GOOD GOD! I was about to go to sleep... now I'm on an adrenaline rush that I won't come down from for 2 hours.

By the way Barrett, according to my itinerary, we should just be pulling in to the Holiday Inn in Cincinnati right this minute.
 
Imo video #3 is THE reason that AJ is the best reciever in the league. Anybody can run a route and catch a ball, but the physical element that AJ brings to the table is unique.

Video highlights of individual achievements are good. But "frickin' awesome" teams don't finish 9-7 and out of the playoffs.....

amen. we arent happy that we aint in the playoffs this year, but we are happy to have a winning record. we realize that we had like 5 games lost in the final play etc. best overall year for us, plenty of highlights

The fact of the matter is we were only "out" of one game, the first one with the Jets. After that, we were "in" every single game this season. If it weren't for a few bone headed plays by the Brown twins, we'd be in the playoffs right now.

And that's what it comes down to, a few critical plays here and there. Heck either Indy or Cincy decides to play a game and nothing changes on the Texans and 75% of the whining goes away. That doesn't mean there isn't legitimate discussion and criticism but some people revel in their creative negativity.
 
I love a postive thread! I was a proud Texan, maybe not a happy one, when we were 2-14. Today, I'm proud and happy!! I'm still alive, my team is getting better, and I FINALLY feel postivie about a playoff run next year. Not once did I think this years team was playoff bound, BUT, I already have that GUT feeling that this time next year we'll be waiting for our Texans to take the field, in a week!! NO wild card for us, we'll be Division champions!!!

Agree... but let's spread the love. Schaub had his share of bone headed plays... Slaton had a few...

I don't have luv for either of the Browns, but I think it's important to not forget some of the boneheaded plays were commited by guys we depend heavily on.

If it weren't for that, & these players continued to make these same mistakes, I would understand the debbie downers.

I agree, there was very little that was real abou this team at the end of 2008. Nothing we could hang our hat on, that we could look forward to building on in 2009. Even our run game, was a good play by Slaton, followed by a lucky break, followed by a blown defensive assignment, followed by another awesome play by Slaton.

Now, we've got an identity on both sides of the ball.

Next year, we won't be playing to win games... that's what we have been doing. Next year, we start playing for a championship.
 
There’s no reason to be a Debby Downer right now. The Texans are a much improved team, and will likely get better this offseason. The problem is the continual wait. How many years do we wait? How much waiting is enough?

I think we make the playoffs next year as a wildcard. As long as P. Manning is alive and kicking, owning the division is a bit of a problem. With a good defense, we can overcome that. P. Manning is not perfect, he’s good, but he’s not perfect and can be beat. If he wasn’t unbeatable, he’d have a lot more than just one Super Bowl to show for it after all this time.

True, but it is bittersweet seeing a team we beat the crap out of - Bengals - playing a team that was given a playoff spot. Too bad we didn't play the Colts in week 16 or 17.

I'm just a realist, that's all. We're not awesome, just mediocre. But we do have the potential to be awesome.

Now go put on your official Schaub jock strap, get your Dunta pacifier and sleep on your Cushing pillow .....

Sorry to bring pessimism to this thread, cause i think we are a very good team now, and would've ruled ass this year if it wasn't for the Browns.

A long offseason awaits us...and then we'll begin ruling ass next year.

I do actually wear a Schaub jock strap. I've got it on right now! And I slept on a Cushing pillow for the first 11 weeks of the season but my wife stole it. As for the Dunta pacifier... I'm actually warming up to the idea of getting him back next year. I think it'll benefit everyone involved.
