not sure if the one cut and go scheme is ideal for him. He's at his best when he zeros in on tacklers and initiates the contact which for him, unfortunately is killing his career.

Contract-wise also, I don't think we'd want any part of that. He'd have to be released out of that deal. No one would trade for him for that money.

I don't condone any kind of trade. I thought that was clear. It's bad, bad football business in my opinion. If he were released I think it would be worth looking into.

I guess posting his contract info made it confusing. Sorry.
I just found it interesting.
The main question I have is this: What the hell is all this disruption stuff?

I've never heard a word about Barber being any problem. Ever. He doesn't speak to the media.

My in-laws are big Cowboy fans. The things I hear about him and even see whenever we all sit down and watch NFL is:

He likes to run vertically alot (ZBS would need him to make one cut and go up field).
He looks for a defender to go hit when he doesn't have to. Literally the guy could be in the open field and he will turn to run into a defender so he can try to run over him.
They believe he was more effective when Julius Jones would wear down the defense and then Barber would come in to clean up.
He's not really starter material.

Tell me Cowboy fans if any of this sounds familiar.

He's one of the hardest runners I've ever seen and it's obvious he's not going to impress anybody with his speed. That's why they have Jones. The part about him being in the open field and turning to run into a defender...don't remember him doing that but who knows?

I wouldn't count on it. Heck, going by how he's been playing, his baby brother probably won't be around very much longer anyways. Barber's been burnt almost as much as Busing.

I still wonder if anyone has heard anything about him being a disruption?

All I can tell you is I frequent Cowboys boards and there has never been any thread anywhere that I have seen that anybody said this and nothing in the Dallas Morning News either.

He doesn't speak to the media so I'm not sure what sort of "disruption" John McClain is talking about.

You might ask him on his blog.

As far as I know the Cowboys locker room was fine last year....post TO.
