There is a chance that missed a discussion on this year's pro bowl. I was really surprised as well as puzzled by not necessarily the move from Hawaii or rotation, but before the Super Bowl really caught my attention.
What is the rationale of playing before the Super Bowl when it's obvious that pro-bowlers from the two highest ranked teams will not be participating? Even though some of those selected had injuries or other reasons for not playing in the past, yet most of those selected seemed to play that final game as a fun closure to the season.
I don't see attendance being any greater than it was in Hawaii, and those geared up for the Super Bowl probably won't be arriving before that weekend. It just seems odd to have a pro-bowl game with only participants from teams that are finished for the season.
