Eagles release Westbrook

I'll answer this before anyone asks...

No I don't think so. And I've always been a fan of the guy.

I already said this in the other thread, but Wesbrook is old and injury prone I would like someone young like Jamal Charles.

Wow. Westbrook and LT let go in the same week. Those two really did a lot for their teams.

He is banged up alot but I never saw much of his skills diminishing when healthy. He will get signed somewhere as a RBBC guy.

He'll get picked up, injury prone or not. It seemed like whenever he got hurt the Eagles would start to fade, he would come back and they would take off on a run again.

I always signed him on my fantasy team as an extra back knowing he would get hurt, but knew he would blow it up when he got healthy.

Good luck to him.

One of the most "complete backs" to play in the NFL over the last 8 to 10 years. He could pass-block for QB protection, catch the ball out of the backfield, and even run with impressive power inside the tackles while possessing excellent speed and an outstanding burst to be an effective
open-field runner. And to top it off he was a real team guy.

He kind of reminds me of that defensive player from the movie, Any Given Sunday. He really has no business playing football anymore but teams keep allowing him to return. He's a walking medical disaster waiting to happen. No more medical clearnces for him to return to professional football, please. His head has taken enough of a pounding.

He's still dynamic when he's healthy...as little as that seems to be now. I still wouldn't mind at all seeing him in a texans uni, but we won't see it.

I really like thier rookie McCoy. I saw a little bit of him this season and watch the entire Eagles Bears games (in a Hou hotel room waiting on MNF). He had 20 carries for 100yards and looked like with a little experience he could be really good

so i dont think they will have a problem at RB. Overall I love westbrook's attitude and work ethic. Who can forget the game where he downed it at the 1 to win the game (and pissed off millions of fantasy fans LMAO). I would like him on our team - 3+ years ago. Too may concussions and injuries recently

Thats why you don't want to invest a high pick and high $ in a running back. They breakdown too much. Typical shelf life is so short and at the end of the day would you rather have an elite rb like Westbrook/LT or an elite other position(like CB, DE, QB etc).

Would n e one be up for offering St Louis a draft pick for Steven Jackson.... There not going n e were n e time soon . Just a thought that ran thru my mind

"My plan is not to retire," Westbrook told Philadelphia radio station 97.5 The Fanatic on Wednesday. "My plan is to continue to play football."

Westbrook, who thanked Eagles fans and coach Andy Reid for their support over the years, said his agent has already heard from three or four teams about his availability for 2010.

Story continued in link.

I think he should before he has no mental capacity. However, if he wants to play...
