T.O. Would be Chasing Rice if not for.........

HoustonFrog

Dallas Frog
You guessed it.....his QBs. This guys can't help but be Supreme Douche of the nation of Douchescape

Terrell Owens said that he might be within striking distance of overtaking Jerry Rice's records as the league's greatest-ever receiver if he had played with better quarterbacks during his career.

Owens, who earned honors as the best receiver of the 2000s on USA TODAY's All-Decade team, said the signal callers he played with during his 14-year career did not allow him to climb to the top of the record books:

"I know hands-down I'd be close to Jerry Rice's records if I had been with quality quarterbacks like he had. He had Joe Montana and he finished with Steve Young. That wasn't a dropoff.

"Say I had been with a guy like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or Drew Brees all of my career. Are you kidding me?"

Hell If I had Brady, Manning and Brees as my QB's for my career I would be chasing Jerry Rice's records too!

The guy is such a piece of work. He'll never change. He'll never be humbled. He'll always be the NFL's biggest and most cancerish piece of ****. I loved watching him rot in Buffalo this season.

He can't help himself but to be bitter towards all of those QB's that stood by his side and tried to connect with him until they all got sick and tired of his bullshit. What's funny is every QB he played with up until Buffalo was a Pro Bowler and yet he still says stuff like this.

I wonder if he takes in to consideration all the balls he's dropped. This guy acts like he played his whole career with Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell, and Vince Young.

Yup. Dropped a ton of passes

Steve Young - HOF
Donovan McNabb - ProBowler
Jeff Garcia - ProBowler
Tony Romo - ProBowler

Obnoxious or not, he would still have much better stats if he'd played his entire career with Hall of Fame QBs.

He wouldn't be anywhere near Rice, but he would have produced more than he has.

Jeff Garcia != Joe Montana
Donovan McNabb != Steve Young

Every single offensive player in the NFL would have practically done better had they played with a HOF QB if you want to put it that way, but that's still not always the case.

For as good as Joe Montana was he was never the eye popping stat lord from year to year. Rice owned the NFL for like 17 years as the best WR alive. He was never 2nd to anyone until he got old and beat up.

It's funny that we don't hear other guys like Carter, Steve Largent, Tim Brown, or even Michael Irvin saying garbage like this and discrediting the QB's they played with all of these years. And TO did get to play with Mcnabb who just might end up being a HOF QB one day. TO screwed all of that up just like he did in the other situations.

The fact is that if TO hadn't been such an ass on every team he was on, his numbers would have been better. The chemistry with him and his QB's would have been better and his teams would have been better that he destroyed.

And that, folks, is the difference right there. :photos:

What are you confused about?

I didn't say he wasn't an obnoxious jackhole for throwing his QBs under the bus. I just said that he would have been better with HoF QBs throwing to him.

Garcia, McNabb and Romo would have much better careers if they had been throwing to Jerry Rice.

Bingo. It goes both ways. TO just needs to quit being a little pansy. Everyone is sick of his crap already, what does he not understand?

Even if T.O. played with Montana and Young during their primes, he still would've found a way to call one of them gay and the other a choker. It's in his DNA, the guy is a insufferable asshole and would've been no matter who he happened to play with.

2nd best point made in this thread. Rep to you and Eriadoc both.

the great quarterbacks he played with are the only reason owens is even mentioned with the upper tier receivers ... until this season, romo's the low quarterback for owens with only 2 probowls (in a currently 6 year career). the 49er's began losing their steam as rice aged and TO emerged. heck without directly learning from rice he probably wouldnt even be as "good" as he was. TO's an amazing athlete, i doubt many will argue that, but his targets to receptions has been horrid for atleast as long as i've kept track and well below his teammates. what's next, he's going to say that if he played with a hall of famer like matt schaub he would've put up consecutive 1500+ yard seasons too?

Andre Johnson put up great stats with David freakin Carr and Sage Rosenfels throwing to him. T.O, just put up or shut up.
