How does 9-7 Compare to Your Preseason Predictions?

I have to admit that I predicted 11-5 and division winners. I ignorantly felt Indy was going to drop off this year. Oh well...

Here is to a great 2010-11 season!

The curse of the perpetuating lie that Indy is dropping off. I figured they'd be 10-6 with a good shot. I was one game off and you can take the word "good" off the last statement.

I thought Slaton would get injured and the offense would struggle with the turds we had behind him, but Schaub and 'dre stepped up big time and topped my 7-9 prediction.

i went 10-6, 5th seed in the afc
but i also thought we'd sweep jacksonville and split with the colts and tacks

I was in the 9-7 or 10-6 camp, can't remember exactly. It ended about where I thought it would. We lost some we should have won and vice versa....

Preseason? I was thinking 10-6 or 11-5.

After we lost Brisel, Pitts, and Slaton started fumbling like mad I was thinking 6-10! I thought that was damn near a lead pipe lock when we got to 5-7. I really never expected to run the table on the last four games.

So, 9-7 is disappointing relative to my initial predictions, but given some of the crap that went down during the season, I'll take it.

Pretty much the same here. 11-5 with the thought Indy would drop back some and we might contend for the division.

Oh how painfully close we were to the playoffs. Oh how painfully close to a 15-1 record.

Next year better be a leap forward because the training wheels are off.

Going into the season, I was thinking 9-7 with an outside shot at the wild card. One of the only times I've been disappointed about being correct on something.

I said 10-6 maybe 11-5 in the offseason, then retreaded (think that's the word) back to 9-7 maybe 10-6 after preseason.

I thought 10-6 or 11-5.

Were knocking on that door but we dont need to knock we need to kick that sumbitch down and kick ass and take names.

Cmon Kubiak you have us on the verge of greatness get it done or get out!

I predicted 11-5. That said, I guess 9-7 isn't too bad. I am really excited about this team next season though. I truly believe they turned the corner in beating the Pats the way they did today. September can't come soon enough!

I predicted 10-6 with a playoff berth. I thought Slaton was going to have a good year.

Next year Slaton will look better, Arian will be part of the mix, and OD will pick up where he left off. It's going to be a good season.

I predicted 9-7 in an article for the Houston Press on August 26th. I don't feel any better about it today but hey, we're "winners". yay.

I don't know if I posted this anywhere or not, but I did expect 9-7 at the least, but given how the Patriots finished 11-5 and out of the playoffs last year, I didn't expect the Texans to make it to the postseason.

We were close though!

I think Gary started a prediction poll with "9-7", "10-5", "11-5", and IIRC, 120-4 as the only options. There wasn't an "8-8" or a "7-9 or worse" There were quite a few "120-4" Kool-Aid drinkers out there. LOL!

I voted 10-6 and that was assuming we had some luck and a healthy Schaub all year. The unknowns in our defense - including how our new D.C. would do - made me too queasy to go any higher.

And, hopefully, we'll bolster the O-line, pick up a stud FS, upgrade the DT positions, and our rookie D.C. will have all off-season to figure out how to destroy Manning and stop Chris Johnson.

I predicted 10-6, but will give 9-7 a pass considering all of the craziness we had this year and the resilience shown by this team to end the season. We have to take that next step and start winning games in our own division.

I had us going between 7-9 and 9-7. I bounced around a few times... but I think I settled on 9-7. (correct me if I'm wrong about that please its been a long week.) I really felt like we had to mature, and today, maybe we did a little. I'm dissappointed though, because we blew chances. I felt like that we should have started to take advantage of chances and we never seemed to. Maybe today was a change. Who knows... bring on 2010-2011.

Mike

I think, I predicted 10-6 and boy we were so close to double digits record. We will in 2010 IMO and playoff!!!

I love the Texans!!!
Go Texans!!!

Believe I said anywhere from 9-7 to 7-9. Unlike many others, I didn't see us being a playoff team quite yet, so being able to go into the last week of the season with a chance for postseason play was a bonus.

We still have some holes, but a couple more drafts coupled with system continuity will get us closer to the promised land very soon.
