Sorry we don't get much Texans news down here, mostly Cowboys. I was wondering how the Texans were doing with signing their picks. It seems that they are usually the first team to sign their players.

7th round draft pick Kenneth Pettway was signed yesterday.

I believe that's the only offseason signing thus far.

So far they signed their 7th round Kennth Pettway out of Grambling St. They singed him to a 3 year deal. The $$ escapes me but if go on houstonchronicle.com it has a story on it.

From what Ive read on another post it was 40k signing bonus and the league minimum salary (which is around 285k I think).

Kenny signed for $965,494 including a $40,494 signing bonus for 3 years according to the Houston Chronicle.

It's cool to see someone you went to high school with make it big. Congrats Kenny! And good luck in the NFL!

Is he from TX??

he is definitely from Gilmer! I think this kid can make on special teams. he is fast and can hit. good luck.

He was born in Houston and went to a Houston school for a while. But in 1995 or so, he and his family moved to Gilmer, Tx. Gilmer is around Longview and Tyler and about 3 hours north of Houston. He stayed there the rest of high school and graduated as a Buckeye! Just like me!

unrelated story but your name and the buckeye reminded me of my buckeye encounter. I was given a buckeye once as I closed a business deal with an OSU grad around 2000. He told me that the Indians would grind them up and would throw them in the water and the fish would float to the top. Something about robbing the oxygen in the water I think...He told me never to lose that buckeye because it was bad luck. I got my divorce shortly after I lost it and my new (ex) girlfriend flipped my Lincoln in a ravine. I don't believe in that kind of stuff (voodo myth type stuff) but I've thought of that guy many times even though he was one of hundreds of guys I have negotiated with over the years.
