Well, Who Dat Nation You Deserve It

I went for the Colts and Manning but the Saints won so good for them. After the storm the city really wanted something postive to happen. They had to wait awhile but four years and seven months later they have their first SB win in franchise history. I like Drew Brees as a person and QB he is just an all around likeable guy and IMO, after the win tonight an elite QB now. Both QB's played well untill the INT thrown by Manning on just a great play by the DB 3who came under and just read the pass perfectly. Drew just does his part on the field but he does the same off the field as well by giving back to the town. It's only fitting that Drew is SB MVP because he is also the people's MVP thanks to all he does for them in the town. It was an outstanding football game for sure and Drew should now get a new large contract now. It has been a very long time coming for tonight 44 years for that matter and the time is here and now. Congratulations to both teams for making it to the SB but most of all to the Saints for winning it. I really just wanted to see a good game and it was. I saw a heart warming story about Drew visiting this boy in the hospital who is fighting cancer and Drew has a photo of him and the boy haning and his locker. My respect just grew for him after seeing that wonderful story this morning you should Google it if you missed it. One more time, WHO DAT SAY THEY GONNA BEAT THEM SAINTS? I have to hand it to them.
 
That's a positive person who can give someone their props and know when a good team deserves it. All this they got lucky or if it wasn't for that call, but those are the breaks and hence the term any given Sunday. All those hating the 'who dat' chants, why? Because they're in the grandaddy of em all? Let them hoot and chant, they are winners and now champions. Saints fans aren't obnoxious or vain, they're good ole southern people like we are, who would definitely root for us when we get to the big game one day. If your a Saints fan, congratulations, you earned it.
 
I'm happy for the Saints fans. They deserve this. I think they've had a tough time as fans the same way Houston football fans have with the Oilers and the Texans in a lot of ways. They finally made it to their first SB and they beat Manning and the Colts. Good for them. They can party on Canal and Bourbon Street and have a ball. Congrats New Orleans!! Party like Rock Stars!

I'm happy for Saints fans, especially those eight rabid ones in my main fantasy league whom I've known for years and commiserated with over multiple beers on multiple occasions. Those guys are all partying like rap stars tonight in their hometown, not giving a second thought to poor old me and my plight as a Houston football fan.:kitten:

The true Saints fans deserve this, but I'd be less than truthful if I said their Super Bowl victory doesn't make me a little sad. I'm sad because I've always thought of the Saints as Houston's football cousins-- partly because of geography and franchise futility, partly because of Earl Campbell and Bud Adams--and our cousins get to experience something I will never enjoy. Their Super Bowl victory and the barrage of stories about the Who Dat Nation brings back a flood of memories of my beloved Oilers and how much we Houstonians lost when that asshole owner took our team and its franchise history from the fans who helped build it into a successful organization.

Oh, what could have been. Don't get me wrong, I love the Houston Texans, but they cannot replace the Oilers in my heart because the Oilers were a huge part of my childhood.

It takes decades to build a tradition, and our team is only eight years old. Here's to today's Houston kids connecting with the Texans as I did the Luv Ya Blue Oilers.

This is how I've always sort of felt. I've always known a lot of Saints fans and have a few family members from Louisianna that are hard core fans to the fullest. Have a lot of close friends to the family that are as well and I've always held most Saints fans in high regard compared to other fan bases being so close to us in the South and all. I'm happy for them. They deserve their success right now.
 
Congratulations to the Saints. In choosing a winner, my heart said Saints, but mental component chose the Colts. However, that didn't stop me from really feeling great about the experience that the Saints fans were experiencing.

It was a little funny in listening to the radio this morning once more for the rap Pants on the Ground to Colts on the ground, looking like fools because the Saints put them down.

Overall, I thought the game was good, and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Queen Latifa didn't inspire, Carrie Underwood was good but not great, imo, favorite commercial was Dorrito's dude in the coffin, the intro and stage effects of The Who, but on stage Who Dat? In the end, when it was obvious that the Colts were going to lose, I was sceaming for Manning not to score the touchdown as my son was sitting on 7-1 on the SB pot.

I had a great time!

To the Saints and their fans I want to say congratula....Aw who am I kiddin' I can't do it. Sorry. It's not gonna happen. Joe-Texan will call President Obama a "Brilliant and inspirational leader" before I give these guys their due. Sorry baby it aint happening. I'm with Grandma on this one.

Ha. Considering the record breaking amount of people that watched the Bowl, that'd make for a Nationwide traffic jam. I guess it'd make morgues, auto-body shops and street sweepers happy.
 
I was extremely happy to see the Saints win, and mostly for their fans. It also gave me hope too (dangerous thing - Shawshank) because it reminded me that sometimes the sun shines on every franchise. (Leafs/Astros/Titans/Raptors in my lifetime please)

It didn't hurt that they beat a team/player that I despise, was the hardest I have rooted for a team since the Giants got an extra nudge from the football gods to push Scott Norwood's FG wide right.

this is a good warning :)

yesterday on I-10 out there, on the way to my brother's and then again on the way back from his place I saw a cop have someone pulled over each time - in nearly the same spot

only one was from Texas though - the other from Louisiana
